Perfect lantern for what I needed in case power goes out. Love the 4 light modes and the 4th one is plenty bright enough to light up a room. In reference to those who say the battery cover is difficult to close and gets stuck so they can't remove it. The piece on the cover that slides into the lantern itself is not round, it's oblong with a pronounced point to slide into the compartment post. If you just jam the cover on without matching the slot you are creating your own problem. The post is visible in Fig. 2 of the instruction sheet showing it is not round but makes no mention of matching it to the tube on the battery cover. If something needs to be forced on, something is wrong so stop and take a look at the process first. However, Coleman should definitely make note of correctly matching the battery cover tube to the post in the lantern itself. It's just dumb not to on their part. Who would think that the posts are not round? A lot of people evidently. Coleman and Amazon could reduce a lot of returns and up the ratings if the correction was made.

Great product! Used it during power outage not last no after we got it. Lit up the room very well. Currently sitting in laundry room shelf ready to go.

Bright and takes D so will last long time

This was a great gift for Father’s Day for my husband! He likes the 4 settings on it!

Works great, but be sure to read product dimensions. It’s kinda smaller than you might expect. Pretty durable and bright enough for casual use. Probably provides about 20/30 feet of visibility in the dark.

I love this small compact lantern. It is just perfect. I got for power outages. Coleman is a name to be trusted.

Battery carrier: SO glad I read the reviews before returning my lantern - I too was very frustrated when I couldn't close the battery carrier UNtIL I read the experiences of other owners who conquered the mountain! It was SO simple yo just align the arrows BEFORE puttinf on the lid and just pressing it down - immediate alignment and so simple. Thank you so much for printing the positive experiences with closing this baqttery carrier. It was the only problem I have had with this little gem of a lantern, and now that it is solved, all is righ with the world!

Great course of light at a camp site

Compact and sturdy. I often use it in my farm. Perfect for outdoors as well as indoors. No issues even when exposed to rain. But wipe and dry once under roof. Placement of switch is great. Won't blind you when operating. I use rechargeable batteries, tested for 6 hrs continuous run. It worked well. Be cautious when closing the battery lid. Follow instructions manual to avoid any issues. Since it was import to India, I shelled out more bucks. But trust me, this Coleman lantern is perfect for outdoors and during power outage.

Very handful for my camping. The quality is very good. My son was make a mistake on the battery cover. It was stuck. I thought it is going to finish. But it still working fine. Very good!
