I’ve had guinea pigs for years and tried a bunch of different bedding brands, and this one is honestly the best one I’ve used so far. The biggest thing for me is the smell control. In the pictures you can literally see there’s already quite a bit of hay and waste built up after a few days, and somehow it still barely smells. Other bedding brands I used before would make the whole room stink really fast, especially after 2–3 days. It’s also really soft, and my guinea pig (Shayla) seems super comfortable with it. I also noticed there’s way less dust compared to some cheaper bedding I tried before. The 60L bag lasts a pretty long time too, which makes the price feel more worth it. At this point I’m probably just sticking with this bedding from now on because it works way better than the others I’ve tested. Definitely 5 stars from me.

I've used many, many brands and this is the best I've found for my guinea pigs. I go through a lot of litter because I have litter boxes in front of their food and water. That's where my GP's do most of their bathroom business. I change out anything wet a couple times a day when I feed them. I was previously just buying whatever paper, pet-safe bedding was the lowest price, as there are often coupons and BOGO sales on different brands. There seems to be no odor, even with my house is warmer. But more important - This litter seems to wick the urine down to the litter on the bottom, keeping the top litter dry and clean. When I first starting using it, it was so dry on the top I thought something was wrong... like they were not peeing enough (maybe dehydrated or a water bottle failure)... but turns out it was just dry on the top and wet on the bottom. This is excellent for my GP's comfort and cleanliness. It's also soft and sometimes they just lie in it. The rest of their abode has fleece flooring with water proof pads underneath, which they seem to like, but sometimes when I first put this stuff down they just want to hang out in the litter box... lol.

Carefresh is a great product. Use it for rabbits cage. It's so absorbent and easy and to use.

The plus side about this is that it's an enormous amount of bedding for it's price. However, as soon as I opened the package, I knew that it was cheap for a reason. This bedding feels like cut and crinkled cardboard. It's way harder than the Kaytee bedding. It is also dustier than its Kaytee counterpart, but generally not a problem at all. It has good odor absorption, but the odor absorption will probably only last 2 days on an inch of bedding. The best part about this bedding is it absorbs moisture very well. My guinea pigs tend to pee and poo in one corner, and I only have to put an inch of bedding in that corner to absorb all their pee. This is a good choice if you're taking the economical route. Each piece of bedding is relatively dense, which is why it absorbs so well. The tradeoff is that it's very hard. You be the judge of weather or not your guinea pigs care about the softness.

The main reason for trying this product was for my Cats. One is a 2 year old X - Large Maine Coon and a 12 year old Small/Slim Tuxedo Siamese. I kept trying diff litters and other things to make their box more natural, soft and odor free, etc. Either other products were to sting from fragrance, or to heavy of a product to use. Example, Made the trash can feel like a ton!!! And was quite costly using Umpteen bags of litter!!! Crazy!!! Esp. in these costly tines we go through! So I looked and looked at many products, prices, reviews etc.on Amazon. I narrowed it down to this product to try! I'm glad I did, I would recommend this item so much! It covers the strong and not so strong odors, plus it is so soft for both Cats to use. Fragrance free, but surely doesn't need any!!! I too have major allergy issues and this product has helped me immensely!!! My cats like it too, esp. the older cat of it being soft!!! Who knows I may get a gerbil, or Guinea pig later on!!! Easy to handle, soft to spread out with hands. And most importantly, extremely dust free!!!! Love it!!! A++++++

Been buying the same product for over three years now. This is by far the best bedding for my rabbit. No dust and absorbs everything and there’s never a smell. I try to clean it every three - four days. Works great for me and my bunny!

Really strong bad smell from this product !!

After buying a hamster, i soon found out that I am allergic to saw dust! After looking at alternatives I came across Carefresh and decided to give it a go. The product is great. It lasts for 10 days and does not smell one bit. It is far less messy than saw dust and very easy to change. Best of all there is no dust, so no more asthma attacks. The hamster also seems very happy as he can build little dens in it. Whilst it seems pricey, for the reasons mentioned above it is definitely worth it. It is also a lot cheaper on Amazon compared to shops.

I love using carefresh and this one works great for odor control. It absorbs the pee, very well. I also find the colored ones tend to smell so bad when your cleaning it out. I also like that it was like a $10 dollar difference from my local pet store. Update: I got a new batch of carefresh and its an off white color. Same amount just different color and works the same from what I can see. The one left is the new stuff and the old color is one the right.

Bought for my hamster. Absolutely loved this. Fluffy and soft. Doesnt cause any problems to the hamster. 1 box goes for a good 2 months. Odor control is good. And easy to clean. Almost like cleaning a bunch of crumbled tissue. My hamster loves digging inside it and looks very happy and cozy. Always calm and well adjusted with this bedding from first use.
