Studio Ghibli is back in a major way!
Goro Miyazaki, the director of this film, is the son of famed film director Hayao Miyazaki. After seeing Goro's first solo all CGI effort, Earwig and The Witch, which was a major disappointment, I wasn't sure what to expect here. This animated series is the first ever animated series for Studio Ghibli and is it based on the book “Roja the Robber’s Daughter” written by the famous children’s book author Astrid Lindgren. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be a massive understatement! At first, I wasn’t sure I was going to like the series but as the series went on, I quickly became hooked as the characters are extremely engaging and the story, which has a lot of depth, is a very good one for adults as well as children. Although done in CGI, the series artwork is very close to the hand drawn quality and detail seen in Studio Ghibli films to the point you don’t think it is CGI. When the 26th and last episode ended I was saddened that there were no more episodes, which says a lot about the high quality of this series. With this series it is obvious that Studio Ghibli is back in a major way. Well done, Goro!

Great Series for the whole family to enjoy
My daugther found this randomly one day. We found it to be quite enjoyable for the whole family. The story is light hearted, funny, and interesting. It engages the viewers in the same way that The Lost Cities of Gold did, for those fans who are familiar with that series. There are twenty six 20 minute episodes in all but it will go by very quickly if you don't pay attention. This series is actually on Amazon Prime at the moment. However, everyone knows that streaming content changes all the time. We have watched this series enough times that it went into our own list to ensure we could watch it in the future in case its removed or we end our service. Its really is a gem of a series to enjoy.

Beautifully done
This masterpiece is one that we will love to rewatch many times. My kids ages 7 and 9 absolutely love the series. Very creative, beautifully illustrates and animated, and stunning to watch. The friendship that develops is inspiring for younger audiences and isn't the traditional children's sappy love story saga, with a prince and princess. Very relatable for kids, and they knocked it out of the park with this one! Highly recommend.

Beautiful and Whimsical
This series is the truest adaptation I have ever seen of any book, and Studio Ghibli did a fantastic job in the execution of it. Pure, slow-paced, and beautiful, a perfect series to watch as a family or on cozy nights at home.

Amazing
I've watched this a few times with my little one, she loves it, as do I. It was one of my favorite books growing up, and I'm glad for the opportunity to see this series.

A MUST for any Princess Mononoke or Spirited Away fan
Being that I'm an adult I wasn't expecting to like this, but I was wrong. You won't be disappointed.

good story about father/daughter relations and about friendship
A good story and I like the characters. Very nicely done. However, I think it should've said somewhere the original date in Japan of 2014-15, that I read on Wikipedia, for having the only date everywhere as 2019 was confusing as to how it could've been made then. I like, too, how it has a lot of slow scenes where you can enjoy the artwork, music, etc. The only real villain is the harpies, and they're not present a lot of the time so you often can enjoy a peaceful scene without worrying about someone evil coming in suddenly and putting an end to it. Which I like about most other Studio Ghibli movies, too. Good vs. evil is good also; just not every story has to be about that.
