Easy to install and works as should! Came with spare parts for different fits which was great because we had to rig somethings on our end and the extra parts allowed it to work out.

Great lock, I bought it to replace a cabinet lock I'd lost the key to and it was an easy install. It's built good, key slides in/out nicely and I have the use of my cabinet back! I was especially impressed by the low cost and the good quality which these days are words seldom synonymous. I could have gone to the hardware store but with the gas to drive down there and my being a 'Prime' member it was easier to order it here, this way I couldn't procrastinate on it as I had been doing for too long, when it came to the door, I pretty much had to put it in. besides, it was a little cheaper and anything to save a buck right? or 2 or 3. I highly recommend this, if you're anything like me, order it and when it comes in the mail stop whatever you're doing and install the damn thing!

Easy to install, even if your cabinet mount is a little different. Mine was a very old cedar closet used for clothing. I had to bend the one flat retainer piece to get just a bit more clearance. Worked fine, all secure.

We have actually bought two of these. The first one was used for a VHS/DVD cabinet that we lost the original key for. So, this particular item was perfect because the bracket piece was already on the cabinet. However, I didn't realize that the bracket side needed to be attached in a special way so when we purchased it for a similar cabinet to use for kids' books and craft items... it didn't work out. We don't have any way of attaching the bracket to the cabinet and when we tried to make a way... we ended up just ruining the entire thing. So, as long as you ONLY need the lock side of this then it is pretty good. However, if you need to use all of the pieces and try to attach it to something that did not previously have something like this installed... then it is not a great idea. On another note, the kids tried to unlock the DVD cabinet as soon as we installed this and ended up breaking one of the keys VERY easily. Good thing they sent two! If a kid can bend it with very little effort then these keys are unfortunately pretty cheap. I wasn't really expecting anything heavy duty but I was NOT expecting a young child to be able to bend the key so easily.

WORKS AS IT SHOULD WORK

Best combo for file cabinet replacement locks. Very hard to tell from pictures and descriptions, so I bought about 5 different kits. This one was most versatile and that one long tab is easy to bend into any shape you really need. I had an unusual lock box, which I wanted to keep. But, the key had been lost years ago. So, I drilled a 1/2 hole and fitted this in neatly. Looks good and works great. It can be configured multiple ways, including latching either to the right or left direction. Instructions included - not very good, but good enough.

Lock cylinder falls out and is too short to attach the stop link and lock arm. Poor engineering and a waste of time to try to make it work.

I took a risk on this hoping it would fit my Stack-On 14 gun safe since I couldn't see the rear. (I suggest adding photos to the ad that show this better) All dimensions were nearly identical to the original lock with the only differences being a slight bit of filing to get it to fit into the factory square locking bar hole and the rear attaches with a screw and not a nut like the original. All in all its a good buy for the quality you get and for my need it filled the role perfectly.

Made a parcel box out of filing cabinet and needed a lock.

For 1/2inch door its ok but for my door it does not fit
