good water bottle in kid- or adult-size; works fine for biking
My 4-yr.-old and I both have Nalgene OTF bottles (his in kid-size, mine this size). :) They're a little difficult for a young child's hands to manage (just the opening/closing mechanism), but they DO NOT LEAK a drop, which was my #1 priority! Very happy with these. He takes his to preschool. I think he can open/close better by himself when he is a year older or so. I use mine on my bike. I can drink from this and re-insert it in my bottle holder on my bike while still driving, so it is one-handed operation for adults.Great product. The plastic is thinner and more rigid than your typical biking water-bottle, but it seems tough and does have enough give to slide into the bottle holder.

Not Your Father's Water Bottle
This is by far the best water bottle I have ever owned. I have shopped around for years for a good water bottle and have come close to finding "the one," but have never truly succeeded. Then my girlfriend bought me this one. It was truly love at first sight (as was the case with my girlfriend). I have owned the Nalgene Titan OTG bottle and it was awful. I own the 32 ounce wide mouth bottle and, true to the name, the mouth is (too) wide. The On The Fly bottle has the perfect drinking circumference. It closes securely, and never, ever, ever, ever leaks. Like, ever. Opening and closing the lid is EXTREMELY easy, even with one hand, and with the state-of-the-art locking bale, you will never have another oopsie spill in your life. This bottle holds all kinds of liquids; like water and... other liquids, I suppose. I only use it for water. Which it is perfect for. Don't listen to any of those other quacks out there; I am a true water bottle connoisseur and I am telling all of you that if you buy any other water bottle, you WILL be greatly disappointed. Fact.

Perfect on the Go water bottle!
Nalgene On The Fly Water Bottle (Clear with Orange/White Cap) This water bottle is wonderful! Small enough to carry but also fits in my purse. It is leak proof and holds a good amount of water to not have to keep refilling too often. The spout to drink out of is small enough to not choke on water but big enough to be able to take big gulps is needed. When pressing the button to open the top to drink, the cap opens but doesn't pop up all the way. The button sticks a little but I don't see it as a big deal. Definitely love the color as it is my favorite but come in a variety of colors as well. It is easy to clean and very durable, as all my Nalgene bottles have never broken when dropped. Love it!

Almost perfect...it sometimes leaks.
Really nicely designed bottle. I go through about 2-3 liters of water a day and needed an on the go bottle. My biggest problem, most of them leak. I commute on the subway in NYC so I have a messenger bag I use to carry my water bottle. This is my 3rd one as the first two would leak regularly. They were the old school "bicycle" water bottles. So I thought I'd give this a try. The flip top and twist top opening looked great and work great. Makes carrying the bottle easy and cleaning a breeze. Just one thing. It leaks. Not once, not twice, but on a regular basis. I'm 6'3" and 215lbs and I have to tighten this bottle with all my strength to keep it from leaking, literally as hard as can squeeze it shut, otherwise it leaks if it is left on its side. The safety latch is great to keep it from accidentally opening in your bag or whatever, but be prepared to really crank down on the top if you don't want it leaking into your bag or car seat or wherever you have it where it isn't standing upright. The leak isn't from the sip top but from the main top. Beyond that I'm very happy with it. Easy to use at the gym or on the go. Very well made and designed. Just that leak is annoying.

Best water bottle I've had so far
This thing is great. I wanted something lightweight and spill proof to replace my Klean Kanteens, which were heavy, dented easily, and couldn't be opened or closed one-handed. This water bottle is nearly perfect in that regard. It regularly gets tossed carelessly into my messenger bag along with my laptop, camera, phone, etc and has never popped open. The cover unscrews for cleaning or for adding ice. It has measurement lines on the side. The offset carabiner loop helps reduce swinging if you like to hang it from your hip, as I do. It also feels quite sturdy and durable. As others have noticed it can be a little tricky to get that "click" out of it when you close the lid, and if you don't then it can pop open if the little metal retainer gets flipped down. However, since it's still the best water bottle I've ever come across despite that little problem (which is easy to get used to) I'm still giving it the full five stars.

but opening it single handedly *is* a bit awkward (unless it's sitting on something like a table
I had originally bought this to be a single-handed open bottle, but opening it single handedly *is* a bit awkward (unless it's sitting on something like a table, in which case it's pretty easy). Ultimately though, I have realized that I would rather have it be a bit less easy to open, in favor of having something that I know wont leak. This is constantly in or on my backpack. Sometimes I just tend to toss it onto my backpack. My backpack almost always has a fair amount of very expensive electronics (tablet, laptop, kindle), in it. But that just shows how much I trust that this mechanism is nice and leakproof. Other people have commented that over time, the ridge that has the little wire thing that holds the cap more tightly closed will wear out over time. So I have taken to just pushing the cap down a bit more, and then it slides on without scraping against the ridge (for a little effort, making the whole thing last longer). Other than that, not much to say. Its a typical nalgene bottle, not as rigid as their old style massive ones, but seemingly almost as durable. The size holds a nice amount of water, but its not too big. I personally sometimes will use the loop to hang it on a loop outside my backpack. Overall good purchase.

Suitable for office workers or students but not for rougher tasks
I like the overall shape, size, and build quality of this bottle. The ergonomics are good, and it pairs a well-sized drinking aperture with a screw-off lid, allowing for me to not pour water on myself when drinking and also clean the bottle. However, the latch mechanism design is unsuited to the abuse my water bottle endures. If you don't latch the steel tab, any contact will open the bottle (learned that the hard way tossing it on the passenger seat of my truck). If you do latch the steel tab, it is fairly sturdy, but a good whack will still pop it open. If you toss it down on grass or unpacked dirt from standing height, I'd say it opens one time in four. I really like not having to bend down to sent my water bottle down when working, so this is problematic for me. After the third or fourth pop-open, I went back to my old screw-top Nalgene. Interestingly Camelbak Chute tops seem to fit this, so I might give that a try. This top might be suitable for office work, but I found I need a much more rugged design.

Favorite bottle
This is one of my favorite water bottles. It is easy to clean by hand or dishwasher, can easily be opened and closed with one hand, and has an extra metal latch if you need to secure the lid in place for travel in a bag etc. I also like that the lid creates a carrying loop when closed. Perfect for walking around with it. I have several of these (the oldest is about 1.5 years old now and in constant use) and have yet to identify a problem. No leaks, no smells, no mold. The only "issue" is that it does sweat a little if filled with ice cold liquid, but that is to be expected, since it is not an insulated bottle.
