SteelSeries Limited Edition Keyset for the Shift Gaming Keyboard-World of Warcraft Cataclysm Edition

Great board. Programable/Macro. Built in WOW functions. Board looks like WOW. The board is easy to install, just unlock the original, pull out, and then slide this board (key set) in, lock in place and you are good to go. Pretty sure my cat could do this. (Except for the no thumb issue)

This is the 3rd keyset that my boyfriend has used on his keyboard. We bought the Zboard and a World of Warcraft keyset 6 years ago. Then he got the new WoW keyset and couple years later. Then a couple years after that he got this keyset. The Zboard was thee most gangster keyboard ever. I just bought him the new SteelSeries Apex keyboard for his birthday in October. He still had the Zboard until then :) He was upset that they didn't come out with a Pandaria keyset lol. But ya this and the whole Zboard itself was worth every penny and then some!!!

This keyset is a pretty nice one for the z-keyboard or the shift set from steel series. I personally have the z-board and this keyboard feels better than any other keyset that came with the original set. It took a bit of work to actually get this set to function with the zboard, but it finally works and is perfect for my gaming mmorpg's. You can even change the macros for whichever game you're playing. There are occasionally some weird moments when the keyboard decides to pull up notepad randomly, but this can be fixed by pulling up the keyset and then locking it back in. Overall its a good keyset, and it works well with the z-board. I'd suggest getting the shift series as a base in combination though.

I purchased the Steel Series WOW keyset for my new computer. I received the keyset and the Shift Keyboard on the same day. Out of the box, the Q and TAB keys did not work (which I believe was the fault of a bad Shift Keyboard). However, it was very easy to swap the keysets out and I think that it would be fun assuming that you receive a working product and have a Windows 7 or older computer. SteelSeries has recently discontinued this product and no longer offers it through their website. Another reason that I deducted stars from the review is SteelSeries themselves. I contacted them immediately after discovering the the keyboard was faulty. They recommended that I RMA it rather than send it back to Amazon and that they would replace it with the much more expensive World of Warcraft Wireless Gaming Mouse. This seemed like a fair deal to me, so I shipped the defective equipment to them. It's important to realize that SteelSeries only provides customer support through a messaging system on their website. It took them 2 months after receiving my product to send out a replacement, and I ended up receiving a much cheaper keyboard instead of the promised mouse. I contacted them again and they are currently in the process of correcting their mistake and sending out the mouse. It's been almost a month since I received the wrong keyboard and opened up the case again. Still waiting on the promised mouse. In short, this company really doesn't have their act together and they are definitely not a good place to go if you need service. There is no excuse for taking 2 months to respond to an issue and then providing the wrong product on top of it all. I don't imagine that I will be buying a product from them again.

I have all the key insert sets, burning crusade and wrath of the lich king and others I don't use except for normal computer use. The cataclysm keyset has a faster response and smoother action than the others. I gave it 3 stars because the F5 thru F12 emote 2 have software gliches and do not perform as were intended. Steelseries has insured me they are working on this. Also, the raid functions seem to have software issues too. Instead of going to raid chat it goes to the last person you chatted with even if that was in another realm or land. The others have equal problems in the raid functions. SteelSeries have great developers and is a great company. Yet, we as customers, still identify and hopefully get the updates and software fixes from SteelSeries when this is fixed. I would encourage anyone who wants to buy this cataclysm board PLEASE DO SO. OTHER THAN THE SMALL GLITCHES, YOU WILL BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED OF ITS SMOOTHNESS OF ACTION AND EASY USE. I bought this over 16 days ago and it hasn't worked. I have the zboard keyset and according to this item info it should work fine. Well it hasn't and so far no one has helped me. I opened a support ticket since they do not have a phone number to call and I have not received 1 response in 16 days. I sent a complaint to the corporate office and tomorrow I am returning this item because it doesn't work. If you check the last time I reviewed an item was almost 4 years ago. I just don't review, but when I feel like I am being disrespected or mistreated by anyone then I have to step in and warn people. If you can get this key set to work then more power to you. Me and everyone who knows me is going to know I am done buying anything SteelSeries. The FAQs for this was a joke. There was only 2 questions that KIND OF helped with troubleshooting. The rest of the questions made me feel like I was actually stupid. A question like "What can I expect from SteelSeries and the Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft?" is not going to help me trouble shoot my current problem. There are many more useless questions then this one right here. It is sick that this is happening. I am not a mean guy and I really don't like talking bad about something but I couldn't keep this to myself. Buyers be warned.

Purchased but had to return because you need a specific key board to use it on, one of which I did not have. Still, it looks really cool and folds out easily, and the company was very kind and helpful when I had to return the product.

Was bought as a gift and receiver loved it. Had a chance to use it myself and key strokes are very smooth. Though for anyone out there that gets it you have to download the Steel Series Engine to their shift board if you are using the original Zboard with it.

I bought this not paying complete attention to the fact its just a keyset (new to gaming computer accessories) I am oing to buy the keyboard but for now cannot give much of a review other than the fact that it was packaged well and is in perfect condition. I will update when I have the chance to use it.
