Red, Green, Blue, and everything in-between!
I recently did a full upgrade of my gaming rig. I am a professional gamer and demand performance from all my components. I also want to make my components show-off during showcasing. My Corsair 540 HAF case showcases my components beautifully with the NZXT Hue. The package comes with the drive bay Hue controller, all the cords already attached to the controller, and a long roll LED light strip with 3M adhesive backing. I adhered the light strip inside my case with ease and installed the controller with no problem. This will save you a headache: When you are connecting the light strip to the controller, make sure that the 'arrow' lines up with the '+' symbol that is on the light strip connection end. You can connect the controller to either end of the LED strip but make sure that the arrow is directly pointing at the "+" symbol on the LED strip end!!!!! You will notice if you did not do this correctly if you are not getting all the colors. For me, I was not getting the blue color. Once I flipped the connectors and properly connected the ends, all the colors worked flawlessly. The front part of the controller is aesthetically pleasing as well. The color of your hue is also shown through the controller's front grill with a soft light that mirrors the color currently displayed within the case. I usually use the soft-rotation mode where all the spectrums of color are displayed after one-another with seamless color transitions. For the cost you are getting a great high quality controller that provides you with the ability to create a great showcase rig. Even if you are not going out to events to showcase your rig, this controller is a cheap and quality way to enjoy the internal components of your rig. All connectors and wires are long enough to reach throughout my Corsair 540 case. Overall, this controller has outperformed my expectations. The cost is a plus but the quality of the light, color, and control is amazing! I highly recommend NZXT and recommend this controller to anyone who wants to enjoy the internal components of their beautiful machine.

Great Product, Super Bright!
Awesome, awesome, product. First off, I have a NZXT Phantom full sized tower which by any stretch of the imagination is not small at all. The colors are great, cable length is more than enough to run around the frame of my tower with some extra room to run around anywhere, and my personal favorite is that it blends in with the bezel design of the Phantom optical drives. These LEDs are extremely bright and when all the lights are turned off in my room, my case literally turns my whole room blue (the color I have it set to). I was originally going to buy a single two meter LED strip for about $15. However, after I saw this product on YouTube I just had to have it. Although I spend $30 on this, it was way, way more worth it than buying a single color LED strip. Why? Because you have all the colors of the rainbow of course! You are able to fine tune the colors to whichever color you want with the three RGB knobs. Not only that, but there are a bunch of different effects. Normal, flashing, pulsating, flashing color cycle, and pulsating color cycle. I am extremely glad I spent the extra money for all of these extra features. The ONLY con about this product is that the adhesive it comes with sucks. However, I am not going to dock a star off or anything because of this because this is nothing a little tape can't fix! Other than that, this product is great and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking to buy case LEDs for their case.

Mood lighting for your PC
I never considered any kind of lighting in my past computer builds. Then again, I never really built systems with side windows. My current build is housed in a Corsair Vengeance C70 with a custom clear side window. I spent a lot of time choosing components and managing cables. Once I was happy with my build I realized I couldn't really see the fruits of my labors without my flashlight. I've began to see other (pre-built) systems at a big box retailer with lighting and began to think, my system looks superior to these pre-built systems. I began looking into various lighting kits but didn't want to pick a color then be stuck with it in case I changed my mind later down the line. I stumbled on the Hue thanks to Amazon's suggestion feature and it offered everything I was looking for. Pros: Easy use and access to controls via the front panel Offers Broad range of colors to choose from (depending on mood) Ability to turn off or adjust brightness levels (5 levels) Easy installation SATA power Long RGB strip (will wrap all the way around perimeter of the Veneance C70 case with enough to spare) Only 1 Con: Adhesive on the RGB strip is utter garbage. Used 3M automotive mounting tape (grey) with great results. Not really a Con but I found that the different flashing modes to be gimmicky and not really necessary. Pulsing was ok, but a little too quick for my tastes. All in all a great way to light up my case to see my goodies. Great for the indecisive and a good price too considering you can pretty much choose whatever color you want on a whim.

Fantastic solution for LED lighting
I was hesitant to go this route, but I'm glad I did. This unit works by having three separate, individual tiny LEDs at each "color point" along the lighting strip. There is a red LED, a green LED, and a blue LED clustered together. You turn the knobs on the front to adjust the brightness of each individual color (from completely off to very bright). The reviewers who have said that there is no true white are somewhat correct on that point. However, and I feel this is an important distinction, the lights look great if the LEDs are hidden from the window view on your case (as they usually are) and just their light is illuminating in the case. By the time the light from the separate LEDs bleeds together and reflects off the inside of your case, it does appear to be lit with one unified color of your choosing. With infinite possibilities. That's pretty clever. The control unit is high quality. I have it in a Corsair Obsidian case and even with the little bit of mesh on its front panel, it looks great with the case. I'm certain that it would look great with a case with more robot-esque flare and mesh if you have that, too. In addition to each knob controlling the brightness of red, green, and blue lights, the knobs can also be pushed in like buttons. Pushing the knobs has the following effect: RED (left) -- cycles through brightness levels (five of them)\ GREEN (middle) -- hold it in for about 2 seconds to turn the whole thing off or back on BLUE (right) -- cycles through various modes (flashing, pulsing, color changing, etc.) I find most of these settings to be childish or not very classy, but I'm sure my kids will enjoy it. PROs: * Change colors to fit your mode * Adjust brightness levels * Ability to turn off completely * High quality construction! * Does not use a molex connector for power! It uses a SATA connector as any modern computer component should. CONs: * Blended lights (not purely red, green, or blue; but combinations thereof) really only look good if one looks at the finished installation shining light around the inside of the computer case. Looking directly at the LEDs, one can see that there are multiple LEDs working together to make the color combinations. It's not ugly, but the best effect is when you see your components glowing with the desired color. Other thoughts: * Cheaper than replacing your fans with LED fans, potentially much cheaper if you already have numerous case fans

Great RGB LED Bay Kit
This product was heavily researched before I finally bought it. I wanted something to provide more direct LED control as well as something different in my computer case. This product is very simple yet offers so many features. I would highly recommend this product, LED strip is very long and can wrap nearly all the way around your computer case. The 3M sticky tape on the back of the LED strip is rock solid and holds even inverted upside down very well. The connector to the bay control device is clear and easy to understand exactly how it connects with a small arrow to show the Positive (+) lead so you can connect without making a mistake. The bay mounts effortlessly and works well with tool less drive bay designs in cases. The only issue I found was clear instructions as to the way the control knobs work. The simple instructions tend to be slightly confusing if you only glance at them and don't take your time to fully read them. The control knobs have dual functions so read the instructions carefully so you understand exactly how the knobs work and you will be perfectly fine.

Great to look at, garbage adhesive. Must have double sided tape.
For the TL;DR crowd: Pros: Looks amazing Easy to install the hub, decent directions Powers with SATA connector Recessed control knobs, so it won't stick out if you have a case with a door If you buy 2, you can chuck the extra hub and double your cable length. Lots of settings to fiddle around with and option to turn off completely Cons: Plastic is not very durable Did not come with mounting screws Adhesive is terrible and will require you to invest in quality double-sided/mounting tape Hard to fit in corners, but with patience it will work out fine Lights are spaced pretty far apart, would be nice if it had more lights I discovered this item while researching for my first computer build. I watched a few YouTube videos of it in action, decided I had to have it. The LED strip adds a really nice wow factor if you are not keen on LED fans, especially if you are using a white case. The controller was easy to install, though wish the plastic was more durable. It's pretty clever to have it powered by SATA versus molex in my opinion. But during my install, a corner of the SATA plug popped off while routing it through an opening in the 5.25 bay. It still worked but I was alarmed that barely any force would damage it. Finding a way to get the LED strip to stick to the case is where the really frustrating issues are, and the reason why I gave only 3 stars. The adhesive is very weak and barely sticks to the sides and top of the case, doubly so if you have a painted case. If I had to compare it, I would say the adhesive is less sticky than garden variety Scotch Tape. I would advise investing in some heavy duty permanent mounting tape or double-sided tape. The LED strip feels sturdy and is cased well, but, perhaps because of this, does not bend into corners neatly. Best advice after having spent quite a while fiddling with it is DO NOT remove the backing from the LED strip until you figure out exactly how you want it routed, plug it in and make sure that it looks ok, then add the additional tape to the back of the strip and paste down in one direction (give additional length for corners} Considering the cheap/low durability plastic that it's made of, weak adhesive, and LED Strip that is hard to bend around corners, I would say this item is reasonably overpriced, but if you're building in a windowed case, you've already chosen form over functionality. Armed with the right information, I would still purchase again.

Much easier than DIY
I was originally going to outfit my case with color changing LEDs DIY-style, but then I found this product and it's much much simpler (and actually more affordable, in my instance). You can buy analog RGB LED controllers and lighting strips from any number of online retailers, including a great variety here on Amazon. Wiring them up is really pretty straightforward - I was just going to buy a 4-pin molex adapter and solder it to the controller to get a 12V-in inside my case, and Dremel a spot in my case panel for the controller. That, however much geek cred it would give, is a total PITA compared to the Hue. The NZXT Hue is an analog RGB LED controller designed to fit in a PC case 5.25" bay. As far as I know, it is the first product of this type (an RGB controller designed specifically for the PC enthusiast market). It comes with a SATA power connector to power the device and a 4-pin cable to plug into the included (!) LED strip. So instead of buying a controller, buying a strip, buying wiring, soldering everything together, borrowing a rotary tool and cutting up my case even more, I just bought this! Slapped it into the spare bay between my optical drive and fan controller, run the LEDs inside my case and hey presto. No, it doesn't have a touch color wheel or an infrared remote... but it's under $35 for everything you need to give your case color-changing interior lighting. And it's really a pretty good controller, too. The controller has 5 brightness levels and several different modes (flashing, fading, solid, etc.), and the LEDs can be turned off completely when you need to sleep (or whatever). The knobs both rotate and function as push buttons - the rotation is a bit loose, while the push button is a solid (but not obnoxiously loud) click. Build quality is excellent for the price - it's not a sold block of machined aluminum or anything, but everything works, the finish is good, it looks sharp in any case with a black front panel, and nothing electrical has failed as of yet (only a few months so far, so we'll see). Now, there are other ways of lighting up your case that may be a better option for you personally, depending on what you are going for. But if you want changeable colors, then RGB LEDs are pretty much your only option. If you want color changing fans, then you're still going to have to hack that together yourself... but for general interior lighting, the Hue is a great product.

complete waste of money
complete waste of money, the lighting strip is of a bad quality, it will not stick to your case, the 3M back tape is very bad and it will end up falling no question to that! on another level, the lighting strip is very long with no connectors, i had difficulties running it behind the rear fan the strip is a bit thick, I had to remove the rear fan to mount it, then remount the fan. Since the strip is just one dumb long block, u will to twist it at some parts to fit behind the fan. I have a full tower and it was hard to fit in, so if you have a mid-tower... In addition that the strip looks soldered in the middle, you will immediately notice that it looks like originally they planed it to be half the length it actual got today, then they decide to make it longer, so instead of having one nice aesthetic strip you have one that is soldered in the middle, the result is a good 3 to 4 inches with no leds whatsoever on that section, they should have left it 2 pieces with a connection wire between them not just force it into one long meaningless strip. In regards to lighting, the leds are not very bright compared to other brands, so it is not the best system. In regards to switching between colors, it is not practical and annoying, you have to turn the nob definitively to get to the color you want, or rely on the cycle and be lucky to stop it at the color you like. For 5 days after installation and every time I turn on my PC, I had to re-press the 3M tape to stick it back to the case... 5 days it took and i think that's way over patience, when u pay u expect quality, so I just had enough, took it out, threw it, bought another reputable brand, their lighting system is much better and more convenient. If you see good reviews its probably because they haven't tested other brands. Don't buy, it will end up in your trash bin.

Beautifully done NZXT
An assortment of functions. Just don't expect to individually address the LEDs. None of the functions even suggest this is possible. The possible colours are nice though and they give decent enough lighting to light up my large full tower case. Just as an fyi they're currently in a Rosewill B2 Spirit. NZXT has made a nice product with this RGB strip and I expect the Hue+ to be even better. Since the Hue+ is out I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to buy these unless you really can't afford the Hue+. I can't remember which nozzle has which functionality, but I do know that pressing one of them will adjust the brightness of your LEDs which is honestly a nice touch. I usually have them on a lower brightness and they don't feel like they're too dim. Still providing a nice amount of lighting to the case itself. If this were still pre Hue+ I'd fully recommend this RGB strip.
