1/4'' - 20 tpi Power Drive Threaded Insert Tool

I wanted to use some steel inserts and decorative bolts in my bunk beds so they could be disassembled for moving. The inserts are hard to install with screw driver or a bolt with nuts to drive them in. I begin to look on line for a driver and found this Power drive threaded insert tool. I ordered it and it works great in my dewalt drill. You just have to go slow to keep it straight, but it screws the inserts in easy and straight. I found this through Rockler, but you have to put the full name in for it to come up. I highly recommend this driver to fellow wood workers.

I haven't used this tool yet. I generally drive threaded fasteners with a bolt and a washer as this is very fast. That said, you can't remove the fasteners that way, so this tool will fill the bill when I want to remove some. Looks like it will work just fine.

This tool works great. Before, I tried installing the threaded inserts with a screwdriver, but usually broke the inserts. With this tool, the inserts go in easy and quickly, and are easily removed.

This insert tool does not work with the EZ LOK 1/4-20 threaded brass inserts. The flanges on the tool are too thick to fit into the slots on the threaded insert.

I needed this tool to complete a dining table i was making. The tool performed like it was designed. Ordering from Amazon is great.
