Gerber's premier quality pocket knife at an great price. Nothing else comes close !
Exceptional pocket knife, superior quality lasts forever, great for work, play or any reason.. Gerber's premier quality pocket knife p at an great price.. Why pay more elsewhere! Recommended for any age, 14 - 94. This is THE pocket knife for your daughter, mother, brother or son.. Your father can get his own... I have given these away to Admin assistants gals at offices for opening boxes. They love it and would never ever consider giving it to their husbands or boyfriends. So Buy it and us it, you will love it. Update: There are two knives from Gerber which are stellar in value and performance The Gerber Ripstop I Knife, Fine Edge [22-41614] is really good, sharp and is a great knife for carry by man or woman.. I have bought over 10 of the knives and given them away as presents to my children and even the USPS mail lady. Everyone love it. The Gerber Paraframe I Knife, Fine Edge, Stainless Steel [22-48444] is just simply exceptional in size, sharpness and function... This knife if for a person with a large hard so it is not suited well for a small woman or child, where the Gerber Ripstop I Knife, Fine Edge [22-41614] is the best choice. Needless to say these are my choice knives and I have bought many to figure out which is best for me. You will not go wrong with the purchase of either. Hank Freeman

Great Cheap Little EDC Knife.
It is the perfect size to carry and weighs nearly nothing. The blade is just the perfect length to do just about anything you need, unless of course you are Crocodile Dundee, or looking strictly for a hunting knife. The blade is high carbon steel and holds an edge for a long time. With it's un-serrated edge it can be sharpened the entire length. I really don't care for serrated blades unless it's on a steak knife. It came out of the package sharp enough to shave arm hair. While closed, the knife is just perfect for pocket carry without being bulky, heavy, or making your pockets bulge. I carry a lot of stuff with me at all times and I don't need any extra weight or bulk in my pockets. The only drawback is that it is so lightweight that you might not notice when you have forgotten to put it back in your pocket. When I say lightweight I don't mean flimsy. This thing is solid! Once broken in, it's a snap to open and close one (right) handed and locks into place securely. The finish isn't shiny or "chrome", so it keeps up it's appearance even if carried with other junk in your pocket. After years of carrying this knife, it still looks great and I still have people ask me to see it. I don't leave home or even put my pants on in the morning without this knife. You could buy a more expensive knife. I don't know what more you could get from spending more money since this knife does exactly what it's supposed to do. I've had some pretty expensive knives in my time and this cheap one performs well. If you're looking for a cheap knife that won't upset you if lost or broken, this may be a good option.

Excellent blade!
Great pocket knife. Small, super sharp and easy to open. Closing it is a bit tricky, though, and the only thing preventing a 5-star score.

Great for the money
This is the knife that I carry daily. It's perfect for clipping into the side of my pocket and staying there. Other knives I've had lacked the "clip strength" to stay put and not fall out of my pocket. The knife itself is a 4 star product; the low price makes it worthy of the final star. Because I carry a knife every day I typically have to buy a new one every other year (on average). The knife holds up just fine but I always end up losing it somewhere along the way. The blade itself takes and keeps a decent edge. I send mine through the wash all the time and have never had any issue. Opening it with one hand is a little difficult, as mentioned elsewhere, but most of the time I don't mind and the boxes I have to open or string I have to cut can wait the few seconds for me to take the extra step of using two hands. I have better knives but for the money this is a great product. FYI - it was deemed too large for me to carry on the plane at the Atlanta airport and was taken from me. That's actually why I'm here buying a new one. If you are looking for a good knife to keep in your pocket that won't cause any lost sleep if you lose it, go with this one.

Good lightweight EDC knife.
Great everyday carry knife for me. Lightweight, easy to grip, and small enough that I can clip it into my pocket and nobody notices, even me. It won't weigh down my purse if I'm not wearing jeans and have to keep it there. It's easy to open, which is very important. I've had a few knives that I had to open by hooking my fingernail under a slot, and I hate it. That's okay for a multitool but not what I want on a knife. If you think you don't really need a knife to carry around, grab this inexpensive one and see how much you'll use it over the course of a month. One star - product is dangerous and should be off the market or never exist at all Two stars - product is good in concept but has very bad quality or fell apart quickly Three stars - I wouldn't buy it again, no serious defects, just not as nice as most other products of its type, or super cheaply built and I think it won't hold up over time Four stars - I like it but would change one or two things. Would recommend with a caveat Five stars - Good quality, good value, would recommend to others

would give six and a half stars
Got mine a few days ago and was very surprised and pleased at the quality of this blade, I got it for Edc not self defense just a cutting tool for anything I need to cut pocket clip is strong and didn't fall out of my pocket after canoeing today (thank goodness) has dual thumb studs so you can open with either hand (you only need to open with one hand) it's a little harder on the left side because the clip is in the way. The liner lock however is incredibly unique the clip side of the handle is the locking mechanism, the handle locks the blade in place. Because of this the knife, as far as I have been able to tell, can only be closed if you use both hands. Nice little safety feature if you think about it, took some time getting used to it but I adapted quickly. And it's second nature. Came sharp enough to shave with although I wouldn't want to shave my face with it, cut through some chest hair though. Came in retail packaging and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

and I really want to like it. Once deployed
I just received this knife today, and I really want to like it. Once deployed, it's quite difficult to engage the frame lock to close. It's takes quite a bit of pressure. Also, the knife was extremely dull right out of the package. I tried to open a letter, and the knife demolished the envelope. I own a wide assortment of folding knives from many manufacturers, and I've never received one this dull before. Any Kershaw or Spyderco knife I've bought has been quite sharp at the time of purchase. I understand that factory edges aren't always shaving sharp, but a knife this dull is dangerous and unacceptable. I will say that the knife seems sturdy and solid, lock up is tight, and there is no blade play. I will sharpen it myself as well as open and close it a few hundred times and see if it becomes easier to close. If so, I may update this review. By the way, this knife is my first Gerber knife. Not all that impressed, honestly. I guess you get what you pay for. This knife cost me $11.72 plus tax. Update 5/15/16: I have changed my mind a bit about this knife. I'm starting to like it. After opening and closing it several hundred times, it's started loosening up. And it's loose enough for me to open and close it with one hand. The frame lock was incredibly stiff when I received it. I have tried my hardest to put a sharp edge on it to no avail. It's somewhat sharp but still will not slice through a sheet of paper. Frustrating. It's that darn Gerber steel! I have no problem sharpening my Case and Kershaw knives with my stones. Oh well. Not a huge deal since I carry this as a back up knife to my back up knife. It does feel like a sturdy knife. Will keep carrying it.

Best little Gerber since my mini-paraframe
So I have a tiny paraframe. I wish I would have bought 3 of them when I bought mine. I cannot find them anywhere any more. They are perfect for daily use in every way as a daily gentleman's pocket knife. Light, easy-opening, and thumb tab avail. Also a clip if you like that. This is the next best thing and close enough. Seriously? At this price you cannot go wrong. Solid knife. $8? You will have to work it a bit to get it to loosen up but I have found that PTFE spray works well to hasten the process. Great knife, durable, perfect for pockets.
