2" Dia Sorbothane Hemisphere Rubber Bumper Non-Skid Feet with Adhesive (4, 30 Duro)

I live in an old house with creaky hardwood floors. Due to space constraints, my turntable sits on a CD player that sits on large vintage floor speaker. I've spent the last year trying to DIY a solution for vibration and needle skips. Nothing worked. It was bad; anyone walking by or even moving on the couch would skip a record. To add to complication, I have a 3 year old that loves to run/jump/dance whenever any music is on. I bought these rubber feet in desperation and with little confidence they would work. Whoa. These are amazing! They resolved 100% the issues. I can play a record with no skips - with people walking around, dancing, even light jumping. What can I say? These brought my record collection back to life.

I have spent a lot of time with sorbothane both footers and stick-on pieces and I find that these footers are the best Sorb footers I have encountered. These are used for two different but related uses. Some are used under things like turntables to eliminate feedback from speakers through floors into the shelves and the turntable. If you have this problem, and some kinds of flooring are worse than others. We recently removed the carpet from our cement floors and installed ceramic floor tiles. Suddenly the peformance of a CD player deteriorated markedly. I used some old sorbothane footers and the problem went away. The other use which is less well understood in the US at least ( some British manufacturers seem quite up on it) is microphonics, i.e. the effect of vibrations from things like motors (in ttables and cd players) platters in ttables, transformers and possibly even AC cycling on the operation of circuits. Naim, a respected British hi-fi source is worth looking up for its discussions of these problems. Their stuff is good but expensive. Rather than buying new equipment I am retrofitting many things, amps, cords, cd players and speakers with sorbothane. I recommend using the heaviest grade of sorbothane, i.e. 70 duro. In fact a technical representative from the Sorbothane company recommended this to me. Adhesive makes sorb work better. The 3M thin double-sided tape used here is fine. However the seller has sent me three batches now without the adhesive and is not responding to my complaints. Since I have the industrial adhesive Lord 7650 that Sorbothane recommends this is not a big problem for me but it would be for others. The Lord adhesive is expensive, somewhat difficult to use and has a short shelf life after opened. I need it more for adding sorb to cases and the like. 70 Duro, 1/4 or 1/2 inch sorb cut into small pieces, (less than 1" on any dimension) is in many ways better than footers and cheaper. Constrained damping, i.e wrapping the top and side of the sorb in 4 layers of electrical tape adds a large level of improvement as well.

The answer is, “I think so”, or maybe I want it to because I spent so much on it to help reduce the vibration and subsequent squeaking of my wood floors when the bass hits. I put these on my 15” subwoofer, and then I have a peice of carpet underneath that. It appears to help with the squeaking for most the bass, but it still squeaks for the consistent low frequency bass. I’m waiting for more to arrive so I can put it on my monitors and house speakers.

Now I know I am likely using this product outside it's intended use but for the purpose I have these did not work as I had hoped. My goal was to replace the leg system on a Bit Fenix prodigy case with something more stable. When these arrived the first thing I noticed was they are a lot softer than I expected, there is a lot of give in these. The result was that while the case now longer sways side to side, it does still shift some to the side when putting in USB devices using the front access. The system is more stable but still has a mushy feel to it as well. Another issue I found is that the material these are made out of is very tacky. This is good in the fact that the case does not slide anywhere. However it is bad in the fact that trying to pick up the case you have to overcome a stick down effect. When I pick my case up from my desk, which has a glass top, the top tries to come with it. These get the job done but for the money I would spend an extra $10 and get proper case feet.

Frankly, I'm shocked at how well these work. I use them as turntable feet. I have an old Pioneer PL-518 record player. The rubber on the old feet disintegrated, so I've been trying to find a reliable way to isolate the thing ever since. I've got hardwood floors with a lot of give where the table lives. Basically any movement within 2-3 meters transferred. After adding the sorbothane hemispheres, nothing short of jumping up and down in front of it will cause a vibration significant enough to affect playback. Great product.

My independent laptop cooling fan seized up recently, and rather than purchase another one, I thought I'd try these bumpers as an alternate solution for improved airflow, alternate slanted positioning of the keyboard, and vibration/shock absorption. I installed two of the adhesive backed bumpers to the underside of my laptop, at the back corners, taking care not to block access to the battery compartment nor any area that may facilitate future repair. I found the added height was exactly what I was looking for; providing slight elevation at the back of the laptop, somewhat similar to the back folding feet of a regular computer keyboard, offering a more pleasing and comfortable position for hands and wrists. The bumpers also added some cushion and "give", making typing seem less fatiguing. And, my ultimate goal; the airspace provided by elevating the rear of the computer is enough to reduce or alleviate the "heat problem" associated with laptops placed on flat surfaces. An added bonus is that with the bumpers attached to the laptop, transporting it is a lot less cumbersome since I no longer have to tote around a separate slant board, fan or cooling device. Of note: the bumpers are a tad bit "sticky" when first installed (rounded bottoms are slightly "tacky" and may temporarily stick to your table surface), but with one month of continued use, I have found this is no longer an issue. (The manufacturer recommends placing something underneath the bumpers, to protect your desk surface.) All in all, a great solution for some of the "quirks" associated with laptops. Now, what to do with the two remaining 2" bumpers from the package... perhaps I'll reserve them for replacement on my laptop in the event the need arises, or ... maybe install them (and a few of the smaller SORBOTHANE BUMPERS) to my printer to see if they can alleviate some of the noise and jerky vibration associated with that device.

I have a large bamboo cutting board and it was always slipping around on my granite countertops. I searched on Amazon and found these rubber bumpers and they work perfectly!! I peeled off the paper on the flat sticky end and stuck one in each corner and let it sit for 24 hours to set the glue. The next day I flipped it back onto the granite and it stayed put! Never moves unless I want it to move. Highly recommend.

I set my turntable up on a large credenza sitting on a wooden floor. The house is old, and unfortunately the floors under the credenza are a little bouncy. That meant even the lightest step in the area of the turntable would cause the record to skip. I did a lot of research on these and other tricks to avoid skipping and frankly was skeptical these would work. A lot of what I read said I would almost certainly need to move the turntable somewhere else or try mounting it directly on the wall. Neither was a good option for me. But, I put four of these under my turntable feet (an Audio Technica 120LP), and it actually worked! They did not eliminate skipping caused by walking very heavily near the turntable, but now I can at least walk normally near and around the turntable while listening to music. The one negative is these things are a sticky, and I read complaints elsewhere about staining furniture over time. I ended up sticking clear rubber bumpers (like the kind you see on the inside of a cabinet door) in between the sorbos and the credenza to protect the finish.

I have used these to raise a glass draining board base high enough to drain into the kitchen sink. The feet stick firmly to the glass and there is good resistance to sliding on the worktop below. There have been no problems over several weeks now. I am happy with the product.

These feet are amazing! I honestly wish that I had known about Sorbothane 10 years ago, because it would have solved so many vibration related issues throughout the years. After reading about all the different methods of isolating equipment, speakers and appliances from vibrations I bought a few different sets of Sorbothane feet to see if it was worth the hype and I am so glad that I did. I will definitely be a returning customer, and I have already started to recommend it to others. It is worth noting the weight ratings, and durometer ratings, of the products that you are looking at, because they are important for the end results. Also, they are sticky, but hardly anything to worry about. I could see them potentially harming wood finishes and things of that nature, but if you are planning to use them on something like wood you can wrap them in cellophane, or place a coaster underneath them to stop that. Overall, Sorbothane is an awesome product, and if you have any need for vibration damping there is a Sorbothane product that is made for it. I highly recommend it, and I will be buying more in the future.

Ich habe mit diesen Dämpfungsfüßen aus Sorbothan meine Lautsprecher vom Parkettboden entkoppelt. Das funktioniert hervorragend! Es dröhnt nichts mehr, es schwingt nichts mehr mit, das Klangbild ist konturierter und gerade die Bässe kommen jetzt präziser. Man muss aber die Puffer auf das Gewicht der Boxen abstimmen, um das optimale Resultat zu erzielen. Auf der Website des Herstellers Isolate it findet man Empfehlungen, mit welchem Gewicht die jeweiligen Füße belastet werden sollten. Meine Lautsprecher wiegen jeweils rund 56 KG. Für die hier rezensierten Füße gibt Isolate IT eine Range von 25 bis 38 Pfund (lbs) an, also ca. 11 KG - 17 KG. Der "Sweetspot" der Dämpfungsfüße liegt in der Mitte, also bei rund 14 KG. Das macht bei vier Füßen ca. 56 KG, das ist fast eine Punktlandung für meine Lautsprecher. Es ist wohl noch besser, wenn man mit einem möglichst geringen Härtegrad (30 Duro ist besser als 70 Duro) an den "Sweetspot" des Gewichts hinkommt. In meinem Fall wären das die Puffer mit 2,5 Zoll Breite und 1,25 Zoll Höhe gewesen, wo ich in der Duro 30 Version auf ca 54.5 KG gekommen wäre. Die habe ich aber nirgends zum Bestellen gefunden. Ich bin aber auch nicht wirklich traurig, da ich mit meinen "harten" 70er Duro sehr zufrieden bin.
