These Lug Nuts Make Your Car Look It's Best and add security as well
My Wife's 2018 Ford Flex Limited came with the appearance package which adds 20" high gloss black wheels to the car. I thought it looked funny with chrome lug nuts so I thought I would change them up. Received these and installed them the next day and they look absolutely amazing on the car! I'm glad I made this the first modification to my Wife's car and I like the fact that it came with the wheel locks as well. Very high quality product, finish looks amazing. We bought her car in May and in July I purchased a 2019 Ford Flex Limited with the same appearance package, so I definitely will be purchasing another set for my car!

Use at your own risk. Wheel lock key broke in wheel lock and CS charged for a replacement
TLDR: wheel lock key snapped in wheel lock and then Customer Service determined it was user error or shop error. Refused to do the right thing and send a warranty replacement due to a faulty product. Price for replacement key was ~$15 with standard shipping. The wheel lock key was used in two instances, once for initial installation and now this time for removal where the key failed. I will not use McGard products again.I ordered this a couple years ago but recently had the entire kit installed when I had my wheels painted by a professional shop. The shop works on high end vehicles and uses torque wrenches/bars instead of air tools. Needless to say, they follow torque specs and are very familiar with installing lug nuts to spec.Initially, I felt the installation kit was good quality and looked nice. The black on black was aesthetically pleasing. I had the wheel installation kit installed roughly 6 months ago. This past weekend, I went to replace my front brakes and rotors. I was able to loosen up the wheels locks and other lug nuts without issue before lifting on the Jack to finish removing them. That is when the wheel lock key snapped off inside of the wheel lock. I am a stranger from the internet but I made sure not to brute force anything especially since they were newer and I did not want to recklessly scuff anything. So now, I need a replacement key and need to remove the stuck metal from the wheel lock. Or if I am unable to that, I then have to extract the wheel lock itself. Extremely frustrating.I then called today (Monday bc they are closed on the weekend) customer service (CS) and it seems their go to line is to blame the customer or a shop. Even more frustrating. Not only did the product fail in a situation it is designed for, it is now user error!?!? What a way to stand behind a “quality” product. Granted, I am sure they deal with less than desirable customers but what happened to me was clearly a fault in the product. It was only used TWICE, once to install the wheels locks the first time, and this aforementioned time where they failed. The lug nuts themselves seem ok but as I have said, they are fairly new so I am unable to determine their durability. Needless to say, I will not use McGard products again. Please be aware and use at your own risk.

Nice upgrade from chrome.
I bought these along with the locks for my 2015 Ford Taurus SHO to replace the factory chrome ones. Out of the 16 lug nuts and 4 locks, I had 1 that the black coating either had chipped off or wasn't applied fully. This was down at the open end and once on the hub, you can't see it. Time will tell if it and the rest hold up and don't flake. If you are using the locks, make sure you put the special socket on the lock and FULLY seat it before you attempt to tighten it. It takes a bit to get it just right and fully seated on there. When you put these and the locks on, I would advise against using any kind of impact tool. 1st reason is because of the coating or marring up the lugs. The 2nd is because over torqing these can result in warped rotors and a vibration. Use a torque wrench and torque them in 2 steps. 60lb ft and then 100lb ft.The black look on the SHO factory 20 inch wheels looks great and they blend in well. The locks do stick out a bit more than the other lugs, but they look great and that little bit of added extra security is a plus.

they look great and I believe the rust issue will not be ...
Product arrived ahead of delivery date. This wheel lug and lock kit are of the highest quality in appearance and material. I purchased these for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The factory capped lugs are trouble waiting to happen. They will twist off and rust below the caps which make them very difficult to remove. Not to desirable on a cold rainy night with a flat tire. I replaced the factory lugs with solid lugs from carquest, which started to rust the second week after installation afew months later they looked awful, basically cheap inferior chrome from china. I purchased this Mcgard set to replace the rusty carquest lugs for the same money. I should have bought these to begin with, they look great and I believe the rust issue will not be a factor. Problem solved with Mcgard!

These are quality wheel lugs. I’ve had no issues with them on my 2012 Wrangler with 37” BFG tires.
