Hot Rod Roots: A Tribute to the Pioneers Hardcover – November 15, 2007

I bought this book for my Dad who is interested in cars and the history of race cars. My uncle ..his older brother is actually mentioned in this book so it was even more special for that reason. It gives a historical account of the race cars in the US and was well written.

A varied selection of photos,plus several essays,make this worthwhile for folks wanting a general view of hot rodding's beginnings.The essays and accompanied photos on early track roadster racing and belly-tank lakesters are quite good. I do wish for better captions,and the author is trying to cover too much territory in one volume. Recommended with reservations.

This hot rod book is awesome. It was purchased as a gift and is proudly displayed.

Well written and comprehensive history on the early days of our hot rodding hobby.
