Toddy Maker Replacement Glass Decanter with Lid, White

I cold brew coffee in a french press then transfer the coffee to this decanter for storage. Cleaning: This thing is really easy for me to clean. I can fit a hand inside. I'm a man with large hands. Done. If you have very large hands and they don't fit, any dish wand can hit every interior surface from outside. Cap: This decanter comes with a cap and it is perfectly, perfectly made. It fits and is airtight but is easy to remove. When installing the cap you are treated to a nice hiss of air escaping until the cap is seated. Size: It's quite big, about a half gallon capacity. Height wise, it has no trouble fitting in the fridge. Design: The decanter is a very pretty thing, especially full of cold coffee! The spout works well for nice pours. Thickness: I saw other reviewers discussing the thickness of the glass. This is my first one so I can't compare this one to other ones. Mine is as thick as a carafe in a french press, or maybe a little thicker. Seems fine to me.

This came quickly and was wrapped to perfection so no worries on this product breaking in the mail. If Toddy coffee is not your summer go-to, it should be. It is about the easiest thing you can make and tastes delicious! It will also save you mad money if you're prone to buy iced/cold brew coffee (seriously, MAD MONEY saver).

I was given a Toddy coffee system for Christmas a few years ago. I love it, especially since ordinary coffee sometimes gives me heartburn. Shortly thereafter, I was given an ancient Toddy system owned by my grandmother. I don't know when she bought it, but it *looked* dated. The new toddy coffee system had a modern-looking carafe with surprisingly thin glass; not much thicker than lightbulb glass. The old one (which I actually gave away in order to spread the Toddy theology) was *heavy* and solid feeling, but looked, once again, a bit dated (think 1970's plastics). Sadly, after about two years of use, I knocked the modern carafe in the sink as I washed it and broke it to pieces. So, I ordered this carafe to replace it. After reading one of the reviews here, I was prepared to get a duplicate of the shockingly thin-glassed carafe I started with. But no! This Toddy carafe is THICK! The glass still is quite light, but it has a nice solid heft to it, and a much deeper "tunk" sound when I tap it (instead of the "tink" I used to get). I don't know when it was that Toddy decided to sell the thin-glass version, or when or why they increased the thickness, but frankly, this new carafe is *exactly* what I would want in a carafe. It feels solid, like tapping it in the sink (or setting it down firmly) couldn't possibly shatter it. It's the same size. It's modern looking, just as the picture shows. It's stamped with the TODDY logo on the front (unlike the old one; perhaps stamping would have shattered that thin glass). Heck, despite the description, it comes with a lid. I'd actually encourage anyone with a thin-glassed carafe to quick order a new one before the old one shatters, because it is much better (and safer!). If that one-star review here makes you worried; I know exactly what he's talking about, and it seems that they aren't selling that one anymore.

the only difference is the lid secures much better and the word " Toddy " is on the side of the decanter. Everything ( glass including ) is identical. I buy these to take the place of the plastic decanters that come with the Toddy alternative. These are of much better quality and most of all easy to clean ! But you might say, this is too much to pay for a decanter. Check the pricing on the replacements for the other manufacturer. They are some cheaper but not enough so that I would buy one opposed to the Toddy decanter.

We have been using the Toddy cold brew system for 8 or 9 years. This is the second replacement decanter we have bought, after prior versions were dropped one too many times on a hard floor. Cold brew is our favorite way to make coffee and Toddy is simple to use and consistent. This decanter is just what it says it is, fits perfectly with the brewing container and lid we already have, was delivered promptly, and holds our cold brew quite well.

Arrived well-packed, all in one piece, and is identical to the one I broke simply by stirring cold (not hot) dripped coffee in it with a steel spoon! Even though it was much more affordable through Amazon, it was more expensive than I felt it should have been, and I gave it four stars simply because it is much too fragile, and the glass too thin. It works, though, and the coffee concentrate is wonderful!

I have used a Tody cold brew system for years, love it! The replacement carafe...it allows me to use my system again.
