At Bare Republic, we take the appropriate caution to ensure we do not use nanoparticles in any form that can be inhaled or ingested, (i.e. sprays, lip, baby products, etc.). That said, we do choose to formulate our Mineral Face SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotions with nanoparticles, as it allows our customers to achieve a transparent and smooth application. As noted by the EWG, nanoparticles when applied as a lotion do not penetrate the skin. If you are looking for a non-nano face sunscreen, we recommend our Gel-Lotion SPF 30 or Face Lotion SPF 70.

How dark is the tint? Will it be fine for someone who has fair/light skin?

I think it's best some someone with fair/light skin. I use it because it's a clean product and I like the matte finish. I am a tan brown complexion however and it leaves a white cast on me. I use a tan setting powder to offset the white cast. Hope this helps. I believe on a fair complexion the white cast will not show. It would be great if they can do a darker tint for tan skin to help customers like myself.

Does this also work as a moisturizer, or should i apply moisturizer beforehand?

It can absolutely be used as a moisturizer. If your skin is on the dryer side, you might want to apply a moisturizer before the sunscreen.

is this the old formula which is more of a liquid?? the new one seems to thick...

This formula is not a liquid. It is easily applied and has an amazing finish and feel to it. I would definitely not describe it as too think. Great product.
