Having started to go gray at 23 I dyed for quite a while. But there came a point in my 30's where I just looked around at the other 30-somethings and all the work and expense and decided to just stop. Here I am almost 15 years later and while I'm still fighting that 65/35 brunette to gray line I kind of love it. Depending on how I wear my hair I can look very gray or like I've mostly got a gorgeous silver money piece. The problem is keeping it looking silvery and not like some weird beigey-yellow mess.I was no-poo for a decade and while I loved it, once the gray took over it just didn't help me keep the yellowing under control. I've tried both green and blue shampoos because I'm still so deep brown but it just didn't have the effect on the white and grays I need. A couple of cheaper purple shampoos and conditioners have worked well but I didn't care for the smell or harsher chemicals. I decided to splurge on this one because I had asked to try it at the salon and had experienced good results with the sample.To my delight, my students actually asked me if I'd dyed my hair after I'd used the shampoo and conditioner the previous night. Middle schoolers aren't usually big on compliments but I think it was meant that way. LOL Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I like to let it sit for a minute and let the conditioner sit for 5 for good results. I only wash every 2-3 days and air dry.

I love this stuff and I always have since Horst sold it in Minneapolis. You could buy it by the gallon back then. Not any more since a mega company bought the rights to make it. It's about $80 for a 34 oz bottle. But still has the same similar ingredients, and your hair feels great after each use still...

Me gusta que el color morado no es tan intenso es algo claro. He usado otros que dejan el cabello color lila y se ven raros. Este shampoo usandolo 3 veces a la semana si resalta el tono blanco de las canas sin teñirlas de morado. El aroma me encanta, se siente como muy natural, no me reseca el cabello y lo uso de 2 a 3 veces a la semana. Rinde mucho porque se ocupa poco para una melena mediana.

This is a great shampoo for grey hair , also if you have coarse hair as it seems to soften it , also doesn’t take so much time to get hair wet once you start using it , good in a hard water area .
