Living in a 100-year-old house means we deal with occasional clogs, especially since my whole family has long, thick hair that loves to team up in the drains. I've tried various drain cleaners over the years, but Green Gobbler Drain Opening PACs really delivered when I needed it most.I started with a slow-draining sink and dumped a small amount in there, then used the rest of the pack (about 90% of it) on our tub, which was barely draining at all. I only waited about 5 minutes at first, and honestly, it seemed like the tub clog got worse temporarily – the water backed up more. But after reading the directions properly (always a good idea!), I learned to let it sit for a full 30 minutes before flushing with hot water.When I came back and tried running hot water, nothing happened at first. I grabbed a plunger and gave it a solid 2 minutes of effort – suddenly, a big bubble popped up, there was a loud gurgle, and the water started draining fast like magic. Whatever massive hair-and-gunk combo was down there finally broke loose, and now both the tub and sink drain beautifully – faster than they have in months!This product tackled a really stubborn clog that had been building up, and it did the job without harsh fumes or damaging anything (important in an older home). v-v-v-v-v-v 2020-10-23 v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v FInally had my bathroom sink start backing up. It wasnt a full clog, just if i ran the water longer than 5 seconds it started backing up into the sink. I used this stuff, and i could SMELL it working. Then after one night, the sink flowed 100% fine. I now use this stuff as maintenance on the kitchen sink and the guest bathroom sink. v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v Original Post v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v I have a 1960's home with a 1960's toilet that is very fickle. It used to clog easily, and I was getting to my wits end. Then I started using green gobbler, and the toilet started flowing well again. I was filled with hope. But after about 3-4 weeks, things started getting clogged easily again. The green gobbler alone wasnt enough. Now after a couple months of use, I know that without question, I need to do a combination of a green gobbler maintenance soak, and combine that with a good plunger strategy seems to be my best strategy. The green gobbler does a good job of loosening things up with the plunging as the final cleanse. Definitely well worth the buy for me, but ymmv. Update 2019/12/16 So I still find that I have to use this for our old toilet every 1-2 months. Without it, we get clogs more often. It takes a couple days for the effects to work well. But after those couple of days, we get less clogs, and plunging is much easier if there ARE any clogs. Update 2019/07/15 Due to some exchanges with customer service, they showed me they cared very much. In which case that tips this review from 4 to a solid 5 stars, because you always have a better experience dealing with a nicer professional company.

I purchased the Green Gobbler Drain Clog Remover & Drain Cleaner Powder (5 Pacs & 5 Tools). All I can say is that this has saved my life several times when the bath drain was completely clogged with hair. It works within 30 minutes. I love the separate bags for one-time use - very convenient and powerful. However, the smell is also powerful and extremely awful - rotten eggs. The smell doesn't go away for a long time, even with an air purifier in the bathroom. But for me it's worth it because I live alone and it works every time and is so convenient and reasonably priced - much cheaper than a plumber!

The powder works better than the liquid. Consistently works every time in every sink & toilet. Love the plastic snakes. They get the hair & gunk out of the drain perfectly, prior to pouring in the powder. Great value!

We have older plumbing so we are very careful about the products we use. This product was great for our sinks and shower and we haven't seen any issues even a few months after use

Before using this product, I'd strongly recommend testing it during the daytime instead of pouring it down your drain right before bed, even though the instructions suggest using it at night so it can sit longer. Everyone's plumbing and sewer system is different. After reading the reviews, I noticed some people said there was no odor, while others mentioned a smell. In my experience, the odor was absolutely horrific. It smelled like strong sulfur (rotten eggs), and it quickly spread throughout my entire house. Even after closing the bathroom door, placing a fan in the bathroom, and opening the bathroom window, the smell still traveled through my home. It's not a mild odor-it's very strong and overwhelming. The product did help with my clog, so I can't complain about its effectiveness. However, because of the smell, I highly recommend trying it during the day first. That way, if your plumbing reacts the way mine did, you can open your windows, air out your home, and avoid dealing with that odor while you're trying to sleep.

Cleaned out the bathroom sink drain, and everything that was causing it came out with the remover and the powder. Worth the buy and worth the working sink drain. This is the first time I have had to do this in the 10 years I've lived in the unit. Will be using it again in 6 months!!

This was as effective as and easier to use than the large bottles of Green Gobbler gel which leaked and made a terrible mess. (Actually had 2 bottles of Green Gobbler leak, including one which was still sealed and received no refund for either bottle)

I've used Green Gobbler for a few years now and haven't gone back to any other drain cleaner since. Between this powder and the stick form (which is for upkeep and odour control rather than drain clearing), I've been issue-free since I started using these. I am really sensitive to scents, but these do not trigger any of the reactions that perfume can cause. When you first pour the powder into the drain, you'll probably get a funky smell, almost like bad eggs, but that's just the enzymes working on all the bio matter gunk. It will go away when you rinse the drain. It's best to rinse with hot water. I usually boil the kettle, give the water a minute to cool, then use that to rinse. It leaves behind pipes that look and act brand new! Amazing stuff. I've used it with my sinks, tub, toilet, and the drain for the washing machine. A friend of mine even used it with a seriously gross dishwasher left by a tenant, and she said it's now like brand new. No, I'm not being paid by Green Gobbler! This is just great stuff! I will add, for things like the toilet and the washing machine drain, I've found it's best to let the powder sit for 24 hours if at all possible, or at least over night. Safe for metal and PVC.

Used this to clear two bathroom sinks, which were partially blocked. Wanted something that was compatible with a septic tank. One packet for each sink cleared the blockage in under 10 mins and left the sinks free draining and clean. Have now ordered additional supply for future use !

So I watched a YouTube link to see how good it is..... well this product is 110% great you poor the sashay down the blocked sink and leave it for a few hours.. depending on how blocked your system is. Drainage system is now 110% clear. Great product....
