Works great so far
Two weeks since adding this to our system, we are already seeing an improvement. The odor we were experiencing is gone, and the system is flowing much better. Hoping this keeps our system going for a long time.

Good product
This product arrived in good condition, the container was not leaking, and it functioned as advertised. Helped cut down on the smell and seemed to help the drain field function a little better for a while, though I probably need to do another treatment or two. If you are looking for a chemical clean out solution, this one is pretty good for the money.

Great product -- The only thing that worked for a 3-month toilet paper clog
I left a similar review for the Roebic Septic System Concentrate, but the Leach and Drain Field Opener is the best we have used so far. Without going into too much detail, we used Scott toilet tissue for years and rarely had problems. Then last year, I decided to try Charmin. Even though the package says "Septic Safe", it wasn't. We started having issues within weeks. We tried all sorts of products -- sever un-concentrated Roebic products like Septic Tank, Septic System Cleaner, SGP, Main Line Cleaner; Drano; Liquid Plumr; Bleach; Vinegar and Baking Soda; Bio Wish; etc. Nothing worked until we found the Roebic Leach and Drain Field Opener. We went back to Scott and had no problems for a couple of months ... till I decided to try Angel Soft. So I'm back here ordering this item. We usually found that after 2 treatments of this product, our drain cleared up in a few days. The Leach and Drain Field Opener may cost a little more than the other Roebic products, but ounce for ounce it is still a better deal because it treats 1500 gallons instead of 500 gallons. AMAZON SHOPPERS TAKE NOTE We ordered this product from Amazon on 1/10/2014 and 1/13/201 and were shipped the wrong item both times due to mis-labeling of their packages. They have been shipping the K-57 Septic System Cleaner, which sells for $6.50 and is far less effective. The mistake is understandable because both bottles have green labels and the numbers are similar -- K-57 vs. K-570. But if you ordered this and it didn't work for you, it is possible that you received the wrong one. The K-57 is not a concentrated product, only treats 500 gallons, and according to the manufacturer, can take several weeks before seeing results. So check your bottle before pouring it down, because the K-570 is $23-$24 and you will have paid 4 times the value for a cheaper, less effective product.

This really works!
WOW ... this stuff Works!! We had the septic tanks pumped out and we have had really high grass near the tank lids. The septic guys said you need a new drain field and we can give you an estimate $$$. I could never see any water on the outside in the grass until recently. The water in the tanks was up to the very very top (not good). I poured this directly into the outgoing line to the field using a small hose to get the product in there. Fast forward a few days, the water level in the tanks dropped to exactly where it should be!!

Not working....
So far it hasn't worked. When I do two medium washing loads. The water comes up where the septic is. Have used 4-5 times every other week. Crossing my fingers it will work. We were advised we needed a new leach line. And it would cost $ 8,500. ๐

Seems to work on old septic system!
This seems to work, it will be hard to be certain until another year or so passes, but we have endured a TON of rain recently, and that normally results in a septic smell until the ground has a chance to absorb the extra moisture. Haven't smelled that, so I think it's working. More in a year if things change.

Saved our drainfield
11/11/25 update: almost a year and a half later since our issues started and i'm elated to share that everything is still working correctly! I still add one packet of Green Pig and a half bottle of this stuff every month. It may be unnecessary at this point, but I will probably do it as long as I own this home for peace of mind. I'm so grateful for these products!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Our drainfield was so dead we burned through a septic pump twice- it just never shut off trying to push water out there. We were constantly having backups into our basement. We had the lines cleared of tree roots thinking that would help but it didn't. The second time our pump died was our wake up call that our system was broken, and the guy told us "if this doesn't work you need a new drainfield." We were looking at a $30k mound system. I read a lot about this and Green Pig products and we decided we had nothing to lose. We stopped putting water down our system for about a week. Showered at the gym, used the toilet at the gas station, put buckets in the sink to wash hands and dishes and dumped it out side. While we did that, every day I dumped a bottle of this stuff and a packet of Green Pig down our lateral lines and prayed. I also dumped some in the tanks and down the toilet (once each). We slowly started using water again, taking short showers, turning the water off while soaping up, and using the toilet but only flushing brown. I kept adding these products, but increased the time between treatments to every other day, and then every few days. We tested the system with a load of laundry. I sat outside by our pump and hear it turn on. And then it turned back off! It worked! We slowly ramped our water usage back up to normal, and I kept going out to listen to the pump and it was working normally as it should. It's been over 6 months and everything is working great. I now treat our system on a monthly basis with half a bottle this stuff and one packet of Green Pig. A plumber I spoke to said it's all just bacteria, and you can't add too much, so I will probably continue to do so indefinitely. I don't ever want to be back in that situation of worrying about our system. That was a nightmare I'm so glad is over.

Good product, pay attention to how to
It worked. My leaching bed (>30 years) started to have lavish green grass over a couple of years and to be very wet this spring, I got this product and used in April. The leaching bed got a bit drier, but one end was still wet everyday, especially after heavy water usage. Its instruction says that water usage should be restrained after it is applied. So before a long family vacation in July, I poured another bottle into drain and used water lightly next day. The leaching bed has been dry since August. I think the product must break down some organic deposit there as advertised. Good product.

Not perfect but works well!
my septic has no history of being pumped and its like 60 years old! my leach field is always wet and drains very slow. this stuff actually works pretty well. It does not solve the problem but it makes a noticeable improvement!
