Purchased this for coffee grounds and other compost items. The stainless steel looks nice in my kitchen and when it's full I take it out to my plants. Just throw the bucket into the dishwasher. Like the filter in the top.....never smell what's inside.

I use this for my food scrap compost bin. It is a skosh larger than a 1.3, and it makes a huge difference just that little bit bigger. You do not have to worry about emptying it as often, and has plenty of room to circulate air inside the bin. If your food waste is moist/dry enough, it does not stink. I haven't had an odor issue I couldn't eliminate yet. For more than 2 people, or 2 people that have a lot of food waste, this is the one you need. I have been adding to this once a day for 1 month and still have at least 1/3 space inside the bin to fill. (I'll put it in the yard composter bin before I'll fill it.) I have mine outside out on my deck. On a plant stand, so it looks kind of neat. Not a nose wrinkle when you look at it. It's only out there because I don't have a good place for it indoors. Family that composts gift item=YES! Person that needs a vessel to put garden waste in, and not empty all the time=PERFECT! Also, I did NOT have any difficulty in placing the black screen stickers over the vent holes. Reviews mentioned this as a potential problem. This whole unit was easy to place all filters and stickers on and in. Two thumbs up!

Had the bin a month, and so far it’s great. Feels sturdy/well made. Nice capacity. Easy to clean. I got a small round wire rack to put the bin on to keep it elevated above the sink counter so water won’t pool around the base of the bin.

This is the perfect product! Fits nicely on the counter, is sturdy- and has a handle so I can easily bring it to my larger composting bin when full.

We keep this on our kitchen counter and the filters that are included completely stop any odors. Great little can; holds a lot of kitchen scraps.

Good size but like other reviewers mentioned some areas are rusting after four months of use. Not sure if it's real stainless steal due to the rust elements. Replacement filter is impossible to find so for that reason alone I would not purchase again. You need a 8.25" filter and everything is 7.25 or smaller so what's the point.

We've composted for a long time, using various bowls to store the scraps in. Almost all smelled and worse, became moldy and gross. This Compost Bin is a great size. Nice and large enough to last for a week before needing to be emptied. It's really easy to clean, no longer smells and we no longer have the mold issue. I only wished I had purchased it years ago!
