Nice little travel set
I purchased this as much as anything, out of nostalgia. I took a class at RISD when I was in college and the professor specified that we get Winsor Newton or Rowney paints. After trying a number of off brand watercolors this year, I got a small set from each of those brands, yearning for pigmenmt (as opposed to dye). I did not get the kind of breakup I expect from pigment in this set, but the colors are intense and there is a nice range. My five star rating is for how excellently designed this is as a travel set. There is even a ring on the back to make it easy to hold one handed. It has a small palette for mixing and a tiny but very good quality brush. It is as nice a travel set as I have seen, and very well priced too.

Delightful Little Set. Good Paint. Quality
This paint set is perfect. The colors are vibrant, and I can do so much with them. I love the layout of the half pans. Using them at home or when outside works great because the whole set (palette, brush, and paints) doesn't take up much space.

I think it has improved from earlier travel Aquafine tins
I bought this product years ago but I returned it because I wasn't satisfied with the tin. This time, I love it. The cover opens flat, and the inside looks white (the previous one looked gray), better for color mixing. It is hard to open because the tin is so thin but the ring at the bottom makes it easier to pull the bottom from the top. The ring does make the bottom uneven but I know that can be rectified with some feet (cabinet bumpers) on the bottom corners. Suggestion to Daler Rowney: please add feet to your Aquafine tins! Aquafine cakes aren't bad, they are easy to rewet and vibrant. That's why I got the smaller set for travel sketches. Thank you, Amazon, for shipping this item in a box instead of a bubble mailer! It arrived in good condition. Update: I bought more when it went on sale. Unfortunately, the mixing side is gray again. I lowered my rating to 4 stars for the inconsistency.

Watercolors Daley-
Great watercolors. They have great color. They mix very well thin or dark, easy to use. Good quality. Good value for the money.

I am very pleased with this watercolor set
I am very pleased with this watercolor set. It has 24 beautiful colors, that are labelled, and the metal box is thin, small and flat, so it is very easy to slip into a small bag with a sketchbook. I have several other portable watercolor boxes, but my other Daler Rowney box is large and heavy, with no label on the colors. My much-used and otherwise fantastic Windsor Newton box has a small water bottle and brush, but only 12 colors. So this new watercolor box is perfect for traveling and gives you a wide variety of colors to choose from, in a very small packet. Perfect!, ..

Nice color saturation
I use both pro and student grade paints depending on what I’m doing or the effects Imwant. I bought this because I enjoy watching Charles Evans videos and he recommends. I was very pleasantly surprised with these. Good color selection and saturation. Someone said the light red was just like the burnt sienna, and although close, they are different. Different pigments mix differently, have different transparency, spread, or staining, so it’s useful to have choices. Very nice set.

little set with good variety of colors, but poor lightfastness, bad mixing area
The set itself comes in a little tin which is why i wanted it at first. I like the number of colors and the water colors themselves work pretty well on good paper and are very vibrant. They do end up chalky on poorer paper. However, the worst parts are the little plastic mixing places, the lid, and the light fastness. I haven't personally tested the lightfastness, but someone else did with multiple brands and the Daler-Rowney was the worst. They faded terribly. You can remove the little plastic mixing spots, but i can stand to use them, the watercolors just pool(?) like water droplets, and the pots are so deep,,, its just annoying, i use the lid more often than not (although little improvement with the pooling). the tin is very thin and flimsy. my lid is so dented. overall, if you want a cheap convenient set with some very vibrant colors and variety, this is pretty good. I can guarantee you can find something better though for the same price point or only a little more.

Good Beginner's Set
A good travel palette for student & hobbyists in the basic colors that mix well. The quality of the tiny brush far surpassed my expectations. Some of the colors take extra time and strokes to attain full vibrancy. There's a handy thumb ring, the palette is light-weight, and easily slips into a small purse or a tiny plein-air case. This palette is a great value and would make the perfect gift for a young or new artist.

Great for beginners!
This is a perfect travel size set of 12 good quality student grade watercolours. The tin box is compact, slim, sturdy and it comes with a nice short handle brush. Would recommend this as a basic beginners set or a nice set for sketching outdoors.
