Great for it's intended purpose.
This target is meant for low power CO2, pump pistols, Crosman 1701P, etc. that make just a couple foot pounds of energy. Yes, I'm sure a .22LR or even a 1000fps pellet gun would shoot straight thru it. I use a 1701P and it hasn't damaged it a bit. Makes a great addition to my shooting wall. The included targets make clear holes with regular Crosman hollow points, like as if you're using a hole punch. I like shoot-n-c for outside, but man, this paper is great for score keeping. Most of the pellets drop into the catch, some land behind the target, on the bottom plate. Wish they all went in the catch area, but at least none escape. With the 100 included targets, it's a great deal for $15 not to have to pick pellets off the floor and have the wife find out I'm shooting pellets in the house, LOL.

Very Good, but Doesn't Last Forever
This is a very good target if you have some experience. It's not big so if you are a beginner you will miss the target a lot. But if you have more experience you will hit it more often and will know you hit the target because of the metal noise it makes when you hit the target. Metal BBs are very strong and will cause some areas to bent and the paint to come off. One area that bents is the place where you insert the paper, so after some time you will have a harder time putting the paper targets in. But the most frustrating part is the metal pad that bents and doesn't allow the pellets to fall down on the rectangular shape collector. But you can open this pad with a tool and the BBs will fall there again. I gave 5 stars because its a great target and if you are a BB lover you should expect to buy more than one of these targets.

Not for .22 PCP air rifle
Super easy to assemble lots of targets for the money, but not up to .22 lead coming out of a PCP rifle I even have mine tunned down considerably lower than the factory settings. I was shooting at about 30 yards, as that is all the room I have. The attached images are after only shooting 10 rounds at the target. I was re-zeroing scope after re-installing, or the damage probably would have been much worse to the holder / down reflection piece. I had some 2 inch hi density foam that I cut to fit in it, which slows down lead enough to make it usable for me. I checked again after that 20 rounds with the foam and the back mostly the same, but the metal piece that reflects the lead down to was bent worse and cracked at the bottom. Ill have to find something to reinforce it with.

Very good but suffers when used with higher power air rifles.
This is a steel pellet trap which should perform well for low powered pellet guns. Mine isn't, although it is 0.177 Cal. I tried the supersonic PBA alloy pellets which do not deform like the lead pellets. They survived the impact without shattering or massive deforming and were pretty hard on the trap putting significant dents in the side walls and the deflector at 50'. After that, I shot all lead pellets at 700 - 1000 fps and further dented the deflector and eventually holed it. After the deflector was holed and pushed upward and backward, one of the lead pellets missed the deflector altogether and penetrated the back wall, although not completely. I tried putting duct seal in the square window in the back collector section which worked well, but only for about 10 - 20 shots before it had to be reshaped and the spent pellets removed. Currently, the trap is somewhat beat up, but using the duct seal and placing 1/4" hardwood behind the deflector, it is still serviceable (fortunately, I ran out of the PBA pellets). The 100 targets supplied give nice sharp holes with wadcutters and are easy to change. If you are into DIY, you should probably Google "Worlds best pellet trap". A cardboard box, $6 worth of Rubber Mulch and some clear packing tape can be a very effective pellet trap (the towel is probably optional, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy notwithstanding), but you should back it with something even though my 1030 fps 7.9 gr. pellets will not penetrate 6" of the rubber mulch.) Check out the All-Weather Target Backer for a little extra insurance. This also might work well behind the deflector plate of the Gamo Cone Pellet Trap instead of the hardwood I used above.

Great product!
I works great! It collects the pellets, nothing goes through. Strong, sturdy.

Worth all of five starts, excellent pellet trap!
It is small in size, but plenty big enough and constructed of heavy metal and so easy to put together. As stated in other reviews, there is an abundance of targets and changing them is simplicity itself. I do most of my target shooting indoors and at shorter distances it really doesn't need much of a backstop. If one can't keep all his shots within the target, he should be outside. The finish is really great and the parts go together easily and securely. I heartily recommend the Gamo Cone Pellet Trap, it is as good as they come.

Not for .22 cal airguns or high velocity .177 cal
I purchased this for use with my Benjamin 392 .22 airgun. Although the 392 shoots at 685 fps, it has about the same muzzle energy as a .177 at 1000 fps, but a .22 retains energy better down range. With the first shot, the ramp to direct the pellets down into the well had a large dent and been bent upwards slightly. After firing between 12 to 20 shots, the ramp has been bent almost completely horizontal, and there is several dents on the back of the well, including a very large one in the center. The cone itself works perfectly, directing the pellets into the well and has sustained no damage other than paint chipping. The poor design lies completely in the gauge of the well, it should have been made of substantially thicker metal. I believe even a .177 with about the same muzzle energy as the 392 would have these same problems. As the design is currently, this pellet trap is only suited for lower velocity airguns, such as the cheaper Daisy or Crosman multi-pump guns. I feel that it will completely fail after a few hundred shots.

Had one of these for twenty years , still usable although now quite dented it does what it is intended to do , catch pellets in a safe way . Good product .

Shot 50 .22 cal into it from 5 feet away. It caught all the pellets. Not a single one came out. The rear deflector plate started to bent upwards, Had to push it back down to protect behind it. Before i realized the deflector plate was pushed up, one of the pellet already hit the back part and dented it (no big deal though. The metal is strong enough to handle the shot. The photo shows the deflector plate after i bent it back down. Overall, great product does the job well.

very well made and easy to put together

works as advertised however it's too small to allow me see my target, unless you have a good scope, this would probably be useless. compared to my interactive targets that flips and spins, this one is boring.
