This is a great little heater. My camper came with one installed when I purchased it 8 years ago. No telling when that one was bought. Mine stopped working, so I got a new one. It came with clear directions; easy to remove the old one and hook up this one to the already existing PEX piping, Watched several YouTube videos about this little heater before in stalling it myself. (female 73 yrs,) If one doesn't have the PEX piping, there are videos for that also. Mine lived a nice long productive life considering I have well water and did not know to flush it out once a year. It gives me instant hot steaming water at the sink, hot enough to make tea and instant coffee. I love it. I had the option to clean or replace the corroded heating rods, but considering the low price I simply replaced the entire heater.

I bought this 2 years ago for a bathroom in a detached garage we were building. This works great for this bathroom, easy to mount up on the wall or under the vanity if needed. Started up fine, easy to adjust the temperature, and has worked with no issues for 2+ years now.

I rated 5 stars even though I just received and installed it, because I had a Bosch 3000T for several years and am quite familiar with these things. I also have a BSEE (Electrical Engineering) and have a pretty good idea what I'm doing.I note that most of the comments have either very high ratings (it's the greatest thing since sliced bread), or very low (it failed after 2 years). Well, every water heater ever made WILL eventually leak and fail. That's just the way it is. Very "soft" water is especially corrosive. (As I live in Western Washington and our water largely comes from the mountains, we really have this problem.) To keep your unit alive as long as possible, do not skimp on the yearly maintenance.Yearly maintenance is NOT just flushing the tank. If you read the included manual carefully, you will note that, just as on the Bosch unit, they recommend that you yearly check the magnesium anode rod. To do that you must drain the tank, open it up, and take out the heating unit! The anode rod is screwed into the heating unit assembly. The purpose of that rod is that it gets eaten by corrosion more easily than your tank, and thus protects the tank. So when you do this and you're looking at that rod and thinking "OMG that looks ugly", replace it. You can get a 2-pack at Amazon for less than $20.All that said, for many people a unit like this is well worth the effort. In my case, the pipeline distance between the main water heater in my basement and the kitchen (on the main floor) is long enough that, even though the pipeline has insulation around it, the water in the pipe cools significantly while the kitchen faucet is off.And, as in so many things, "your mileage may vary".

I previously returned 2 Bosch water heaters to Amazon. Thanks to their great refund policy I was able to secure a refund on those 2 defective units. THEN, I purchased this unit from Amazon, not realizing it was not a different product, just a rebadged Bosch with a different faceplate and with the same defects.Evidently Bosch has turned out a number of defective products. There seems to be a problem with the internal baffles, as it heats up water just fine, but only outputs cold water (the same water input to it) It is correctly installed by myself, a former aircraft mechanic. I give up and will just continue to live with needing 90 seconds or more to receive hot water from my distant main water heater. Bosch should be ashamed of themselves for not recalling this junk.

I've been using these mini water heaters for about 15 years now, and I love them. In my last house the bathrooms were literally 80 feet away from the water heater, and you would wait 2 minutes or more & waste a lot of water waiting for it to arrive at the showers. And if you just wanted to wash your face, it was always a cold-water proposition. So I installed one of these mini heaters just under the baths, in-line with the hot water coming from the water heater. Problem solved.I just bought one of these Ariston units for my new house. The bathrooms are only about 30 feet from the water heater, but this time I'm trying it in combination with a tankless water heater. I still don't want to waste any water flushing out the lines waiting for the hot stuff to arrive, and with this heater just below the bathrooms, I have instant hot water all the time. It's enough to last a few minutes in the shower - more than enough time for that tankless water to arrive. The few dollars it costs to run this unit is paid for many times over by the savings from the tankless unit, and I still save a lot of water - not to mention the convenience of having instant hot water always at the ready.

After lots of research, decided on 'Amazon's Choice'. So far so good. Installation was fairly easy. Supplies instant-on hot water for the kitchen sink (which previously took well over a minute due to the hot water tank being diagonally on the opposite side of the house). This is wonderful however-- BEWARE OF THIS -- Although this tank holds 4 gallons, after less than a minute of continued use, i.e., probably less than a gallon being dispensed, the water is no longer hot but rather warm-to-luke warm. This is due I suspect to the fact that cold water is entering the tank and mixing with the hot water as the water in the tank is being dispensed. Probably the same issue with the Bosch and other models I considered. Not a big deal since probably 90% of the time we use the kitchen sink for rinsing dishes, washing hands, etc.

Before it would take me 1.5mins to get hot water to my kitchen sink. I replaced the lines running into my kitchen from steel galvanized lines (due to the rust in the lines getting in my drinking water) to PEX B (the crimp kind of pex, not the expanding Pex A).In the process I decided it would be a good ideal to perhaps look into this type of setup instead of waiting the 1.5mins to get my hot water at the kitchen sink. I researched the amount of water my dishwasher would need and which unit would be sufficient for my application. I then removed BOTH steel lines into my kitchen and ran 1 cold water line. I then put a Tee in the cold water line in which 1 runs to my cold water faucet connection and the other runs into this unit. Then I plumbed my hot water off the heater to the fixtures via a 1/4 turn valve to pex B end.THIS IS BY FAR the best upgrade I have ever made to my home in a LONG time. Why didn't I do this sooner?! The 4 gallon version I got works wonderful for the dishwasher and it only needs 110v/120v of AC power. Since I ran the Tee on the cold water coming in, I should have ran 3/4" Pex B, but I can do that in the future (if needed).Notes of installation:1. The outlets on the heater cold and hot side are 1/2" so to run the service valves I had to buy a brass adaptor to convert to 3/4" (brass adapter I purchased, but would be better to use PVC between the different metals https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0823NKRX3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share2. BUY THESE SERVICE VALVES: HYDRO MASTER Tankless Water Heater Service Valve Kit with Pressure Relief Valve 3/4-Inch IPS Isolator Clean Brass https://a.co/d/6iY91JtI've saw TONS OF PEOPLE complaining they have to remove the tank to drain it, buy these valves and you won't have to do that! C'mon people!3. DO NOT plug this unit into the same plug-in under your sink as your dishwasher. The load is too much to run both and is a fire hazard!! I ran a dedicated 20amp circuit from my main panel to a GFCI plugin (required by code and good idea since it lives under the sink and water can make contact to it)! Do NOT skip this step! 12-2 Romex is rated for 20amp and assuming you are not running at 100' AND this is the only draw to the circuit, then you should be good to go.4. Remember to flush the heater 1-2 times a year using the above mentioned service ports. YouTube has plenty of videos on what you need.5. I hope this helps you to settle the debate on which one to buy, this or the Bosch one (that I passed on due to mixed reviews)6.
