Great suction
A plus for the showers when you need an extra grab handle and a spot that you used to not have great for seniors or someone that is stability compromised.

Secure and reliable
It's secure if you follow the installment instructions. Throughly clean the designated attachment area. I wiped the area down with alcohol to ensure that there was no cleaning chemical left. As noted on the grab bar, it is not intended for a person's full weight. It is intended for aiding with stability when getting into or being in the shower/tub and it works well for that purpose. As with any product of this type, you should routinely check the suction grip. I remove it when I clean the shower, then attach it again.I purchased a few grab bars that were a security risk because they didn't attach firmly on the fiberglass wall. This one is secure, reliable. My husband has alzheimer and stability problems. He weighs nearly 250, 5'9" tall and this grab bar works well for him. I actually have 3 bars in the shower. One to support him when he has to step over the side of the tub, another one near the faucet because he has to lean over to turn the water on, and one on the side wall to use while he takes his shower. I also have a tub mat to keep him from slipping. As with anyone with alzheimer, I suggest frequently reminding them to not put all their weight on the suction bars. If they have to put all their weight on the bars it would be best to use bars that firmly screw into the walls. Just an opinion, but I wouldn't use any suction type of grab bar for kids. They could potentially pull out on it and suffer serious injury.I recommend this grab bar for anyone who just needs secure assistance with stability. My tub is a molded fiberglass unit and this bar can securely suction to it. Be advised, many bars are not recommended for fiberglass surfaces.

Worked great for a couple months, then slowly worse until now it falls off sponaneously
First few months it worked great. Then it fell off overnight. Cleaned the wall and the suction cups with alcohol, dried carefully no lint or dust, stuck it back on. Lasted another couple months. One cup let go, reattached it, was ok for a while. Repeat but slightly and more more often, sometimes just one, sometimes both would let go. After about a full year, maybe a bit more, only one suction cup would hold. The other let go within minutes if not immediately.Long story short, it's good for about a year, but you can't depend on it for more than slight balance help. Any pulling on it might cause it to fail at any time, even with it attached perfectly. The locking mechanism seems to work fine, it's the suction cup itself that fails.

I doesn't stay in place for a long time.
I use it for lifting a hatch. And for this purpose it is working great. But it is impossible to use as a handrail - it will fell off in less than half hour.

That I can remove it and take it with me to a friend or family house going on a trip or vacation you can take it with you and not have to worry about getting up from the toilet or put it in the shower. Ken

It is a life saver!
I am handicapped and need the extra support of the shower grip handle when getting in and out of the shower. For me it is a life saver. I have a handicapped bar in the shower, but these handles, you can place where ever you need to reach them. They go on so easy and they hold tight. I would highly recommend this product. I even purchased one for a friend and she is pleased also.

Very secure
I read several reviews of this handle not sticking well. Falling off after a certain period of time. I've had ZERO issues. I have no idea what these people are doing. My tub is a solid sheet of hard plastic. An apartment shower. I don't have tile. I made sure to clean the surface of my shower wall really well and dry it completely. The suction cups on the handle are really sticky so that was a plus. I pressed firmly and attached the handle to the wall. clamped it down and the markers flipped red to green. We did test it and put some weight on it and it didn't budge. This handle is NOT to pull yourself up with. You wouldn't be on the tub floor if you need assistance. You need to have a shower chair if you need to sit. Don't install this over the grout part of tiles. This is common sense. Clean the area very good and dry it where you want to adhere the suction cups. Thats all thats needed. This handle has provided us with a bit more security getting out of our little apartment shower as the tub wall is stupid high and I'm always afraid I'm gonna slip. Pair this with a good tub mat and you are solid!

Not OT approved
I'm an Occupational Therapist and thought I'd take a chance on these despite knowing the risks with suction cup grab bars (but sometimes you just cant adapt a bathroom otherwise). Got these intended to be used on glass in a shower (suction should be great right??). Prepped the surface and secured the tabs. Green indicators showed good suction. I trialed a sit-stand transfer using probably 20 lbs of force maximum and one of the suction cups popped off. Repeated several times on different surfaces and same result. I definitely would not be recommending these and returned to go back to the drawing board.

Works As Intended
This is the 2nd time I bought this product having liked it so much the first time. Now I have for each bath / shower in my 2 Bathrooms. It works as intended, holds in place. Not intended to lift you up from a sitting position but it's perfect if you slip or don't want to slip by holding on to it. You can move to a different location in the shower or bath tile area as needed. Very pleased wit this purchase and much cheaper than having a permanent safety bar added since you need to hire someone with a special drill bit to install so it won't crack or break you tile.

It is firm and good support
What you have to do is to wet it first and then attach it very firmly to the shower wall. I had tried a few times and finally it's working. It has been firmly on the wall for a month and it is still very strong for support.

does not work!
bought this for my wife, as she will be having knee surgery and a little bit of help into the shower would go a long way. This product does not stick to the wall as advertised, and if you manage to stick it there, it falls off within 5 minutes!!!!!!!!!! I do not recommend!!!!
