Check sharpness and balance before installing.
Changed out factory blades with these mulching blades and could not be more satisfied. These blades stopped my issue with leaving rows of grass on my lawn. They produce smaller trimmings and discharge pretty evenly. Blades are heavier than stock but have noticed no stress or performance issues with them. Check the sharpness and balance before installing. These were a little more dull than my liking and a tad off balance out of the box. I have always sharpened new blades anyway no matter the brand. For the price compared to OEM I would buy again and recommend to friends.

clean cut
Perfect fit for a Cub Cadet XT1 46" deck. Man what a difference these made. Yes the cutting width is about 1" smaller than the original blades but that did not make a difference in the cutting path. Not sure about the reviews that state these don't cut a complete path or are out of balance. User error I figure. Yes, sharpen before you install. Has an edge coated in paint. Just take a fraction of that off the reveal a sharp edge. I use a bagger when cutting, approximately an acre, and with the dull blades it was constantly clogging up the shut. Not with these. The mulching blades really turn the blades of grass into tiny pieces. Well worth the money and will get a minimum of 3 sharpening"s out of them. These are not a thin metal blade.

Incredible value
I keep a set of these and a set of high lift blades for my Troy bilt horse riding mower. I use these particular blades at different times throughout the year. They are thick, good and heavy, easy to install, and appear to be very sturdy. They are painted black in appearance.

Good but....
Overall I like the blades. I was replacing some high lift blades that are good too. The only complaint I have is it seems to leave a strip of unmowed grass so I'm having to overlap.

Just Bought My Second Set
UPDATE: Just bought my second set. I had purchased a set of the yellow blades, but I was not pleased with their performance, so I'm going back to these as they performed well on my cub Cadet and gave great results! I was concerned after reading other reviews as Whether I would have to sharpen these when I received them. After installation I mowed my front lawn and was pleasantly surprised by the mulching capabilities and no streaks in the lawn. The blades do what they are intended to do. I live in the south and it’s November which means the leaves are coming down. I arrived home last evening, got my blower out and cleaned off the driveway and around my two trees. After that it was mulching time with my Cub Cadet XT1. It was dry and that meant a lot of dust when mulching, but once again these blades proved their worth! As I mowed over all those leaves, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the mulching blades worked and left very few to go back over. My lawn looked like it had been completely raked! I’ll have to mow again as the rest of the leaves fall, but very grateful that these blades do their job and I end up with that raked yard look!

Made in the USA?
These are definitely not your average blades. These are definitely commercial grade heavy duty blades! I purchased them because it was listed as made in the USA! I am a little disappointed because one of the blades was already blistering the paint off from rust on the blade. That’s not going to affect how the blade cuts the grass but when I buy something new I expect it to be in perfect condition. Still well worth the money.

Strong blades
Received these a couple days ago and replaced my old blades. The fit was perfect, and easy to put on. These blades are much thicker and more durable than my old ones. Completed the first mow of the year and my yard looks like a park! No trimmings to clean up. We'll see how they continue after a few months when grass starts to grow back thicker and more consistent. I do have some experience with this brand with a different set of blades for a different mower, but if these are up to the same quality, then I have nothing to worry about.

Weak and bend easily
One blade bent at gator cutout section on first use, it bent enough to raise and cut through deck leaving a two inch gash with 1/4 blade poking through. Not impressed.

This blade will mulch well but will not lift the grass for an even cut.
These blades do not lift the grass for an even cut, even with the mower deck set to mulch. The grass that is compacted by the lawnmower wheels does not get lifted. The blades seem to create a turbulence that pushes the thickest grass down instead of lifting it up. They do mulch but leave a middle swath of grass that is not completely cut. I cleaned the deck of my mower, but it did not help. I also leveled the deck to create more lift on the grass. It improved the cut slightly, but is not sastisfactory. I am mowing at half the speed as normal, and it still gives a poor quality cut. These blades work worse than my worn-out factory set that are rounded off on the ends. This new set of blades will have to be replaced.
