These pens are the least expensive and well built for the price. I’d recommend them to anyone.
These pens are easy to hold and the ink seems to dry quickly. I’ve also just bought refills for older pens, saving money. The black ink is a deep, sharp color against a white paper, easy to read. The same can be said for the blue ink. The weight of the pen in my hand is fine. It’s just me that lets it go on too long and my hand gets tired because of my minor arthritis. This time, I got the 0.5 mm pen instead of the 0.7 mm. I’m glad I did. I just did a quick comparison of the two and I like the 0.5 better. The point is finer and I’d think even less likely to smear. Both sizes are great for notes or journal writing. Maybe the 0.5 won’t use the ink as quickly though. The only problem I have with any ink pen is my young dog chews them up and makes them unusable if I don’t put them away after each use. She loves plastic and leather items to chew on. This is why I look for inexpensive replacements. These pens are both inexpensive to replace and well built for the price. I’d recommend them to anyone.

FAVORITE PENS EVER!! Super easy to grip and hold, write very smoothly, only downside is that after so many refillings w the cartridge sometimes the pen nib part where you untwist to open it comes undone by itself so it needs manual adjusting. Ink comes out in a constant flow, but beware you can see it through the paper as if it’s a shadow! Wish it was a little thinner :(

Beautiful inks, quick drying, and smooth writing
I love the Pentel pens - they are my favorites of the bazillion pens I own (pen lovers get that). I love their ink colors, the smoothness of the writing, and the feel of the pen. I write with other pens, too, but I enjoy these the most by far. (A helpful tip: the little plastic/wax ball used to seal the point of the pen sometimes leave a tiny piece stuck to the point after you pull it off. If you don't get a smooth flow or it feels rough, run a thumbnail across the tip from a few different angles to clear it - then enjoy!)

My go-to pen!
I absolutely love these pens. The ink flows so smoothly and dries quickly, so I don’t have to worry about smearing. The fine 0.5mm needle tip is perfect for small, precise writing, especially in planners or tight spaces. The black ink is bold and consistent, and the pen itself has a clean, professional look. I also really like the textured grip and the weight. It’s lightweight but still feels sturdy, not cheap or breakable. They work well for everything from everyday notes to more detailed writing, which makes them really versatile. They feel great to write with and are consistently reliable. This is my go-to pen and the one I always reach for!

Just about the ideal pen, especially on cheaper paper like notebooks and legal pads
I don't know what Pentel did with this pen, but it's by far the best everyday-use ink I've ever seen in a pen this cheap. This is the pen that will dry faster than all the others, lay darker lines than all the others, and never, ever bleed on even the roughest paper. I take a lot of notes at work and at home, usually on cheap legal pads from Costco, and this has the best price-performance ratio of any pen I've used. I bought these alongside the uni-ball Vision Rollerball Pens, Micro Point (0.5mm), Black, 4 Count and the Pilot Precise V5 RT Retractable Rolling Ball Pens, Extra Fine Point, 3-Pack, Black Ink (26052) , all in black 0.5mm. I tested them all together and even asked friends and family to test which they liked more - everyone confidently decided that these were the best despite being the cheapest of the three. They write smooth, don't bleed, and dry fast. Not only that, but the lines are confidently darker than the uni-ball Vision and on par with the Precise V5 ink, but without the frequent bleeding, pooling, and slow drying that you sometimes get from liquid inks - Pilot is a particularly egregious offender here if you don't spring for expensive stationery. While the other pens will certainly perform well, especially on nicer paper... they're decidedly more expensive. I got these as an add-on item for $5, which works out to about $1.67 per pen. In addition, you can usually get refills for these pens at around $1 each if you buy in bulk. I felt a little strange for liking these so much, especially since I usually can't stand gel pens, but I reluctantly realized that these simply wrote better than every other pen I had. I can't say much about the build quality or how well the ink will protect you from something like check or signature fraud, though, so consider your options more carefully if that's what you're worried about. In a nutshell, here's my take: Pros: - Never bleeds, even on cheap paper - Dries stupid fast - Surprisingly solid, deep black ink - Flows just as well as comparable liquid ink roller-balls - Dirt cheap considering the quality Cons: - Build quality is questionable - the clip will snap off if you're too rough with it - The grip, while I have no complaints, is a bit thicker than some people with small hands may like Just go for it. If you take a lot of quick notes, are left handed, or have issues with your ink smearing because it doesn't dry fast enough, this will be the best $5 you spend all month.

Great pens with some small things that could make it amazing
I love these pens.. they are definitely in my top 2 favorite pens, I love the .5mm tips and they write so smoothly. I just wish they weren't so bulky and had more comfortable grip. They aren't good to hold and write with for long periods.

No negative aspects, positively perfect.
A 0.5mm needle point tip makes for a superior writing instrument: very dark black ink that dries nearly instantly, fluid ink flow which enables smooth writing, even on 20lb printer paper; it also writes on thermal printer paper without skipping, blotching or smearing. The ink is fraud proof, therefore, suitable for document signing. An unexpected attribute of the pen is, if accidentally left in your shirt pocket, placed in the washing machine, and it undergoes an entire cycle of washing, rinsing and spinning, in my case, the pen did not leak ink, nor did it suffer any perceivable damage. I simply disassembled the pen, removed any trapped water, and it performed as perfectly as before the mishap. Outstanding pen in my arsenal. It may be used for drawing purposes equally well.

Great pens
I love these pairs. They’re long lasting and they write beautifully.

Great pen but poor packaging from Morgan's Direct
Great pen, prefect weight in the hand. Glides smoothly even on cheap printer paper and doesn't smudge for a gel pen. However, the 3 pack came loose in a cardboard box and not in the product packaging as shown here. It's not Pentel's fault but Morgan's Direct the seller... The pens did arrive with their protective ball on the nibs though.
