12V 15 Amp Upgrade for Peg Perego John Deere Tractor Ride-on-Toys | Gator and Gauncho | Replace 12-Volt 12 Ah for Kids Tractor

Replaced dead battery in my kids ride on. Been abused for over a year now and still holds a charge.

Bought this to replace a junk battery in my son's Peg Perego Gator XUV and was hoping it would give it a little more ooomph, as he is getting older. I had already replaced his battery once and was disappointed with the last one, since it never seemed to have much power and the charge faded quickly. This battery is great! It runs strong - both my son and I agree that the Gator seems to have more power, speed, and stamina than it did even when new. No problem with hills or passengers now!

Replaced the original battery came with the John Deer tractor. We got 1 year, almost to the day, with the original battery. It died rather quickly. Supposedly this one is “new and improved”. We’ll see. Initial performance is great. The little guys loves the extra power and boost! But again, will it last for a few year??? I hope so. Can’t comment on longevity. So I’ll update in the future.

First time I used this item it performed well. The second time I used it, after charging it over night with the peg perego charger it ran for 5 minutes and required yet another charge. Also one of the two connector pins came out of the battery connection hardness. At this point I requested a return of the item. The seller emailed me that the problem could be one or two things. I'm not happy with this product at this point and definitely not in the mood to fix this thing after paying seventy dollars for it. To make matters even worst it cost me $20 to send back to the seller his DEFECTIVE MECHANDISE. Don't make the same mistake I made when trying to upgrade your kid's Peg Perego Battery. One star is too generous in this instance. My Son has had the original Peg Perego battery for 3 years and we've never experienced any issues.

Updated: I purchased the 12V 15Ah replacement for the Per-Perego John Deere Gator. It arrived today in what appeared good packaging, but the casing around the battery was broken. I figured it may be just cosmetic so I plugged it in and the battery is not working at all. I plugged it in and my charger lit green. I checked the fuse (fine) and later noticed one of the connections was bent. When the cover broke it bent a connection. After re-bending I was able to get a solid connection and it works well.

I didn’t like the battery that came with my sons John Deere tractor. It didn’t last very long and I always was charging it. If I forgot, well you know how disappointing a three year old goes. So I decided to research better batteries and settled on this one. It’s absolutely incredible. Last at least 3-4x the OEM Peg Perego battery. It’s significantly bigger but fits perfectly in the slot in the tractor and is able to fit inside the OEM bracket to be screwed down. There actually is space for both the OEM battery and this one (although the small OEM battery will not be able to be secured with the bracket if you leave them both in the battery area). But you can close the “hood” of the tractor easily. I like charging one and leaving one in. Then I always have a backup. But this one doesn’t run out often. Very happy with it.
