Yea for Buster Brown like having an old friend return again.!
These all cotton socks are just what the Dr. ordered for Spring. Soft, no scratchy seems and the heel on toe are knitted the correct alignment. I am so happy to have a soft sock again with no abrasions on my toes. Thanks for having these in stock and getting them to me on time.

These are 100% cotton, so deliberately made larger to allow for shrinkage in hot water/hot dryer!
I've been buying these for years, and I've noticed that they no longer sell them in a specific size. I used to buy size 9, although I wear an 8.5 shoe. Two reasons for that are that first, I don't like tight shoes and have a C width at the ball of the foot, so by going up to 8.5 in slip on shoes such as Easy Spirit, the width will be comfortable. When it comes to the BB socks, however, it depends on whether I will be washing them in hot water or not. In our household, BTW, we generally wash clothes (including socks) in tap cold water, then dry on "permanent press" setting, which isn't all that hot. One must remember that many people who have foot/leg problems (I'm not one of them) want to allow for swelling. People in assisted living facilities often have someone else doing the laundry and the laundry is usually more interested in getting things clean than worrying about shrinkage, so they use hot water and fairly high heat settings on the dryer as well. These are cotton, and yes, they will shrink under those conditions. If you do your own laundry, you have a choice of whether you want a loose fit, or want to size down, or just try shrinking them the first time before wearing, and hope for a good fit. I have noticed that these socks, if imported from Turkey, tend to be larger than the same brand from certain other sources. Best advice is I can give for those new to this brand is to buy a set of three, and experiment with one pair at a time to see what works best for your situation. Good news is that they are soft and there are no pesky, rough seams to irritate sensitive skin. If you also buy Doc Ortho socks, which are designed for extra cushioning and have a loose weave, you may find as I did that putting BB socks on first and then pulling the looser socks over them will keep your feel a bit warmer without having to switch to merino wool or something along those lines. If you find that your winter socks are a bit scratchy, again, the BB socks will protect the most sensitive parts of your feet. (I do have sensitive skin, but I've had that problem since childhood. I saw Elvis Presley on the Ed Sullivan show, which was his first live performance on national TV, so we're really, really talking long, long ago.)

Good, for what they are.
These seem to be the only true 100% cotton socks on the market. And for what they are, they're great! But you cannot expect from these the same that you expect from synthetic socks. For example... Shape: These don't hold their shape all day, though they seem to do better with that if you wear them with shoes. So maybe they just don't make great house socks. If you do buy them and they become ridiculously misshapen after a day's wear, try running them through the dryer after the next time you wash them. Thickness: These are super thin socks which is great for summer and people whose feet run hot; not great for chilly winters. You may do better in the wool socks department if you need winter socks, but it's even harder to find 100% wool socks than 100% cotton. So, if you need non-synthetic winter socks, layering these may work. But to get the desired thickness, you'd likely need 2-3 pairs on your feet at once. Those are my 2 biggest complaints, but as you can see, there are ways to work around them if you want or need to. Ultimately, these are a wonderful option for non-synthetic socks; something there isn't a whole lot of since the discovery of spandex. All of the little quirks of fully cotton socks are worth it for the health benefits. You just have to learn how to manage them.

100% cotton socks
I purchased these for my 80 year old mom who likes to sleep in them. They are 100% cotton - the tops are loose - no elastic - will not cut off circulation or cut into your skin - and they sort of slip down a little - but that's the trade off for no elastic/cut into your leg part. She doesn't fold them and wears them pulled up straight. She wears a size 9 shoe - we ended up purchasing both the medium and the large with the thought they could shrink. The larges are a tad longer in the foot .. and they didn't really shrink much, if any. However, Mom can wear both sizes fairly comfortably so, we are going with that. If I reorder them, I'll probably go with the medium. They are bright white and because they are 100% cotton you could bleach them if you're really into that. I've been washing Mom's with a little oxi thrown in to keep them white. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.

Perfect for People with Latex Allergies
I love these socks. I love the soft, pretty colors. I love how comfortable they are. I'm not really fond of how they look after I've been wearing them for a few hours - but that can't be helped! That's the nature of 100% cotton socks. Cotton doesn't stretch! Or rather, it might stretch out, but it doesn't return to the original size until washed. That's why OTHER companies put spandex (latex) in their sock cuffs - so they don't look all stretched out after wearing them. But those of us with latex allergies can't wear that stuff. So, if you want a sock that you're not allergic to, get used to socks that look a bit stretched out. You could try to buy a smaller size, but then they will be hard to get on, because COTTON DOESN'T STRETCH. I have knit my own socks, because it is so hard to find a good pair I can wear with my latex allergy. I knitted socks from wool, acrylic and cotton. The wool itches, too. The acrylic was uncomfortable. The cotton I made to fit exactly, so they are hard to put on because they don't stretch! Knitting socks is too time-consuming. I'll be buy my baggy socks from Buster Brown from now on!

Imposter, NOT 100% cotton
Updated review: I ordered the socks from Collections Etc. I had described those as a better alternative. I was disappointed to find that they are the not 100% cotton and are the large one-size-fits-all. I am still looking for 100% cotton that will shrink. These remain very long and are a little skimpy at the ankle. Original review: These socks are a disappointment, they are not 100% cotton and the proportion is "off". The socks have spandex, which makes them slippery inside my shoe. I accidentally ordered these a second time, thinking they were the right ones from my orders list. Amazon has them incorrectly identified as being from Collections Etc but they are not, they are sold by Wearever. Read on to see my review from another seller: Collections Etc. Collections Etc socks were 100% cotton no elastics no spandex, just 100% cotton, exactly what I wanted and true to size! I just ordered 4 packages, a total of 12 pair! Be sure to look for a listing that says Collections Etc in the lower part of the listing and has 3-pack choices of all white, all black, variety of tan, white and black, and another combination that comes with a pink pair. That's the correct seller.

I used to love these socks
These were my very favorite socks of all time. But they no longer fit me. I still have a couple of pairs I bought some years ago and they're loose and floppy and wonderfully comfortable. But these days the sock is way too tight across the arch. I have tried both Large and X-Large, and the same problem with both sizes. I do not have high arches so can only conclude that this is a design problem. I wish they would go back to designing the socks the way they were made when this company was Buster Brown. These days it is part of Scholls. What a disappointment.. But good service. Free, no hassle returns.

100% cotton socks
They are 100% cotton socks for women which are almost impossible to find these days. However, they are advertised as 6 pack, but there are only 3 pairs in the bag!
