I see a comment which states the actual bar is bent at a greater degree than the one in the picture! Is this the case?

The bar is bent at a good angle for the exercise. I've had no issues. Whether or not it matches the picture is completely subjective.

What are the clips called that attach this to the machine? Does this comes with those?

It does not come with clips of any kind. I used a pre-made large-dog cable which already had a clip. Then I put a clip-type carabiner on the end that attaches to the weight stack. My setup is homemade, with pulleys hanging from the basement ceiling:)
