They keep going!
These are great laces! Ive had my main 63" pair out last 3 pairs of work shoes and im still wearing them to work on their 4th pair of shoes. They are solid with no signs of damage and stay tied all day with old wax after years of use. They have a rough texture when new but smooth out eventually. I like waxing them stiff to keep them tied all day no questions. Ive held a lighter to them before and they hold up but it will probably make them brittle over time. Some problems 1.)Laces lose color and turn white 2.)If a plastic aglet pulls off they fray horribly from the end 3.)If a lace gets cought in something you better hope it isnt fast moving or anything with a lot of torque. 1500lbs doesnt brake easy. 4.)I dont like other laces anymore I got another 63" pair in today (9-24-26) and the aglets were coming off while waxing them. A dab of superglue would work but im buying metal aglets for these!

Holds up to heavy sparks from grinders!
Most durable laces that can still be tied well enough that I have ever seen! Lasted over two years of heavy sparks and even occasional molten metal from use as a steel pipe fitter/fabricator. Normal cheap laces last a month or two, "durable" laces and the original laces that come with the name brand timberland boots last 3-5 months, these lasted over two years and more than paid in the difference in cost. Still they failed in the same way, dry rot and failure in the underside which never got cleaned but zero damage from sparks so they far outlasted everything. To give an idea of the abuse, my $190 timberland boots only last 12-16 months and my full leather apron to block the sparks at my stomach only lasts a year so these things can clearly take abuse. Worth the money for me most definitely. The main con is the cost, really unless your dealing with sparks or mud these arent worth your money in my opinion, but some people really need laces that can handle sparks and weld slpatter and these work for that surprizingly well. The only real con beyond the cost is the stiffness, they are more difficult to tie but I learned an effective way to tie it with little risk of untieing and easy untieing later. Single underloop to start basically the way most teach to tie shoes, then single bunny ear and pull the otherside all the way through (dont make two ears at the same time, just one), then bunny ear the other side as a double tie and get it very tight. The first bunny ear tightens to the shoe and the second ear tightens to the first ear. This way never has come untied unless the string was left too long and got stepped on, actually these get tighter than conventional laces only doing this way specifically but releasing isnt an issue since pulling the correct string will pull out one loop then pull the other and its untied. The laces do require a very tight tie to not come untied, but doing the separate single bunny ears as described allows for a very tight tie without the shoe itself being too tight. Dunno why but tieing the bunny ears together for a double tie does not stay tied since they are too stiff, and only doing the bunny ears for a single tie as normally taught for tennis shoes doesnt stay either. And this style isnt as effective with normal laces as with these laces either, im on my feet for 10-12 hours a day in these climbing over stuff and climbing inside of pipe and never came untied unless the release string was pulled. Yet my thin laces on my tennis shoes never stayed tied with this tieing style. If you need laces that can handle sparks and can figure out a tie for them since they are thicker these are very highly recommended!

Laces that last in all conditions
Hands down best laces I’ve ever had!! I work construction and I wear Irish setters and for some reason they eat up laces I’ve tried so many kevlar and other "indestructible” laces and none of them lasted. I first got a set of these for a laborer I work with that is hell on boots between the torching and concrete his boots only last 6 months and in that time he will go through 2-3 pair of laces as of now he still has the same set of iron lashes I got for him and his on pair of boots #5!! I recommend these laces to all the guys at work and a lot have bought them and all had good results. One guy told me he liked that once you cinch them up they stay tight where other boot laces would listen over the course of the day just by movement. I can’t say enough good stuff about these laces. Get a pair they are reasonably priced and they will out perform and out last anything else on the market!

These are great laces, but not perfect.
As far as their claim to be indestructible, I will agree with that. I actually tried to cut one of these and it is not easy to do. I tried tin snips and scissors and both took multiple attempts to get through all strands of the lace. They are strong. There are downsides though. The plastic coating to keep the ends from fraying falls off easily and when the ends fray it's very difficult cutting off the excess due to the indestructibility. Not a huge deal because I already had a package of metal lace ends that can be clamped on. This solves that problem. Next problem is they come untied easily if only tying them once. If you double tie them and give a good yank these things will not only stay tied, but will be hard to untie at that point. The last problem is that they are far from being black. They're essentially grey and a light grey at that. I really wished these were a true black. Would I recommend these? Absolutely. They work and they are strong. They also are easy to pull loose from the eyelets in a pair of due to their strength and rigidity. Overall I like these laces a lot. My biggest complaint is they're not black.

The name says it all.
They could not have named these more appropriately. Ironlace is what it says it is. I have waited quite awhile to write this review. I purchased these in November of 2014. It is currently February 2017. I have these laces on a pair of Vasque Bitterroot Hikers. (I simply adore those boots, but this review isn't about them.) I have put these laces through their paces hiking (both long distance and day hiking), backpacking, camping, fishing, shooting, traveling, and less exciting daily wear (yardwork, running errands, and shopping). I wear these boots with these laces at least 4 times a week and often times more than that. I have had them in the mud, rain, sand, and snow in both the back country and in more urban settings. I have yet to break them. Only now... after more than 2 years of almost daily use... are they starting to fray ever so slightly where they rub against the metal eyelets on the Vasques. To put that in context, the laces that came with my boots only lasted me around 60 days. Not only have they more than outperformed my expectations, I can also truthfully say that I have never once had these come loose or untie on me. Some may laugh that off and wonder why I mentioned it, but once you've stepped on your own loose lace on a rocky downhill slope and taken a spill with a 50lb pack on your back you'll appreciate laces that bind tight and don't come loose no matter what. Stop reading the reviews and buy these already. ***UPDATE*** 09/29/2018 Well after 4 years of hard use and significant abuse, it finally happened. I broke an Ironlace. I have put these laces through a hefty amount of torture and they performed admirably for several years and an uncountable number of miles in my boots. While I was initially disappointed and mildly depressed, it dawned on me that Ironlace has a LIFETIME WARRANTY! I located my original Amazon invoice and rapidly sent it off to the Ironlace warranty claim email address along with a picture of the broken lace. Mind you this was at 1:30 pm on a Saturday. Within TWENTY FIVE MINUTES of me sending that email I received a response from "Mike" with Ironlace. He had received my email and was sending a new pair of laces out the door for me immediately. On top of that, the tag on Mike's email response showed that he had sent his return email from his phone, which leads me to think that he had taken time out of his weekend to read and respond to my warranty claim. That, in my opinion, is simply fantastic customer service. 5 days later on Thursday the replacement laces arrived. No questions, no hassle, no push back. It's this type of customer service that creates lifelong repeat customers. A fantastic company with a fantastic product. Both the laces and the employees perform above and beyond expectation.

Strong, but color fades instantly!
First time they got wet they lost their color. Other than that they seem to be indestructible.

A good quality product that definitely will last long
A solid, good quality lace with more than enough length. Laces are thin and stiff; the rough exterior actually prevents lace knot from untying. The color is versatile and goes with different shades of brown and tan shoes. I do recommend this product.

Let's see how long they will last
I usually need to swap my laces once in every week or two, so I ordered the ironlace unbreakable garanteed for life. I put them on today so I'll update my review eventually. As I work with concrete and have metal eyelets on my boots, I don't expect a long lifespan for it. They do feel stiff but no problem lacing it. I bought the 84" set as they recommend for a 10 eyelet pair, but 72" and even 63" would have done it. Let's see if they hold until next month at least.. *Edit- it's been a month, still holding on. Yes they fade, but so does my boots in concrete. Very good laces!*

Very good laces
The product was received promptly and sealed in original packaging. I can't comment on their durability yet as I haven't had them long enough but I will update (particularly if they don't last as long as I hope). However, they look and feel to be very high quality. As noted by others, the laces are relatively thin. In fairness, that info is provided in the item description (they are 1/8" or 3mm across). I've uploaded images showing the IronLace next to the ones being replaced so you can see the size difference though I should note that the old ones have swollen a bit with use over time. The size of the laces, as well as the solid aglets (tight and strong), made lacing the boots very easy. The laces themselves are stiff with a slight texture to them. I don't mind the stiffness and had no issues using them as-is out of the box. To this point I haven't had any issue with them loosening or becoming untied. I got the black version and, as the images show, they are more of a very dark grey, close to black but not a true black. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase at this point.
