has anyone tried this battery for the inspiron 17 5748? It takes a type scmrd 40wh 14.8v

The only difference is my battery says xcmrd instead of scmrd. Everything else is the same. It might work as my computer is a Dell also.

Does the battery charge indicator read properly with this battery? Last battery I bought, from other did not and also did not appear to be charging.

Hi. We bought this to replace the factory battery that came with my Dell laptop. My laptop was not even registering that there was a battery installed. This battery is perfect. It does everything it's supposed to and yes, for me, it shows that it's charging and or charged. As soon as i put it in, it began showing that it was charging.
