GoldBug Toddler Safety Harness & Leash - Monkey

The twins don't even realize they are on a tether...they think they are carrying their buddy and stuffy...the monkey on their back, but this monkey isn't a troubling pest...he's their buddy and mom, dad and grandma can walk an airport with less stress knowing their precious little ones are enjoying their freedom while still safely within our reach. Great product. We like the chest band that is comfortable but helps to stabilize the pull of the tether and helps to keep the shoulder straps in place. The monkey is well made .....like a soft, cuddly stuffed animal. The wrist band is comfortable for the adult.

Pre-parenting I was a “why do they have their kids on a leash? That seems wrong”. Now I completely understand, and I’m hooked on using a leash. The leash gives a toddler freedom to walk around and explore on their own, while providing safety. And this backpack, I love! The monkey is cute, and the leash has worked great so far. The only potential weak link is that the leash connects to the backpack with a plastic clip. I could see with a really strong, older child running quickly to the end of the lead and maybe it would snap. But for the age it’s designed for it seems good so far to me! And my daughter wears it with no issue and she likes to carry it around at home.

We LOVE this thing! I feel so much peace of mind knowing my little one is always safe near by! Not to mention it’s so cute! I constantly have other moms asking me where I got this! We’ve had it almost a year now and it’s still holding up great! The length is also perfect! Not to mention it’s extremely lightweight!

My toddler is very high energy & extremely determined to run away from me. This lease is awesome, and she loves the monkey. She was so happy to walk next to me without having to constantly hold my hand. After a few weeks, she's done a better job of standing next to me when we are going out (disclaimer when I say better job of standing near me, I mean standing for 39 seconds next to me at a store vs 2 seconds). It's not a rough harness and seems comfortable. If you have a high energy toddler who hates holding your hand, then get this. Ignore any obnoxious person who looks at you in a weird way when they realize there's a leash attached to the stuffed animal. Her wearing this gives me peace of mind that she'll be close when I'm outside the house with her & my other baby. Just do it.

The stuffed monkey is kind of huge. It is cute and very soft, and the harness can be adjusted to be very secure. The leash is quite short. My main problem with it is that my (14 month old) son can't sit on any stroller or chair with a back while wearing it because the monkey is so bulky. That makes it less useful because he isn't excited about wearing it and taking it on and off reminds him it's there. Not to mention the non convenience of having to take it on and off in and of itself. Limitation to this review: Because of the aforementioned problem and my son's drunken sailor beginning walker gait, I have never actually used it for its intended purpose, so I'm not sure how good the placement of the clip attaching the leash is. I was afraid of tipping him over and really causing him to hate it. He's a month older and steadier than when I got it so it might be worth a shot. 09/22/20 Update I have now taken my almost 16-month-old on walks around the block three times and am rather impressed. The harness is in a good spot for not yanking him off his feet when he runs out of leash charging for the street. And the huge stuffed monkey is great for when he throws a fit that he can't go forward anymore. (He only did that once, but still.) Between the monkey and the leash, I managed to prevent him from hitting his head on the concrete! And he doesn't mind wearing it! Phew. I further note that when he is contained in the backyard fence before I take his monkey off, I can squish the leash into the pocket of the monkey so he doesn't trip over it. But I don't use the leash that came with the monkey because it is too short. I got a leash with a toddler backpack I got earlier which is about a foot longer and use that.

Never thought I would use one of these on my son, until I had a wild toddler! I liked this because it looks so much like a cutesy backpack and not your average leash lo; I do wish it functioned as a backpack as well to put stuff in. However, my son had no problem wearing it and mom could rest assured he was safe when we went to the airport and national parks when on our trip to Montana. He doesn't like to hold my hand for long so this allowed him the supposed "freedom" to go where he wanted with enough leeway.

As a father of 3 children I was definitely one of those parents who refused to put his kid on a leash, until our youngest started to walk. Since our youngest is also on the spectrum we have struggled to go on walks as a family. He loves walking alone and for his safety we hold by his hand because he just wants to run down the sidewalk and into the street. So we figured “let’s try a backpack with a leash” and our first walk was amazing! He loved walking independently and I loved having the piece of mind that he was safe. We walked further than we ever have so he got to explore more of his surroundings. My sons average in growing percentiles, and it fits petty snug. Will need to buy another side in a couple months. So just make sure you check sizes for your kiddo. Has a cool Kitts back, but just for looks because can fit anything. Overall happy with he purpose it’s suppose to serve.

These are so cute! I have a 16 month old, and because of that I have to keep him in tabs. This is lightweight, strong, and soft. The stuffed animal serves as a tiny backpack. It secures your toddler around their chest and the straps are adjustable. The leash itself isn't very stretchy. However, it allows your child to go a safe distance away from you where you can still get to them. My only suggestion to the company, and a strap or straps to go between the child's legs so that if they fall you can gently help lift them up. Making them removable.

I lift 2 years old with this harness to test the quality. Seems strong enough.

Esta mochila es muy útil para mi hijo de 14 meses, la calidad es buena y yo en lo partícula la uso para controlar sus primeros pasos, el diseño es muy lindo y le ajusta perfecto a mi hijo, y también se que mas adelante la seguirá usando porque el muñeco le gusto mucho.

Lo compre de regalo para mi sobrino, ya que empieza a caminar y no le gusta que lo vayan agarrando. Con el changuito el niño se siente libre y la mamá se siente segura de que tiene a su hijo cerca. Lo recomiendo muchisimo para los que tienen hijos que estan en edad de que quieren ser libres.

Estoy decepcionada pues han bajado la calidad en sus acabados y materiales, hace 3 años le compre un cerdito a mi hija de la misma marca y aún lo usa y nada que ver con este. En general cumple su función pero ya no lo recomendaría.
