POWERTEC 12-1/2 Inch Planer Blades for DeWalt DW734 Planer, Replacement for DW7342 Planer Knives, Set of 3 (12801)

I've been using these planer blades for a few years now. I was first drawn to them because if price. I tend to plane things that are not the best to run through your planer sometimes and I didn't want to spend a lot on blades I was going to ultimately ruin. After trying these out, I was really impressed with how nice they cut. When doing nicer projects, I can put on a fresh set of these and they always do a great job. Instalation isn't the funnest thing to do because of the screws that hold them in like to strip the heads out if you're not careful. Sometimes even if you are. But once on, you'll get smooth accurate cuts with these. And when you don't, flip them around and they are new again. I hope they continue selling these because I'll keep getting them as long as they do for sure.

These are an aftermarket replacement for the DeWalt 734 planer blades and they are less expensive than the original equipment. First of all, never touch the edges of these blades; they are devilishly sharp and will do significant tissue damage without much encouragement. I replaced some well used original equipment blades with these blades and was very pleased with the revitalized planer performance. I planed some old rough-cut cherry with the new set of blades first and it was a joy. The wood surface came out "as smooth as silk". (It was some old, highly colored cherry.) I have just recently installed these blades so I am, so far, unable to comment on their durability of longevity. They installed perfectly in my machine. I recommend using a little lubricant on the retaining screws when they are re-installed. My screws were very tight and hopefully the introduction of a little oil will simplify the process next time. I plan on getting one or two more sets of these blades to keep on hand as this set wears down. So far, my comments are decidedly favorable.

Easy to use. Very sharp Blades

They fit well, very sharp ( requisite blood sacrifice to the planer gods given, wear gloves). I had to hunt down the installation instructions, would have been nice to have been included, but a minor omission. So far they cut well. I didn't realize how dull the old ones were until I compared them to new ones, no nicks and appeared to be OK, but obviously dull in comparison. Replaced drive belt at the same as it was worn in places and hard. The combination should make a big improvement. Need to recheck all setting measurements as well, nothing is forever. Can't tell the difference in quality between the OEM and these blades and they are half the price.

These work great in my Dewalt planer and I thought they were a good value for the price.

Excellent product. Fit perfectly

These are actually really good blades for the price. I usually buy the Dewalt replacement blades but purchased these as I needed them right away. They have lasted a lot longer then the Dewalt blades do. I have run 300-400 bdft of mixed hard and soft wood on the first side and have had zero issues. I will definitely buy these again
