940nm Infrared LED Strip, 2m 12V SMD3528 Flexible Tape

If you are looking for additional lighting for night vision secrity cameras, then this is a good choice. It is easy to hook up, provides good IR lighting and is invisible to teh naked eye. This was exactly what I was loooking for and it is a good value at the price posted.

i would never buy this product again. it didn’t come with everything, and i can’t even turn the lights on.

These are pretty cool, they don't seem like much when they come wrapped in a nice tight little circle. And they don't put out much light if you just look at them. But they work great to illuminate an area for a night vision camera.

All IR illuminators are not created equally. There are two basic types based on the color or frequency of the light emitted. The most common are 850 NM wavelength. That is a shorter wavelength and closer to the normal visible light range. Most people can see that light if they look directly at the illuminator, but you cannot see the reflected light, which can be quite intense. Most digital cameras are very sensitive to reds and easily see that light. For anyone familiar and regularly using security cameras they are familiar with scenes where it appears pitch black outside to the naked unaided eye but on the security camera looking at the same scene it looks like a summer noon. The vast majority of security cameras using IR illuminators use the shorter 850 NM wavelength. Additionally, they may not be very sensitive to the longer wavelength 940 NM light. The above explained, this illuminator strip emits the longer wavelength 940 NM light. You cannot see this at all with the unaided eye. If observed with your cell phone camera, especially if it has a night vision mode, you can likely see the LEDs glowing when powered on. But such cameras are not very sensitive to this wavelength. If you looked at a similar strip emitting 850 NM light it would be glaring bright, washing out your image. The result, unless you are using a camera which is specifically sensitive to the 940 NM wavelength this is not the illuminator for you. If you run this strip around a room and use an incompatible camera you will likely see some boost in brightness with standard IR capable cameras. But it may not at all be what you may be expecting. The powered strip will be invisible to the naked eye, however. The 940 NM light is used for more professional, often covert military and law enforcement applications where you do not want your illuminator to be visible at all to the naked eye, even in very dark situations. It is not even visible on most cameras people are likely to be carrying unless looked at directly. It is also used industrially and scientifically. This strip is perfect for those applications. The above understood, this is an excellent and reasonably priced product. It uses a 12V supply, which means you do not need any special converters to operate it. They include one set of attached pigtails for power. But the strip can be cut into numerous sections and used separately. You will need to attach leads for each of those. Observe polarity. The strip will not illuminate if the polarity is reversed. They also include one barrel connector to pigtail adapter, which can make powering from a wall cube convenient. This product rates five solid stars.

I purchased this IR strip to supplement an IR project I'm working on. The unit works well for its purpose, providing a good amount of invisible illumination. My sensor, picked up the light effectively. I found the strip to be very flexible, making installation easy. The adhesive on the back is strong and held securely to the surface I mounted it on. The strip is also cuttable, which was helpful for getting the right length. Overall, this is a solid product that does exactly what it's supposed to do.

Low intensity.

These are bright IR LEDs. You're not going to be able to see the light from them with your eyes, so it's hard to know if they're on or not. I'm using them as extra lighting for some IR nightvision security cameras, and they work well. No faint red glow like you get with cheaper, lower wavelength "near-ir" LEDs.
