Not Great - Not At All What I Hoped For... My Mistake
The contents are a Copy of info posted at their Help site - that's fine. The site has very readable/usable info. The CON's:• Printed in 9pt font - causes headache after reading 5 minutes (with older person's eyes) and is crammed into a small book with 5"x7" page print area. Thus, worthless for someone with familiarity of using software of most any type. How many folks really need to learn how to draw a rectangle in a drawing or text doc?• Another book with useless examples - who the heck wants to spend time reading details of some screwy automobile fuel economy tracking when just wanting a reference book.No wonder why they didn't post a 'Look-Inside" feature! The PRO's:Paying for it was okay because (they say) the money helps fund their Open-Source continuance.

Not a fully adequate resource for learning Libre Office but a lot better than nothing.
The writing is okay (at best), however it is mostly lacking in design and organization. The other big issue is that the screenshots don't always include enough of the screen to fully understand what they are trying to explain not to mention that these screenshots are not at a high enough resolution either. Overall, the book is helpful, but at times it is a struggle to understand what they are trying to get across (particularly in the Base section) let alone follow along with the training examples.

Accurate and easy to use.
Folks, it's a starter for the entire suite of the offers from LO. It was excelant with no misdirections often found with any other wannabe offers for other app's. Writer, Base and Math were my interest and although the book on writer was way more help this sure gets you started. 5 star + from this buyer. Base 6.2 due tomorrow but so far am up and running with this starter ver.

Disappointed
I did not reaoize the current version is 7.+. The instructions didn't work as they were described. Had I known of the big discrepancy of versions I would not have bought the book. I'm notthrilled with LibreOffice itself, either.

Not User Friendly
When my Microsoft Office became unusable, and I had difficult trying to reinstall it from the original discs, I decided to use LibreOffice. A really excellent alternative to Microsoft Office, and it's free. But I found that 'Getting Started with Libre Office 6.0' , was, for me, verging on being comprehensive, but incomprehensible. To start with there is no index. Also, LibreOffice is a very powerful program with many features which 90% of users will never need. I think it would be better to divide the book into two sections, the first for users with basic needs, written in simple language without the usual jargon and with good screen shots , and the second covering the advanced features.
