Greenworks PRO 80V 4.0Ah Lithium-Ion Battery ((Genuine Greenworks Battery / 75+ Compatible Tools)

Expensive but plenty of power to do get a lot of grass trimmed ...

We have a 40V push mower and bought this as a replacement battery. I was concerned when it arrived as it is longer than their standard 80V battery. It still fits inside the battery holder of the mower just fine and we are looking forward to the extra capacity of this battery. Went with the Greenworks name brand battery after reading some the disappointed reviews of the after market batteries. This is a great battery for stationary equipment like the mower. It is also quite a bit heavier so I don't think I would use it in a tool you have to carry like a weed wacker or blower.

When my battery died, Greenworks customer service walked me through some troubleshooting with the battery/charger and tool then issued a warranty replacement battery. Although it took a few tries to make contact the total phone time was 15 min to register my tool and battery, troubleshoot, and then receive an order number for my replacement battery. I found the process to be concise and reasonable. I was able to do all of this through their browser chat option.I purchased my 80V Greenworks Leaf blower with 4Ah Lithium battery and charger from a membership store in January of 2023. I really like the functionality of the blower and since it is not gas powered I began keeping it in the house in the closet with the vacuum cleaner. I now blow off my deck and front porch regularly where before I would have only done it occasionally.Last week the blower suddenly stopped working. I realized it was the battery. Fortunately I was able to grab a charged one from my string trimmer.I was dreading the idea that this tool line I was steadily collecting was going to be a disappointment but after this experience I feel confident the brand has the customer service to make their product worth the premium price.I have now purchased this 4 Ah 80V lithium battery as a backup and intend to purchase their lawnmower in the near future.I live in the city and have front, side, and back yards that are big enough to require a real mower but are not simple rectangles. Being able to use all battery powered lawn tools is a complete game changer. This is a product line worth the investment.

This battery is longer than normal and doesn’t fit the same. I can use it in my mower but the lid cover doesn’t close.Fits ok (clicks in) in blower and weed trimmer but sticks out a bit awkwardly.Odd to me that on top of having so many voltage lines of batteries, Greenworks also has varying sizes for same voltage.

Awesome! It worked great! I used it today. I did the job and still had 2 bars left on my battery. Easy to use. Speed of charging is great. It fit in my 80 Volt green works lawn mower just fine. It was compatible. Weight is not too heavy. Very highly recommend! I love it!

I bought a Greenworks lawn mower in May 2025. The battery that came with the unit could not mow my 1/3 acre lot. I bought this "extended run" unit as a spare battery later that same month.The battery was expensive; discount alternatives were readily available. I chose the Greenworks battery in part because of the promised 3-year warranty.The battery performed exceptionally well throughout 2025 (essentially June to October). It easily handled my lawn on a single charge and left plenty of power for the next mowing.The battery's performance this year (it's been in service since late April) has degraded noticeably. It cannot completely mow the same lawn that it easily handled last year. Indeed, the small "original equipment" battery that came with the mower outlasts this "extended run" unit.I contacted the company for their promised 3-year warranty support. They wanted the serial number of the battery (a fair request), the model number of the battery (an odd request since that should have been apparent to them from the serial number), and both the model number and serial numbers of the lawn mower (requests that made me realize the likelihood of resolving the matter was zero). The rep mentioned they would also need the charger's serial number.When I balked at these extra requests, the rep warned me they would want to test and evaluate the battery's capacity. She cautioned that their assessment of my case would also entail a review of my lawn's grass density and hilliness.She ignored my description of the battery's diminished capacity. She also ignored my two requests that she pass me to a supervisor.This is a premium-priced product. The level of company support isn't worthy of a discount seller.BEWARE of purchasing this product and, given my experience, anything else from this company. The lawn mower performs well (at the moment), but when the batteries run down, or when the lawn mower itself breaks down, I will not buy from Greenworks again.

I use this as a backup battery for the Greenworks Leaf Blower 80V/ 170MPH/ 730CFM which I can’t review here bc I didn’t buy it on Amazon. But the blower and battery are awesome. I got the blower as a Costco special that came with the battery and charger and then bought this to have charging while I use the other one. I have no less than 20 mature white oak trees on half an acre and this pair has cut my yard work in half in terms of time and labor. The blower will move anything you need, wet or dry; leaves, sticks, cats, raccoons, small children.I think this battery actually lasts longer than the one the leaf blower came with from Costco even though the specs said it has a shorter run time. As for the people complaining that the blower was too heavy with the battery, idk what they’re on about unless they’re 5’ tall or elderly. I’m a 5’9 woman not in the best shape and I can carry that thing around for hours. My moms purse weighed more and I used to have to pack that around for her in the mall.Anyway, very happy with the battery. 5 stars.

Greenworks Pro quality. Not cheap but definitely a good quality. Use this in all my tools: mower, snow shovel, pole saw, chainsaw, blower. 80V is good power and 4ah makes it last longer. A bit heavier than the 2ah which was to be expected. Would buy again, but would love to see this fall on special at some point.

The Greenworks PRO 80V 4.0 Ah Lithium Ion Battery is a great upgrade if you’re using Greenworks 80V tools. Right out of the box it holds a strong charge, and I was able to get through multiple yard tasks without needing to recharge. It delivers solid, consistent power throughout the whole charge, even when using demanding tools like the blower and mower.

excellent battery .. gives a much longer use before it needs to be recharged than a 2.0 AH battery..much heavier than a 2.0 AH.. Only downside of this is using it in leaf blower

Very happy with this battery purchase. It definitely has much more power storage than the original 80V 2.0 Ah batteries and works really well. Fits the original charger without any problem and pops into our lawnmower without any issue. (The cover still closes). Be aware though that it is definitely a few inches longer than the original batteries. This could affect balance on certain shoulder/hand held items such as weed eaters. For lawnmowers and snowblowers though it's definitely a great upgrade.
