Good for the Money
I needed a replacement adapter for my laptop, an Acer, after one of the dogs chewed on the last section of cord between the transformer and the laptop plug-in. This one turned out to be one of most reasonably priced adapters I've found. However, I have two quips about it.First, the product photos don't represent the actual received adapter. The original adapter and the photos of this one show an "L"-shaped plug-in on the laptop end. This adapter came with a straight plug-in which makes it more subject to being hit, damaged, and just kocked out of the socket easier.Second, as I have read in other reviews of similar products, the transformer block does run considerably hotter than the original unit. I can live with it, but I will watch it closer than a person should have to. The higher temperature will most likely bring this adapter's lifespan to an earlier failure as well (dogs permitting). All in all, I give it 4 stars. It works, it was inexpensive, and it was delivered quickly.

Gets DANGEROUSLY HOT and SHORTER CORDS THAN OEM (Unit sold by BetterStuff LowerPrice / Hisgadget Inc)
I purchased this unit to replace my failed OEM (original that came with laptop computer) AC Adpater for my Emachines E525 and E725 laptop computers (incidentally Emachines, Acer, and Gateway are the same company). I purchased it from seller BetterStuff LowerPrice, which shows up on the Amazon.com invoice after purchase as "Hisgadget Inc". The price at $7.16 shipped (with Amazon Prime) was extremely low, the seller gets high customer service ratings, and the 2-day Amazon-fulfilled shipping was quick. Unfortunately, this product has 2 bad points, one minor and one MAJOR, that caused me to return it, even though this unit otherwise appeared to power the laptop properly. The unit I received looks similar but different to the one pictured. The black label with pale yellow lettering says "Replacement AC Adapter" in larger letters, "P/N: AK.065AP.015", then has input/output ratings, below which appears a small reverse-type rectangle with "REVA02". There are some warnings and a variety of warning and conformity symbols. There is small rectangular green power LED on the adapter "brick".First, the minor point, is that the power cords were significantly shorter than those of the original OEM AC Adapter, which was quite an inconvenience. This unit has a 48 inch 3-prong/grounded power cord (detachable and changeable with your own longer cord), and a 46-inch computer power cord (from the adapter "brick" to the computer power port), for a total length of just over 8 feet including the brick. The OEM AC Adapter (which on my laptop was model number ADP-65JH manufactured by Delta Electronics Inc.) has an almost 72-inch grounded power cord and a 70-inch computer power cord, for a total of about 12 feet including the brick. Now, if someone had told me this replacement adapter was 8 feet in length, I would have said "that sounds like plenty to me." However, in practice, the missing 4 feet made a big difference in where I could comfortable place my laptop without stretching the cable or straining the power port on my laptop. Even though you could simply replace the 3-prong cord with your own longer one to make up the difference (and even extend the length longer than the original OEM adapter), I see no reason why it should have been shortened, since the original 12 foot length seemed to be much more versatile (and was probably specified by Acer for this reason). This also is not a cost issue, since an extra 4 feet of cable would add like 1.5 cents to the production cost and maybe 10 cents to the purchase price to make a much better product. (I now notice that at least one other seller specifies "12 foot cord length", matching the OEM, but most do not say either way.) So, I deducted 1 star from my rating for this issue.Second, the MAJOR issue which caused me to reuturn this unit was the incredible, DANGEROUS HEAT that developed in the AC Adapter "brick" between the two included power cords. It was so hot, that if I were to touch it for about 3 seconds, I would have to pull my hand away or else probably actually be burned/injured. Before you presume I am exaggerating this, or have some kind of low tolerance to heat, or am just a whiny weakling that likes to complain about nothing, let me assure you this is not the case (I am a 38-year-old male, over 200 pounds, and 6'2" tall). I realize that products like this do warm up quite a bit, and that some units get hotter than others, and that proper ventilation is a must. However, this was just WAY TOO HOT! Injury potential aside, I can only presume that the great heat would shorten the life of the product (which I believe had a stated 1 year warranty in the seller's item notes/description) So, 2 more stars deducted from rating (would have deducted more, however the product DID otherwise work properly), and back it goes to Amazon/the seller.I will now try the same product from another seller at about the same price, since it will likely be from a different aftermarket manufacturer.(I will not purchase from another Amazon-fulfilled seller since Amazon pools different sellers' stock of the same products all together in their warehouses, meaning I would just get another of the exact same unit if I order from another Amazon-fulfilled seller).**UPDATE 7-9-2012:I received my alternate AC adapter from seller "dealheroes". This adapter says "Replacement AC Adapter Model: PA-1700--2". The power cables on both sides of the adapter brick are skewed all the way to one side, and the small green rectangular LED light is also not centered. The good: The adapter brick gets NOWHERE NEAR AS HOT as the adapter from BetterStuffLowPrice/hisgadget. It still runs a bit warmer than the OEM adapter (of which I still have 1 that works since I bought 2 very similar laptops) but not alarmingly so. Major problem solved. The bad. This adapter only has a 2-prong power cord so it's not grounded. I don't really know how this will affect me in the real world, but the OEM adapter was 3-prong grounded, so I would have preferred the same. (I noticed at lease 1 seller here states that you might get either the 2-prong or the 3-prong version depending on their stock). The total length of the cords and brick is still too short for my liking at about 8 feet. The ugly: The power tip that goes into your laptop is STRAIGHT and NOT ANGLED (unlike the photo on Amazon and unlike both the OEM and the faulty adapter I returned. So, it sticks out of the computer much more that I like. I am always worried that it will get knocked and damage the laptop's power port. Really unhappy about this. Also, the connection is slightly loose, but it is powering the laptop just fine. So, while the adapter is certainly not perfect, I guess I'm mostly satisfied, especially considering the price. I can't help feeling that one of these sellers, on the right day, will ship a good AC adapter that doesn't get too hot, with a 3-prong grounded plug, and an angled connector (but still too short). You have to get lucky, I guess...

Great value for the price.
Low price made this a no brainer purchase as a backup charger for my laptop. I also wanted the convenience of having a 2nd power supply instead of having to unplug and move the charger every time I worked in the other part of the apartment. The cord from brick to laptop is a little shorter than the OEM one I have, and the plug is straight where the OEM is 90 degree, but those are minor issues for me.

Working great so far
Ordered this supplemental power charger so i could simply get up and leave work when i needed without crawling under the desk to unplug the charger every time. I know this may make me sound lazy but after having made the switch I am never going back! The cord arrived on time and has worked very well since (I have had it for about two weeks).Great price, for a simple charger that works.
