These headphones completely surround the ear and are designed to fully seal against the head and to attenuate any intrusive external background noise. The large leather-type ear cushions are plush and provide maximum comfort. The extra wide dual rib headband is designed to provide a stable and comfortable fit, even for smaller heads. As on our other NC headsets, the NC-250V is equipped with our noise canceling microphone technology. The NC microphone provides the highest voice recognition industry rating from Nuance, delivering enhanced speech accuracy for speech recognition and VoIP applications. Great headphones, poor microphone
I just got this and tested it with Audacity (recording software), Dragon Naturally Speaking, Skype, and Winamp (listening to MP3s). The headphone quality is great and a the ear clasps hung my head, cutting out a lot of extraneous noise. However, the microphone is very poor. Listening to myself on a recording, it sounds like I'm talking through a long metal pipe. The dictation in Dragon is really does almost as poorly as when I use the microphone built in on my laptop, and and people on Skype have a lot of trouble understanding me. The problem persisted even after I used Windows' microphone tuning app. I am returning the headset and getting something else.

All but the connection.
I decided to keep this after an initial plug and play dissatisfaction. The connection needs some loving to get the sound to work. OVERALL i am happy with it. would be 5 stars if not for the occasional need to twist the cable for sound.

Excellent, good price and superb quality
I was looking for a pair of phones for Dragon Dictate. I found a lot of recommendations for deluxe (means expensive) headsets, until I found this. Overcoming my suspicions about the price and the promise of a good quality, I decided to buy this, based on some reviews in the internet, hailing its great price/quality ratio. I opened it, plugged and Dragon worked without a single error. Not to mention my great joy!

Falls apart very easily.

disappointment
My son used this set for an online reading program. At first the product was excellent. The microphone was much better than another company. After less than a dozen uses, part of the plug came off and stayed inside the computer tower. One side stopped producing sound as well. When I looked into returning the item, I realized that I can not get a full refund.....bummer.

A jewel used with the Dragon.
Excellent headset. I use it with Dragon Naturally Speaking 12.5. The combination produces the most accurate transcriptions I've experienced. This is the first time I've bothered to really learn all the features of Dragon. Much of the credit goes to Andrea's headset.
