Will it suck duckweed of the top of the pond? What about blanketweed too?

You would probably be better skimming the duckweed off with a net. It is an ongoing job I'm afraid. The vac could suck some of the blanketweed as long as your pond doesn't have many "obstacles" like rocks or pond plants etc. I have really only used it for removing (some) excess sludge from the bottom of the pond. After about a month the pond has gone completely clear for the first time in a few years so it has clearly done something to improve the ecology of the pond. It is not like vacuuming your living room though - you won't get a completely clean bottom unless it is literally just a cuboid with no nooks and crannies! I tend to (reluctantly use a chemical treatment to suppress the blanketweed.

It should suck up finding it all but just don’t keep you too long keep checking and do it gently

Should it come with castors? Mine has 'wheel holders' but no wheels to go in the holders
