Can I use this package to grow them in my basement?

well to grow them you would need either the spores or a piece of mycelium. these are dried so you'de be pressing your luck for either of those. i would look into spore syringes. these are generally used for cooking, and even these are so-so for that.

What is the country of origin?

On their website mycological.com the company says "Most of our wild products are harvested from the biologically rich temperate forests of the Cascadia bioregion."http://www.mycological.com/about/index.html

Is this product of China?

Actually, they sell maitake from China and the US but those sourced in the US are MUCH more expensive. These are from China. On their website, scroll to the bottom of the "Products" page to see the mushrooms sourced internationally. Their customer support is helpful.
