Still love this color, glad I switched to this gel from the liquid colorcharm. Last longer to me, color is on point. Using couple of years now.

Never disappoint with wella color.

Sometimes it’s hard to find this so when it’s available I snap it up as it works so well and doesn’t lighten over time. The color is a deep rich color and it works very well!

Correct product

I had black roots and light brown ends. I got ash light brown because according to the other reviews, these tend to run dark. So, I'm glad I went lighter because I was going for dark ash brown and sure enough, it even turned my light brown to dark brown just like most other reviewers stated. It dyed most of my grays (although not all) even though I left it on for the recommended time. I love it BUT only because I got the light brown. If I got the medium brown, it definitely would've turned it darker than this and I would've been irritated. I'm sure after a few washes it would lighten up though. It is definitely ash as stated at least. It turned my previous warm colors to ash.

This stuff RUINED my hair. It’s actually a VERY dark reddish brown color. I’m embarrassed to admit I thought the bad reviews were user error and I could do better. I’ve done my own hair for years and decided to change up my routine and try this instead because I couldn’t get my usual color. The color just isn’t what the box shows. My hair looked almost black when it washed out and I left it on there for half of the time recommended becsue it was just a light refresh, or it was supposed to be. The very dark color is red tinted and fades out very read as well. I will say, this brand lasts a long time tho. I’ve tried every trick in the book to fade the color and I’ve just had to wait it out the last 2 months and my hair is STILL dark and red tinted every so slightly.

This worked perfectly for me. I was completely blonde and tired of having yellow hair, so I purchased the Wella permanent gel in ash brown as I have a cooler toned brown hair colour naturally. This worked amazing and covered the blonde in one shot. It has lasted over a year while my natural hair has grown out and has not faded or turned red AT all. Typically browns have turned reddish on me over time as I wash my hair every day, but somehow this outlasted all of my hair washing and has helped my hair look beautiful and natural while growing out. Highly recommend doing some research before colouring your own hair though as there is lots to take into account for a good, lasting result. That being said, this took my hair from blond to the perfect ash brown without having to fill first, AND it has stayed beautiful. So it’s a great formula and it gives you more control than you get from just box dye. Again, research and make sure you are selecting the right dye type for what you need (eg. Demi, semi, permanent) and are selecting an appropriate level based on your current hair colour level. But Wella hair colouring system is fantastic. Good luck :)

I read in the reviews this color was in fact dark brown (even too dark as they expressed) and I wanted to get rid of a orangish copper (brown) hair dye I used 3 months ago from this same brand, it turns out is almost the same color as I had before. I wanted to go back to my natural hair color which is almost black brown and let it grow out naturally to never have to dye again, now I have to wait another 3 months to find a dye that actually looks like my dark brown and I might end up frying my hair 😭 seriously be aware of the copper brown, I hate this color.

Tube came dented, packaging box is broken too but still sealed. Just wanted to flag in case of future issues once I open the seal if product would produce any weird smell after opening.

I don’t know how to feel about this item. I find the scent rather strong. So much so that it burns my eyes. It didn’t give me an itchy scalp which was nice because usually these dyes do. However, I feel like the color is always off. The numbers on the box don’t really seem to match the color once it’s applied. my roots are always 1/2-one shade lighter than I feel like they should be. I only have this issue with this brand.

Great product and cheaper than Sally’s in Canada. Wow. Not worth going to that store any more. They have lost all decency and the greed drove up prices . Thank you for providing the product for a lot cheaper and delivery is right to my door. Why would I ever go back to that store???
