These are yummy and super convenient to just throw in a pot of beans or mix with flavored rice (like Rice a Roni) to get a meal when you have forgotten to get something out of the freezer for dinner. Don’t forget a quick vegetable like green beans or a salad; your body will thank you.

These are convenient and a good source of protein. Texture is different from whole ham but this does work in a pimch in cabbage dishes and soups. I'm thinking it would work in breakfast casseroles or cheesy potatoes, too. Maybe in baked beans. I like to keep canned foods on hand in case of emergency.

My market stopped stocking this. When my son was small, his favorite breakfast was "green eggs and ham" -- scrambled eggs with pesto and some of this chopped in. For a great side dish, chop up two cans with one head of cabbage, put it in an Instant Pot with a cup of chicken broth for two minutes. Really yummy!
