Dyson Soft Roller Cleaner Head for Dyson Models (For V11 Models)

Have this roller head for 4 months now, been using it everyday on hardwood floor cleaning. We prefer this one than the brush roller head that came with the V11 for hardwood floor. It is gentle to the touch and very effective in terms of picking up cat litter, fur, hair, dust from floor. Reason we decided to keep this on pretty much all the time because the brush roller left some permanent marking on the floor, while this one has not. Also, the swivel on this one is more flexible and easer to use than V11's factory brush roller head. However, for carpet we still switch to brush roller head since V11 will automatically adjust the rotating speed in response to the frictions on carpet, which is very effective sucking all the dust and debris embedded in carpet. This roller head does not have that automatic torque / speed control. However, for hardwood floor the single speed is more than enough. Another point is the two front wheels on this roller are much beefier than the ones under brush roller hand, they are thinner and tiny in comparison. After a year of use they wore out completely and made the brush roller unusable (I replaced them). It is unlikely it will happen to this roller since the front wheels are much thicker. Anyway, glad we bought this Dyson roller head.

Let me just start by saying that after receiving the package and before opening it I almost returned it about 3 different times because I was not convinced that $100 vacuum attachment was a wise purchase. I live in a very small apartment with a cat that tracks her litter all over the hardwood and it drives me bonkers. They regular attachment that came with the dyson just kicks it around which is even more frustrating so I finally decided to try this and oh my goodness it is worth every penny!!! My cat is also scared of vacuums and this attachment is quite a bit quieter so she is less scared and doesn't run away when I use it anymore. I do agree with many other people that for the outrageous price of a dyson this should be included but the functionality of this attachment is great.

Wanted this because I felt that the powerhead that came with the V11 Torque was scratching my floors. I've been procrastinating about getting it because of the cost of the vacuum itself and then add another $100 onto that. I finally bit the bullet and went for the $100 because that was cheaper than having to re-do my floors. I have a cat and some litter and I feel that it picks up the litter better than the regular powerhead. My floors also seem less dusty after using this. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the movement .. it swivels easily and the other powerhead did not. I feel I don't have total control over where this thing is going. But, I'll deal with it and I'm sure I'll get used to it after using it a week or so. I also checked the head itself after I vacuumed all the hardwoods (litter and all) and there was nothing caught on or in the rollers which I was concerned about. So all in all, I'm pleased and I would recommend it to anyone concerned about their hardwood floors

A little expensive, but it is Dyson. Clean really well on hard wood floor and even on carpet. But the motor stop rotating after 6 months.

To start off, this is definitively the CORRECT unit for V11 models. I myself have the Torque Drive, and while I was disappointed that it didn't include the Soft Roller out of the box for what I paid, it was a worthwhile addition nonetheless.While the included Torque Drive Brush does work well enough on hardwood floors, it is quite loud and fills me with anxiety that I'm scratching up my floor. The Soft Roller is extraordinarily quiet and indeed soft, and picks up every tiny piece of lint, dirt, hair, and debris that I roll it over. It is motorized identically to how the Torque Drive Brush is.Some people complain that the clear plastic on the top of the Soft Roller comes already cracked/damaged, but despite its appearance, I can assure you that it's simply part of the original design (just look at the photo on the listing).All in all, an excellent addition to my ever growing arsenal of Dyson vacuum attachments!

Moved into a new home with hardwood hickory floors-this has been a great solution to getting all of the dust and dirt from the cracks and crevices without doing damage to the floors. It works wonderfully well. Only negative is that the swivel head could be a little more resistant—seems to turn too easily.

My V10 dyson head was all beat up. This one fits perfectly. No extra noise. Suction is still the same. Really good quality.
