BEST SPRAYER I HAVE EVER PURCHASED
I would dare say that this Chapin Premier Sprayer is the BEST sprayer I have ever purchased. The container wall material itself is solidly cast, but transparent enough to quickly see the liquid levels. The spray tip is perfect and easily adjusts for Insecticide (fan pattern) or spot spraying Herbicide (narrow). When properly assembled, there are no drips when the handle is released. The large opening makes for extremely easy filling and mixing. I used a Sharpie to highlight gallon marks, and use Teflon tape for all the threaded connections. The lid threads on very easily, and the hanger for the sprayer hose is GENIUS. NOTE: The hanger part on the lid needs to be tightened PAST the relief valve for a positive seal and proper hanger positioning. I bought a 4 pack of TR-416-S valve stems so I can easily pressurize the sprayer. I contacted Chapin customer support with a question and was amazed at how fast they responded and how helpful they were. I now have a reliable sprayer that is extremely easy to use, a big improvement over the myriad of past sprayers I've purchased that turned out to be one-use-only. Thank you, Chapin, for making my life easier!

Amazing Sprayer!
I absolutely love this sprayer! The distance and power this sprayer has is excellent! I have been using this sprayer to remove aphids from my plants and it works amazing! It has the power of a hose but way easier to maneuver around garden beds. The nozzle is not plastic and can come apart, which is awesome for keeping it clean. I always have issues with clogging of the spray nozzles and and I donโt foresee it being an issue with this sprayer. All the additional attachments are a great addition and they can conveniently hang onto the sprayer itself. I have also used this sprayer to water my beds of lettuce and carrot seeds. Way more gentle then just hose attachments and has worked excellent for that purpose. I also love the durability of the sprayer tank itself, it will definitely be a long lasting sprayer! This sprayer is a little more pricy then your standard sprayer but I think is worth every penny!

Quality has gone down
I have bought a dozen of these in the last ten years. last two started showing the lack of quality. price has gone up - quality has come down. the most recent one failed to work out of the box; would not hold pressure - Leaks out from the cap. Yes, the gasket is there - just poor manufacturing and quality control. I bought it from another vendor and did not need it immediately - unfortunately by the time I found out it was too late to return. I called the customer service and reached an Indian call center... you can guess how that turned out. I am salvaging parts to see if I can assemble a working unit. But will not buy anything not made in America or Japan gain.

Add yourself a shraeder valve - no pumping
It's not super fancy, but it's effective; about like grandpa's old metal sprayer, but poly-ethlsomething so it's more durable. I like the brass fittings, but the tip seems to change spray pattern with the pressure you pump into it. Not sure if it's me or just a strange tip. Overall I like this sprayer and prefer it over the $100 backpack sprayer I was using since this sprays forever once you pump it up. I use it for poison and fertilizer, and with soap as well. No complaints - for Amazon's price this is a perfect sprayer. Like the discharge button too - very conveninent. Added a shraeder valve - no more pumping! Jason

Solid performer at a reasonable price
This sprayer is definitely a big step up from the ten dollar model that I purchased at the local home improvement store. The wand, connective parts, and trigger mechanism are all solid brass as opposed to the flimsy and leaking plastic pieces of the el cheapo model. The pressure release valve is a welcome addition, one not present on the most basic sprayers. The pump mechanism actuates and pressurizes the tank contents very quickly and efficiently. Still there are several issues with this sprayer that prevent me from giving it 5 stars. Firstly, the rubber connecting hose feels squishy, weak and cheap. An industrial grade hose with a spiral spring wound reinforcement would be much more durable and appropriate here. Secondly, the volume/calibration scale on the tank exterior is nearly impossible to see, the marks are slightly raised, but invisible. I took a black sharpie, and traced over the lines and numbers in order to assist in filling the sprayerโthe scale should be raised, as well as overprinted in black ink to make the process of mixing and filling easier. Thirdly, the pump plunger handle appears to be simple uncoated steel, and according to many comments that I have read, appears to be prone to rust and deterioration. Replacing the shaft with either stainless steel, brass, or the cheapest alternative, a resin coated steel, would probably greatly extend the service life of this sprayer. And finally, the nozzles. My sprayer came with one that allowed for a narrow, highly concentrated stream (great if your shooting at weeds 30 feet away) but when an attempt was made to adjust it to a wider cone pattern, it just leaked all over the place. I then ordered a separate fan nozzle, that sprays a fixed 2 foot wide pattern that is great for spraying large sections of weeds, and I then also purchased an adjustable nozzle that sprayed a true cone shaped pattern without leaking. It seems to me that a small nozzle kit, with a varied selection of fixed size spray patterns should be available. (like vacuum cleaner attachments) Plastic would probably be adequate for the housings, as long as the actual nozzle openings were ceramic. This would keep the price way down compared to solid brass, and would be more than adequate for most applications. I think that all of my suggestions could be incorporated into this sprayer without significantly raising the manufacturing costs, so Chapin, take note!

Impressive Sprayer
After so much rain in So. Cal. the weeds popped up everywhere! I wanted a more commercial type of sprayer instead of those cheap big box ones and I wasn't disappointed. The large throat made it easy to pour in the weed killer and the pump action was easy and responsive. I could shoot a thin stream a looong way and transition to a closer mist without dripping all over the place thanks to the brass wand and nozzle. I liked the pressure release knob which didn't shoot chemical all over the place and the rubber hose was quite sturdy. I would definitely recommend this sprayer!

Works after you fix the quality problems
Can confirm with other online reviews that these things have problems out of the box with leaking. The unit will not hold pressure due to the top rim having excess plastic flashing from the mold process. I had to trim plastic burrs and thin excess to get the unit to seal and even then I have to CRANK DOWN THE TOP TO THE MAX to achieve a seal. The hose threads in the tank leaked due to excess plastic burrs and plastic waste from the mold process. Holes in the tank appears to have been made using a heated tool that left plastic strings in the threads. I had to use Teflon plumbing tape to achieve a seal. Disappointed in the quality of the tank finishing. Other than that I like the performance so far and if it ends up sucking later I'll update here My photos show the rim AFTER TRIMMING and the other pics are before I drilled out the excess plastic and cleaned up with razor knife

Heavy-duty, well made and safe sprayer for heavy-duty herbicides!
We had purchased a very heavy-duty herbicide that potentially we would mix with diesel fuel to spray out in this sprayer. After a lot of research, chose this sprayer and could not be happier. It is well worth the price, with brass fittings and everything on this sprayer will last for years, meaning it does not have to go to a landfill once a cheap replacement is purchased. This was a great solution for us to use a variety of herbicides over the course of years not a single season.

Not the best unit for precision treatments
Decent unit other than the dripping at the nozzle tip after the flow trigger has been released. I use it for interior pesticide spray and would recommend a different nozzle and gasket. The cardboard like material saturates quickly and causes another drip point.
