Corelle Livingware Corelle Fun Packs, 5 Pieces, Winter Frost White

This was a true bargain--excellent product and great price. A long-time Corelle fan, I purchased an extra set for my son and his two boys (baby & toddler) so they could share the "ultimate cereal bowl experience" together some day. Bowls are perfect for so much more than cold cereal and a dream to wash quickly w/o the dishwasher. My main purpose was to Microwave Whole Oatmeal from scratch each morning. Using only medium power (400 watts) and a loose cover (a porcelain lunch plate on top), it only requires about 4 minutes approx. I use a little extra water and allow it to sit and plump even more for 5 minutes after cooking. No explosions so far. The 28 oz bowls are useful for cold cereal of course, but to cook most any frozen veggie, soups, etc in microwave--Medium Heat or Lower. Good for small mixing bowl for dumplings, biscuit mix, tuna salad, and eating messy desserts, etc. Large bowl is perfect for heating / serving anything, especially popcorn because it is so light and a dream to clean. You cannot go wrong with this purchase!

My family has been using Corelle dinnerware for more than 20 years. My mom has a set of Corelle dishes/platters from 20+ years ago that are still going strong and currently in use! This is how durable and long-lasting they are! Corelle dinnerware is made from Vitrelle, a tempered glass that contains two types of glass laminated in three different layers. This gives the dinnerware superior strength and makes it more chip-resistant when compared to normal dinnerware. They are also more lightweight than porcelain or ceramic, and the material is surprisingly thin considering its hardiness. That being said, they are by no means shatter resistant, just generally stronger. I think my mom ended up losing a total of two plates from her original set over the 20 years. I purchased this Corelle Livingware 5-pack set with four 28 oz bowls and one 2 quart serving bowl while Amazon was having a sale during the holiday season. What I like about these particular bowls is their deep-set shape. Most of the sets Corelle have available don't contain these deep-set bowls but come with shallower smaller-sized soup bowls. These 28 oz bowls, on the other hand, make the perfect ramen/noodle bowls, especially if they're soup-based, and hold a decent amount of volume. There is also a 2-quart shallower bowl included in this set that makes a decent serving bowl. My only complaint is that I wish Corelle would offer these bowls in more variety of designs. There are so many retired designs that I wish they would bring back, but ever since World Kitchen bought Corelle/Corningware, it seems like they've taken to introducing more abstract/modern designs rather than the simple floral patterns I prefer. Only the color "Frost" (pure white) was available for sale for this particular set, so I ended up purchasing it. They are a bit plain for my tastes, but if you like a minimalist design, this would be great! Hopefully they'll last 20+ years!

The Corelle individual 28-ounce bowls are my favorite. They are just the right size and shape. Just large enough to enjoy a full sized helping of soup or to be able to enjoy your morning cereal without it overflowing when you add the milk to the bowl. With other bowls, they always seem too small to be able to enjoy soup in them without feeling like it's about to spill out because of their shallow nature. The depth of these allow for you to have a very hearty serving of soup, and not have the contents sitting right at the bowls rim about to overflow. As with other dishes made by Corelle, they are tremendously sturdy. They take topples down onto our laminate floor in the kitchen all the time (young kids in the home) and never break, crack or chip. It takes a very large impact to break a Corelle dish. Really a great brand to go with for family's with kids in the home. They can take the hits and still keep going. The large 2-quart serving bowl is great for salads and especially good for defrosting meats from the freezer. There is always an issue as to what to put meat in when defrosting it in the refrigerator to prevent any liquids from them from getting on anything else. Most bowls and containers are ether too large or way too small. The 2-quart serving bowl works PERFECTLY for this! I did not have ANY issues with flaws in my bowls as another reviewer mentioned. Not a bubble or imperfection of any sort.

I remembered the Corelle my mother used to have holding up well to abuse, so I decided to replace my old tempered-glass dish set (with many missing pieces) with these. I didn't want heavy dishes because I have arthritis and am not getting any younger. Instead of buying a boxed set of so many place settings, I opted for the six-packs of dinner plates, luncheon plates, and bread-and-butter plates plus the Fun Pack that has the serving bowl and four large 28 oz. bowls. I plan to get colorful mugs and placemats to complement the dishes. The dinner plate is perfect as a microwave cover for the serving bowl, and the bread-and-butter plates are perfect to cover the individual bowls. The plates stack efficiently in my cupboard; using one of those Closet Maid-type shelfs, I can stack all six of the dinner plates and bread-and-butter plates on the top and the luncheon plates (with serving bowl on top) and the four bowls stacked side by side underneath in just one small area of my cupboard. For an apartment with relatively little kitchen cabinet space, this is a real blessing. Some have complained that these bowls seem thin, but remember: they are Corelle, and the Vitrelle material they are made of is not your usual stoneware or tempered glass. I actually dropped a plate on the floor the other day from sink height (not something I'd recommend you deliberately do!), and it bounced on the vinyl flooring and did not break. I expect these dishes will hold up very well in daily use (microwave, dishwasher, oven), and they won't off-gas dangerous chemicals in the microwave like plastics will.

I have spent way too much money through the years on trying to find the right size soup and cereal bowls. I read the rave reviews on this product and thought I would give it a shot. Well I am so glad I did. These are very lightweight but very sturdy!! I can't even count how many times I thought I must have chipped (or worse)one or more of the bowls. (We don't have a dishwasher and we have young boys) Its light enough for my youngest to carry on his own to the table and large enough to satisfy my teens cereal cravings. They are microwavable. They don't stain and the food pratically slides right off when washing. I didn't think I would use the larger bowl very often but I was so wrong. Its the perfect size and shape bowl for serving so many dishes. I would have to buy another one if anything happened to this one. My only complaint is I wish there was a large variety of colors. I am going to put this on my gift set list for friends and family. My whole family including my mom has commented on how much they like these.

I love Corelle - so light and durable and simple. These (set of four) bowls are a great shape, and I love them for that , but they nest really poorly, so you need to consider your shelf space/depth before buying them. Still, they are a terrific size and shape for eating from, which is why I like them so much. The one big bowl is a different shape altogether. It nests well and will do well as a serving bowl. I am pleased with this purchase.

I absolutely love these bowls! I saw them at a local store and knew right then I had to have them. However, they were $6.59/piece and I couldn't justify spending that much on a bowl. Of course I turned to Amazon to find a better price. I found this set that included 4 of the bowls I desired and one larger bowl. When I received them in the mail, they were packaged well. I was glad to see they were the same bowls I saw in the store. I ran them all through the dishwasher and they came out sparkling clean. These bowls are impressively deep. They are the perfect soup or cereal bowl! The size is what I love most. The one large bowl that this set comes with will be handy to have as well. This entire set is very sturdy, does well in the dishwasher, and the white color looks very clean and sharp. Get these bowls if you want to enjoy a big hearty bowl of soup or indulge in your favorite cereal!

Since you're at this page you've already found this particular set of 4 small bowls and one large serving bowl to be one of the best values. Corelle sells through all kinds of sellers and according to the manufacturer; different sellers have different models and packages and there can be a huge range in pricing. You are also probably here because you already know what Corelle is and how it compares to other products so I won't dwell on that but rather give you a few quick highlights of this particular set: 1. I had a hard time visualizing how big (or small) these bowls actually are so I posted a photo comparing them to a common chicken egg. Hope it helps. 2. Same with the shape. The small bowls have steeper sides than most bowls, which is exactly what I was looking for. The photo shows how steep. 3. The sides of the larger bowl are not as steep; you can compare them in the photos. 4. One thing some people don't like about Corelle is that it was not as thick as some other materials. I was impressed with the "heft" of these new bowls and compared it to a 20 year-old set of Corelle that I own. The photo shows an appreciable increase in thickness in the newer bowls. 5. Corelle is still made in the U.S.A. 6. These bowls ARE microwave safe, follow the directions. I chose them because most melamine bowls and plates are not microwave safe. 7. These bowls are glass but it's really hard to break them. They are 3-layers thick. I've never broken a Corelle product in over 20 years of using them. But the manufacture says that even if you break one and it’s your fault they will replace it for 3 years. 8. Important: Corelle products are coated with something at the factory to avoid scratching in shipment. Hand wash or put them through one dishwasher cycle before using them for the first time. I think this set of 4 small and 1 large bowl is an excellent value. I’m also impressed that they still make their products in the U.S.A. Isn’t it nice to find something in 2016 that is still as good (if not better) than something made 20 years ago?

Los platos hondos son más grandes de lo que esperaba, y no se apilan muy bien, a diferencia de los que están incluidos en la vajilla completa, pero aparte de eso son de muy buena calidad, y el plato hondo puede servir muy bien de ensaladera.
