Excellent RPG
Fallout: New Vegas is a great entry in the Fallout series and a great RPG in general. The game follows the story of a courier outside of "New Vegas" Nevada in post-apocalypse America. The main story line is entertaining and allows you to have a lot of fun travelling and making good or bad choices, sometimes these choices influence how other people in the game interact with you. Combat in the game is also fun and challenging; there are always multiple ways to take down your opponents. There is also a tremendous amount of side quest content, I found myself getting distracted frequently from the main story due to these, it wasn't a bad thing though! This particular edition of Fallout: New Vegas, the "Ultimate Edition" contains 5 DLC packs for the game. Four of these packs are additional missions and one is a bonus weapons pack. These DLC packs add a little more to the game and allow you to get special weapons and apparel not found in the regular edition of the game. I only have one complaint about this game, albeit a small and controversial one. This game is notorious for being buggy and crashing frequently (especially the DLC packs). There were many occasions while playing this game that it crashed for either for too much action happening on screen, or for no reason at all. It was extremely frustrating at times to repeat the same sequence over again for something as silly as the screen freezing. However, this is to be expected. Fallout: New Vegas is an extremely massive environment, filled to the brim with different elements that put the Xbox 360 through its paces. In order to provide the least amount of frustration with this issue I would recommend installing this game on your Xbox 360 hard drive and saving frequently. Overall Fallout: New Vegas is a blast! It provides an intriguing story line with lots of action and side quests. The crashing can be an annoyance at times, but it isn't enough to detract from the overall ride this game gives. If you are a fan of Fallout or RPGs I would recommend picking up a copy of this game.

One of the best fps rpgs ever.
This game was awesome. The amount of detail that went into this game is amazing. There is so much you can do and so much to explore. Plus, every time you start a new game you follow a different path and have a completely different experience. This is the type of game where you can easily have over 100 hours of playtime. Having all the dlc included is also a great perk and adds hours of gameplay and new experiences. If you liked Fallout 3 or Fallout 4 then you will love this game. If you didnโt like either of those then I would expect that you wouldn't like this one then either. My only complaint about this game is that it can be a little glitchy. Sometimes it will bug out and missions wonโt sequence properly or start the way they are supposed to. I had a mission that would not start and I was doing everything I was supposed to do. My only recommendation is to have multiple save files and save often so if you encounter a bug you can load a previous save and not lose too much progress. Overall though, this game is a must play in my book if you like first person shooters with rpg elements. At the time I bought it for $19.99 and for that price it was worth every penny.

Masterpiece
By far the best console game in the Fallout series. The story, setting, characters, and consequences of the playerโs actions, made for great immersion. The DLCs included in this edition truly made this game โultimate.โ To experience FNV fully, play the game on Disc 2. There is a high degree of replay-ability and quality writing that modern games lack. Each play-through is unique, and I always find myself discovering new things each time I start a new game. Obsidian Entertainment masterfully embedded details that paid homage to the previous Fallout games and made a new difficulty (hardcore mode), maybe the first Fallout to do so. There are times where loading screens or intense gameplay sequences can result in the game crashing, but the quick time to load the game and ability to skip after the โBethesdaโ slide makes that negligible (with auto-save). Even when it crashes on console, the save files remain playable and are not corrupted/lost. There are bugs that are present and more info can be found on Fallout Fandom. However, these bugs are easily resolved or can be avoided entirely.

One of the greatest of all time video games.
one of the best games I've ever played with so much replayable value. different story options every playtrhough, different character builds and loadouts every playtrough. i had gotten FNV back in the day im pretty sure as part of the XBOX gold pass (or whatever it was called) from back in the day near the end of the 360 console cycle. recently went to replay and saw all the DLC available. unfortuante but not understandable that there are no longer any kind of xbox 360 DLC bundles for FNV. i saw this and was juiced! instead of having the hassle of buying each DLC a-la-carte on the 360 market place i got this which gave me 1) a physical copy of the game 2) options to play on the 360 and XBOX ONE for the price of one 3) came with all the DLC for FNV, including the weapon DLC 4) all this cost me $5 less then a-la-carte purchases off 360 store if you want a game you can play over and over again pick this classic up.

Alternative Install
I like the game, but had problems installing the DLCs. I followed the instructions on the Bethesda website video for Xbox One. When I inserted disk 2 and looked on the home page for the install disk icon it wasn't there. I looked in the same place the video shows it. Turning the console off and on, unplugging it, reinserting both disks didn't solve the problem. I played for a while without the DLCs and liked it so I uninstalled the game and tried installing it again. Same result. Next I uninstalled the game, ejected disk 2 and reinserted it. A message appeared saying an update was required. When I clicked OK the game began installing (without disk1). On the manage game page the game was shown installing and all the DLCs where queued up. After several hours the console shut off. When started, everything was loaded. My saved game was still there. I don't know why I had this problem. Comments on the Bethesda video say that the recommended sequence works on Xbox One. If you have similar problems try what worked for me. All that said, I do like the game. I've played Fallout 4 extensively and repeatedly. This game doesn't have the spiffy graphics, but it is just as much fun. Gameplay is good. Quests are interesting. Weapons are good and plentiful. The faction interplay in even more complex than Fallout 4. To the point the that I soon had two factions attacking me on sight without trying. So I just have to kill them. There are still plenty of factions left.

Installation Advice and Welcome to Newcomers
To those of you who this might be their first time buying an Xbox One Compatible game (I've only since downloaded my old treasured games), Allow me to provide install instructions. First (1) install the first disc with updates. Second (2) insert the second disc. This will launch the game. Third (3) Go to the Xbox One Dashboard and select "My Games and Apps" and select "Fallout: New Vegas" by pressing the menu button (the one with 3 horizontal lines) and select "manage game" and then "see in store". Below this will be your addons. Select and download the dlc you wish to experience at no cost to you. The second disc authorizes the "purchase" so to speak. Now the tutorial is out of the way. The game runs just as good as before back when bumming with your friends was still a thing. To new comers, enjoy what many hail as the balance of classic in depth rpg elements and the thrill of an FPS. Choose wisely with everything you do and may Lady Luck be by your side when you ride into New Vegas. I'll keep it spoiler free for you guys. This is a fantastic game with intentional replay value. You can touch base ROUGHLY everything in newer Bethesda games but conquering the Wasteland of the West is a lot different than what you're used to. From impressing Vegas gamblers and gangsters to waging wars amongst the many tribes of post-nuclear society the game is deep and echos of many troupes both in gaming and cinema. To older fans like myself...Screw Boston. Seriously though it's nice to get back on the saddle.

Review of the DLC/Expansion
Here is my review of the ultimate edition Fallout:New Vegas pack. I purchased this game after having played through the regular New Vegas missions, and started the new content with a player that was already about level 30. It was fun to revisit the Fallout world after a year and a few months of not having played the game. -Honest Hearts This one was fun. The story is good and as the player you are forced to make some moral decisions about where to go next. 1911's and Tommy Guns! Hell yes! About time. The maps are really well done, beautiful really. 8 out of 10 stars. It would have been 10 out of 10 but it was a bit on the easy and quick side for a high level player. Once the main campaign missions are done the map gets very peaceful and quiet, which makes going back there for any reason kind of pointless. The ending prize contains what is probably the best pistol in the game. -Old World Blues I was mixed about this one. Some of the quests were fun and compelling, others were not. I did like the plethora of new equipment, and the back story was a good one. Despite being a high level character I got the beatdown quite a few times, so tactics were important. 7 out of 10 stars. -Lonesome Road This brings some new elements to the story, and you finally get to meet the 'other' courier that is alluded to in the main New Vegas campaign. The end battle is epic, in fact I never legitimately beat it - a bug of some sort launched the main bad guy up in to the air right when the fighting started on my 8th or 9th attempt to kill him, and he 'kersplatted' when he hit the ground. Fine by me. Some decent loot in this mission, hours of difficult gameplay, and lots of shooting. -Dead Money I played this DLC mission last, which is good, because I absolutely hated it and if I would have played it first it is likely I would have skipped the others. It's simply just not fun, or compelling, or interesting enough to make the running around in the dark recesses of the town outside the casino, or inside the casino itself, worth it. The most prominant bad guys will literally absorb 20 or so shots before they die, which gets old. I basically had to resort to stirring one or two up and then running away while shooting at them. Boring and tedious. The final 'boss fight' is a big letdown too. Veteran Fallout 3/NV players will key in to the fact that there are automated turrets to do their bidding, so it's a matter of just switching them on and watching the antagonist die. But, that's not all...then there is a final frustrating run for life from the recesses of the casino. It took me several tries to get it right and at the end I was literally swearing at the screen because I just wanted this awful mission to be over. 4 out of 10 stars. Not even a pile of money made it worth the hours of frustration and boredom. The weapons you take away are weak, the loot is only okay, very skippable. Gun Runners' Arsenal and Courier's Stash New weapons, mods, armor, locations, etc. Cool stuff most of it, some of it is just a retread of what was already in the game. Overall the ultimate edition DLC stuff is worth it. Yes, some bugginess remains but it only comes up infrequently. Bringing new life in to a game I haven't played in a long while makes the purchase a good one in my eyes.

best of the consoles
ok, so I bought this on ps3 about a year ago, played through it several times, noticed a crash or choppiness every so often. Then I started old world blues, it worked great for about 20 minutes, allowed me to get through the first dialogue scene with the brains, as soon as I stepped out into big MT, the game crashed. After trying again many times, it froze as soon as I stepped outside. After starting a new game, it crashed way more often. Apparently after so many hours the game starts to die pretty much. Friends of mine told me about the 360 version, and how they had never had problems with it. Sure enough, I've put about 70 hours into this game so far on the xbox, not one crash, or sudden spike of choppiness. I have to say that if you love this game but experienced similiar problems on the ps3 version, I reccommend you buy the 360 edition. If you haven't played this game at all, I highly reccommned this to all fans of rpgs, its one of the best games I've ever played, the other reviews can tell you more about the game itself, I simply wanted to say that this is the version that runs the smoothest out of the 2 consoles, as for pc I don't know.
