Perfect for high, tilted cervix!
I’m in my mid-30s, I have a very high and very tilted cervix (up and to my left), I have vestibulodynia (nerve pain at the entrance of my vjj), and I have been using menstrual cups for 10+ years — from way back in the Dark Ages of Cups (~2007), when we only had the Keeper, the Moon Cup, and the Diva. Since then, I have tried tons of different cup brands, styles, sizes, etc. I LOVE using cups instead of pads and tampons, but the main problem for me has been that they always leak, which is really common for people who have a high, tilted cervix (ahem). A secondary problem for me is that because almost all cups have a very thick lip around the top rim, I find them quite painful (temporarily) to insert and remove because of my vestibulodynia. The Lily is the first cup I’ve EVER USED that does not leak and does not hurt. I can hardly believe it. I’ve worn it for two cycles now and, for the first time ever, was able to not have to wear a pantyliner at the same time. The Lily is a very tall cup, so it’s good for those of us who have high cervixes. I also think the angled rim helps in positioning the cup to accommodate the tilt of mine. The silicone material is *extremely* soft, much softer than any other cup I’ve previously used. Instead of that thick lip at the top that most other cops have, the Lily has a bit of a ledge around the inner circumference at the top. This, coupled with the soft silicone material, makes insertion and removal an EFFING BREEZE and nearly painless, which is honestly a godsend for me. However, the super soft material also meant the Lily didn’t expand/seal immediately upon insertion; it stayed “dented” on one side for several minutes. I had to rotate the cup a few times and use my index finger to press on its side, and eventually it expanded and sealed. Removal was easy, and the stem feels like it’s really strongly connected to the base of a cup and won’t be easily ripped off (a common problem with many other cup designs). Using the Lily was the first time I’ve ever removed a cup where there wasn’t also blood on the outside of the cup (which means no leaks!!). I nearly cried: I’ve finally found a cup that (1) is tall enough (high cervix), (2) has an angled top (tilted cervix), (3) is made of super soft silicone (better for my pain issues), and (4) doesn’t have that super thick lip around the top edge (ditto). I swear, the person who designed this cup must have the same anatomy as I do! SO GRATEFUL, immediately buying another. Thanks a million, Lily!

Learn from my 4 years of menstrual cup mistakes
I used the Diva cup for about three years before I decided to try something new. The Diva cup was fine... it never leaked but it wasn’t exactly comfortable. The description suggested I needed the larger size (I’m over 30 and have no children) but I always suspected I needed a smaller size because it didn’t quite feel right. I read the reviews of several cups and decided to try the Lena cup. This time I ordered the smaller size. Big mistake. The Lena cup is firmer than the already firm Diva cup and they both have a thick lip around the top, which made them both unpleasant to remove. What’s worse, I leaked profusely for the first three days of my period, almost like I wasn’t even wearing a cup. I tried different insertion methods and nothing worked. After four months of battling the Lena cup, I did a lot of research. I read that different cups work for different women because of the position of the cervix. I’ve tried finding my cervix before (after reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility) but never felt it, so when I read that some women have a high cervix I suspected this might be me. I also read that the cervix is in its lowest position on the first day of your period so when my next period started, I felt for it. Sure enough, it was there but it was way up there. The Lily cup is longer, softer, and narrower so I thought it may be the answer to my mentrual cup woes. Inserting it on day 1 was a little different than the others because it’s so much longer. After a couple attempts, I thought I had it in place. I dumped it twelve hours later and what happened surprised me... there was no bloody mess. I always got blood all over my fingers when dumping and cleaning the Diva cup and I looked like a field surgeon in wartime when dumping the Lena cup (blood EVERYWHERE). Cleaning is way easier with the Lily cup because the blood is completely contained in the cup with nothing on the outside. No matter which cup I use, it rarely feels like it opens up all the way inside me. That was still the case with the narrower Lily cup but I think it fit right below my cervix so it didn’t matter. Did I mention how much less blood there is with the Lily cup? There’s not even any in the vaginal canal, it’s all contained in the cup. After four years of wearing cups, I can’t believe I didn’t know this was possible. The mess made me dread going to the bathroom, I hated the messy process and the discomfort trying to pull the others out with the thick ring around the lip. It’s a completely different experience with the Lily cup, no discomfort and almost no mess. Every body is different so this cup won’t work for everyone. But if you try a cup and it’s uncomfortable (either wearing it or removing it) or if you leak, don’t put up with it. Try another one. And definitely check for the position of your cervix on the first day of your period... if it’s high or tilted, there are cups made specifically for you. Check out putacupinit.com for great info.

Hit or miss
I like how soft and thin the silicone is. I wish that it came Un-colored, though it does say it is medical grade, but since it is in my body I'd prefer non colored. My first menstral cup was the Diva, and I'm absolutely passionate about menstral cups which predate tampons as an invention, and are FAR superior in every way(Give money grubbing, TSS promoting, environment destroying tampon companies the middle finger now, and own your cycle)! If you're on the fence do it! It has changed my life so much for the better. That said, I was in need of a new cup ( it's advised you change your cup every 8 mo) and was excited to graduate to a new advanced technology. The reviews are the best for this brand so I enthusiastically jumped on board. Like many others the first time I intserted it, it absolutely suctioned itself to my cervix. I thought no problem, I got this, and I pinched it and folded the pinch thinking it would release the suction, and it managed to go up higher filling the cup wth my organs- I learned may more about my atatomy then I ever wanted to know. After at least 20 minutes of time bearing down and reaching beyond my imagination and using a yogi determination I got it it off. So disappointed, but I was in China and didn't bring a back up solution, and having bought tampons in China before and feeling like a criminal for being a bleeding human, I told myself you're going to have to make this work. This cup has no holes in it unlike the Diva. Not wanting a repeat of the excercise from before, I cut two little holes in the top, under the rim. It suctioned again to my cervix, but the holes (?) helped me get it un-suctioned easier, I presume. I'm now on my third cycle and this cup is hit or miss for me. It inserts easier than Diva because it is thiner softer silicone, and pops open easier, on my first two cycles it suctioned an 1/8 of the inserts and leaked less and (if not suctioned) easier to revive than Diva. On my last cycle though, it has not suctioned at all but was inserted improperly more often than not- so that it was either capturing menses, or it was running down the sides of the Lily not doing anything at all. I can't feel the difference to know it'll it is in a way that will capture. I've been rereading instructions, kegling, testing with my finger and I can't figure out how some times it's working and sometimes it's not. I'm not giving up yet, I'm still on a learning curve, and I want to love this cup, but I am considering going back to Diva. This takes practice for sure so wear a liner or Thinx, until you master it. Worth a try.

Know your body before buying!
I really want to like this cup, but I'm just not sure it's right for me. I have an extremely high cervix so the length was perfect, but unfortunately my strong pelvic muscles just crush the sides of the cup together, making it impossible to open. The 3 stars are all for quality of the product, but make sure you know your body really well before purchasing this. I don't think I would recommend it as someone's first menstrual cup. Pros: -Superb quality. Amazingly soft silicone. It's very smooth, with no lines or patterns anywhere on it. It just FEELS good. -Slanted opening should work really well for the angle of most womens' cervixes. -It's one of the longest cups on the market and is perfect for women with high cervixes. The stem can be trimmed for those with lower cervixes. -Comes with a really good quality drawstring bag. -Forms a really good suction and will be leak proof when inserted correctly. Cons: -It can be VERY difficult to open once inserted. I have extremely strong pelvic muscles, and this cup just doesn't want to open 80% of the time. Once it's open, it won't leak at all, but getting it inserted and opened is a pain. I try twisting it, pulling it, running my finger around the edge, everything! But it's so soft that it just gets crushed. -There's a lip around the rim at the top. This can make it somewhat difficult to neatly pour out any menstrual blood (although there is a small opening to help with that). It can also make it harder to clean. However, the rest of the cup is so smooth and easy to clean that I find this to be a pretty minimal problem overall. -Probably not the best cup for anyone with a low cervix. -It forms such a good seal when inserted correctly that it actually hurt a little trying to pull it out. My cervix is so high and this cup is so long that I just have a hard time getting my finger up to the rim to break the seal. I made the mistake of just trying to use brute force and pull it out without breaking the seal first, and I do not recommend that!! Overall it's a great quality cup, I'm just not sure it's right for me. I don't recommend it to anyone with a low cervix or anyone with very strong pelvic muscles.

A great product, it is worth the price.
I am so glad that I did not let the negative reviews deter me from this amazing product. I wear it day and night, remove it and clean it about two-three times throughout the day. It is the perfect size (I have size A), it is not too big, or too small and it never falls out. I can urinate with it in, it does not push against my urethra/bladder. Insertion is the easiest part, I mastered it on the first try. It didn't "pop" me when it opened up either. It is easy to know if it has opened up all of the way/created a seal- if you can't feel it open, then slightly tug on it...if it comes out, then it is not opened up, if it resists, then it is...also wiggling it from side-to-side if it hasn't opened all of the way may cause it open. The little tab on the bottom doesn't bother me too much, so I haven't bothered to trim it and I don't think I will. Also, you can feel it there, but it's comfortable. When it is inserted (for me), I can feel the presence of something, but it's not a nagging/uncomfortable feeling. Every once in a while it gets higher up my vaginal canal (when I squat or do yoga), when this happens I can feel it the most, then it gets uncomfortable; I have to reach in and tug on it so it can be back near the opening and it's back to normal. I have had no leakage, and this product has not caused me any cramping. My only advice is to be careful when removing the cup and to do it slowly, and to always make sure you pinch the base of the cup to remove the air suction so it doesn't pull on your cervix. It gets five stars from me! Sidenote: I should also add that I am a first-time cup user as well!

Never going back to other menstrual products!
Menstrual cups have made my life so much easier. This is the only one I have used but I have had it for 8 months and love it! I can't speak to the quality and feel of other menstrual cups, but I did purchase this one after watching many reviews on YouTube of various menstrual cups. The first few days of my period I completely forget that I have it in. It can take a few tries to figure out how to insert it the first time, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy. It claims to protect from leakage for about 12 hours, and I agree. Sometimes I have left it in a little longer while traveling with no issue (but that will depend on your flow). Toward the end of my period I suspect my cervix must be in a lower position, because it is less comfortable the last few days (sticks out more and irritates the lips a bit). I haven't tried cutting the tail yet, but I suspect that will help. Honestly, it's not even that bad. It's better than using tampons and pads. I used to wear tampons but I would usually also wear a panty liner because tampons would sometimes leak. If you insert this after already having bled, there might be some blood on the outside of the cup that leaks out, but that does NOT mean the product isn't working. It's usually not much if any (and it you put in your cup the night before you expect it to come that can help prevent it as well) but I wear black underwear during my period just in case and haven't had more than a drop or two leak out. For the sake of preventing waste, I don't intend to try out another menstrual cup in the foreseeable future until this one has "run its course" for 5 years or so. (Although I might try the Ziggy cup for period sex.) But I would say that menstrual cups in general, whether you choose this particular product or not, will change your life when you're menstruating. I don't have that leak anxiety or worry about leaving it in too long like tampons (since these can't give you TSS). If you hate the idea of dumping out the blood, maybe this product isn't for you, but I think you should at least give it a try. Because it's not that much and you only have to deal with it twice a day rather than several as with pads and tampons. And it will save you so much money on buying tampons and pads!!! $$$ Hope this helps!

**MOST PAINFUL CUP EVER**
I have tried several other cups in the past and this is by far the worst cup. The material is great, super soft and flexible, however it is very long! I ordered the smaller cup (A) and tried it for my past 2 cycles. I have a high cervix. The stem was so long that it was poking out and very uncomfortable. Upon trying to remove the cup, it was suctioned either to my cervix, or just had an incredible hold.... it took almost 30 minutes to get it out. I was so sore from the cup and so crampy I couldn't use another cup for TWO DAYS. I tried to give the cup another go during my last cycle. I trimmed the stem off entirely, insertion was easy, but after a few minutes I was cramping horribly. I tried to leave the cup in and let my body adjust but it was not working. I had to leave it in while I was at work and as soon as I got home I tried to remove it, again, it must have suctioned to my cervix because it was so painful to remove and took 30+ minutes of trying to break the seal and wiggle it out. I couldn't wear a cup for the remainder of my period because this cup destroyed my insides! In addition, I couldn't go to the restroom with this cup in at all and it felt as though I had a stone sitting on my pubic bone all day. I reached out to the company looking to try a different cup and they have NO customer support at all, no refunds or exchanges are offered on their products - so I wasted my money. DO NOT TRY THIS CUP!!!!! I have been using the Flex Cup for several months and LOVE it... give that one a try instead!

It's like a leech
I was looking forward to this cup. I've been looking for cups for a while and bought my first cups about two months ago, the Pixie cup, 1 large and one small. It was overall comfortable but it would basically get lost in my vagina due to me having a high cervix and I would have trouble finding the stem. As I looked for cups for high cervixes, I took a quiz on the website, Put a Cup In It. One of the cups it recommended was the Lily Cup. I was excited to use a cup that could roll as small as a tampon and I was looking forward to the silky texture. It came in a beautiful box with a lovely satin like pouch. The texture was smooth to touch. It was relatively easy to put in. But once it was in I could feel it. It was bulky and I felt the thick stem. I decided to take it out within a few hours but it was painful. I was able to reach the stem which is great but I couldn't make that thing budge. It seemed that the flattened sealed was suctioned around my cervix like a leech. Everytime, I pulled it hurt. In addition, I still found it hard to grab the actual cup. I ended up stopping because I could feel my vagina shut down due to my anxiety. Plus I was nervous that this thing would suction my IUD right out of me! I tried a few more times to the point that my partner asked if he needed to help me. Finally, towards the end of the evening, I went into the bathtub, squatted and beared down as hard as I could once I was able to push it out a little bit, I grabbed the base with my thumb and fore finger to pull it out in which I painfully felt it's leechy suction eventually let go. I ended up using my Pixie Cups and bamboo biodegradable pads for the remainder of my period. I will never put a Lily cup in me again!

Uncomfortable but do what it should
For me, it's too long, I feel constant pressure inside, and it's very difficult to remove, but quite easy to install. It is rigid and prevents leaks. I used to use a softer cup, but it was difficult to install. So for me it's a disappointment in comfort, but a satisfaction in reliability. I use it when I want to be sure that there will be no leaks - for swimming.
