Can it be used with water based cleaners?

This pump is (physically) identical to the one supplied in the Harbor Freight 20 gallon parts washer. The instructions that came with that washer advise to ONLY use water-based cleaning solutions. This pump is actually a fountain pump and that means water. BUT, that said I plan on using diesel or K1 kerosene as all the highly effective grease desolving water-based cleaning solutions (Purple Stuff for example) are not at all 'friendly' to paint and aluminum.

My solvent is melting down plastic waster type pumps. Will this hold up to petro based solvents?

I use mineral spirits so for no problems

Can this pump be used with diesel fuel

I have been using mine in solvent machine and works well. I would see why it wouldn't for diesel but I would not recommend for any gas type fuel

How do you attach a hose to the internal threaded hole? It doesn't come with an adapter. I can't believe nobody has asked this.

there are pipe treads in the outlet of the pump,they are 1/2" pipe tread,buy a fitting at store,1/2 pipe to a hose nipple.
