Hands down one of the best investments I've ever made...
Awhile back I purchased my camp chef stove to take out on my camping trips and have had my eye on this accessory griddle for awhile. I used it for the first time on our camping trip this past weekend and this is without a doubt one of the best investments I've ever made. To be able to cook the entire meal on one surface instead of having to use several different pots and pans is so much more convenient. There were seven of us on this camping trip so I was cooking quite a bit of food all weekend. Both mornings I cooked up pancakes and eggs. I made 20+ pancakes within about ten minutes because I had so much surface area. Toss 12+ eggs on there and get to scrambling, boy do you feel like quite the chef. The second night I cooked burgers for everyone and went just as smoothly as breakfast. So much surface area to cook on, it's amazing. I love the fact that it has the grease catcher that runs the length of the front of entire griddle. Definitely makes for less of a mess. My ONLY complaint with this is that it didn't quite heat up as evenly as I would have liked. I have the two burner camp chef stove and the heat over both burners was even, obviously. However, in the middle section of the griddle in the space between the two burners, the griddle was a little cooler. I will note that it was a pretty chilly weekend on this trip with temps in the 30s/40s, so I'm sure that was part of the reason for the uneven temperature. But even moving food out to both sides of the griddle, you still have so much surface area to cook on and not having that middle section to cook as warm isn't too big of a deal. In fact I would move the burgers to that section after I placed the cheese on them just to keep them warm without over cooking them and give the cheese a chance to melt. In that sense, the uneven temperature actually worked out really well. I can promise you that you will not be disappointed with this product. Camp Chef knows what they're doing and I would rate this as the #1 must have accessory for any camp chef stove!

Good heat distribution
I love this griddle insert for the Camp Chef 2 Burner Stove. It is a perfect fit to the stove. It has a handle in the center front which is nice for removing and carrying for storage. This is no thin piece of sheet metal. The bottom is cast in such a way as to give you an even heat distribution. With the 2-burner system, you can control the heat for both sides of the griddle for the preparation of different foods or for a lower heat zone for warming. We originally purchased the Camp Chef 2 for canning using the big pots for the bath. Since our house is all electric and everyone knows that electric heating elements are terrible this has been great, and it gets the heat out of the house. This griddle top makes this perfect for our outdoor cooking. We keep the system up all summer long now and enjoy the griddle at least twice a week. Great purchase! I only wish they came with a storage bag for the winter months.

Nice, well built griddle
Nice, well built griddle. It’s heavy and came with a good initial seasoning. After cooking on it twice , I think I’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of using it. It comes with a drip can holder, not an actual can so be prepared to find a jar, can or something suitable to catch drippings and water after cleanup. Otherwise you’ll have a mess on the ground. This was a good alternative to purchasing a full blown Blackstone or Camp Chef griddle for $300+ since I already owned the Explorer 2 burner stove. The surface area is smaller with this option but definitely large enough for my family. I don’t need 800 sq inches for a family of 5 with the occasional guests. This is more than enough. I put an infrared thermometer on the griddle with the stove set on medium to see how the temperature dispersed across the face of the steel. After 20 minutes, there is definitely a cool spot in the middle of the two burners , but that’s common sense and to be expected. I think the dispersement plates make a difference but it’s impossible to have perfectly dispersed heat with this setup. Honestly though, the cool spot is useful if you need to move food off higher heat cooking to avoid burning. The temperature difference I observed between the middle and over burner areas was about 130-150 degrees F. Hope this helps! It’s $99, just buy one!

Griddle me this.....
I never thought I'd opt for a griddle over a grill, but here I am. Tire of burgers, dogs and kebabs falling into the grill? Hate heating up the house in the summer, but you didn't think you could make pancakes and omelettes outside on the grill? Well this product is for you. The versatility of the griddle is amazing from stir frying to searing. If I need a stove , I take the flat top off (boiling corn etc.) Griddle on for everything else. I cheated and bought a small charcoal grill so when the meats are done cooking, I put them in the charcoal grill for a couple minutes to get that smoky flavor and no ones the wiser. The camp chef products are excellent quality so this product is no exception. I use this with my two burner stove. I love that it comes pre-seasoned, so it was non stick from day one with lots of square footage. I cooked 16 hot dogs and 12 burgers with room to spare. Placed 12 Italian sausages to cook while frying up the peppers and onions alongside them, can't so that on a grill. It is heavy, so probably not for the smaller builds to try and put on and off. Cleaning was quick and relatively easy if you have a nice brush. I did find it expensive however it does deliver on quality and versatility. Place your stove at a small angle to the left so the grease flows toward the hole into a large beer can. I highly recommend.

Cook like your back at a Fast Food Restaurant!
First off, I originally bought the Camp Chef Explorer camp stove to boil water for soups in my back yard and at camp. This year, when we found out we couldn't have an open flame at camp, e.g. charcoal, I immediately searched for an alternative. This was what I settled on and I love it. It's HEAVY. It weighs more than the stove. But that also means it's sturdy and should retain the heat well. We cooked bacon and eggs for breakfast. Worked great. Bacon sizzled and the bacon butter ran down the grease well into the catch can. Unfortunately, there was a lot of bacon butter to catch so I had to change the grease cup quite frequently. Not the manufacturer's fault by any means. So be ready to save those tin cans for catching the grease. For lunch it was burgers and they turned out GREAT! I got the frozen patties and didn't expect them to cook well. But they did! Nice carmelization on the patties and all! The best part was that I was able to cook 4 patties with melted cheese, toast 4 pairs of buns and grill some onions on the same grill! Who doesn't like a toasted bun and grilled onions for their burger? I was pounding out 4 burgers every 5 minutes. I started to feel like SpongeBob himself. Again, the burgers tasted great! I was able to fry some eggs sunny-side up for some of the campers as well. Great to be able to do that on one piece of equipment. For Dinner is was sausages and beef tips with some stir-fried veggies. Needless to say by this point everyone at the camp was happy that I bought this griddle. And if you buy this, I believe you will, too. Waiting to make tacos and burritos at home!

Using this in my kitchen only and so far so good!
First off, I am using this in my kitchen and place it over my gas burners. I wanted to be able to cook tepanyaki in my own kitchen, along with quick breakfasts for my family. Last night, I used it to make chicken fajitas for 5 people - chicken breast, 2 bell peppers, 1 onion, and fajita packet. The cooking surface of the griddle was more than big enough - I could have also added steak and made both types of fajitas. The ONLY downfall of using this in your kitchen is the "grease gutter" - there's a hole on the left side and grease began leaking on my floor. I understand this product wasn't necessarily designed for a kitchen though and using a napkin (until I make a cork or something to stop the grease) helped out. Other than that, the quality of this griddle is really high - it's super heavy though but that's what you get with quality, right? Can't wait to do some fried rice, burgers, pancakes, and in the winter time I would imagine I'll be using it even more. Cleaning it was difficult due to the size but like I said I think this was designed for outdoors, not indoors. It doesn't fit in the sink. I wiped it down with paper towels first then light soap and water. Took about 5 minutes. Dried it with paper towels and I store it in my garage (it won't fit in any cabinets due to size). I understand there is a carrying case for it but since it won't be leaving my house I won't be buying one. If you're using this for camping or outdoors, I would recommend getting one. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of this product and the way it heats. Had no issues with "cool" zones as some others have stated. I am however using 3 burners on my kitchen stove with this unit and maybe that's why there are no heating issues.

Like a giant cast iron skillet!
This thing is a BEAST! Description says 35 lbs. Feels more like 50, but it's probably just me getting old. It fits my EX60 perfectly. I also have the leg levelers for the stove, so I use a small bubble level (6") to give just a slight forward/left tilt to the griddle so the grease drains. I'm treating this pretty much exactly like a cast iron skillet when new, realizing that it will take some time to get it seasoned just right. Also, you have to realize that it's NOT a non-stick surface, so some things will stick - just like in a perfectly seasoned cast iron pan. But, I can always use a non-stick pan on top of this if I need to. Right after unpacking, I heated it up to about 475 then let it cool until warm and washed it with a little soapy water, like 2-3 drops of Dawn in water, and a wok brush. Then dried thoroughly. The instructions say it's good to cook on right out of the box, but I prefer to clean it anyway. After washing, I warmed it up again and rubbed it down with some Crisco and paper towels. I've put it through a couple of these cycles, and it's nice to help you learn how it heats up. I've found that the best method for getting it ready to cook on (for me) is to preheat it on medium low for about 10-15 minutes. With my grill, this gets it to about 425. I then lower the heat to almost exactly low - about 1/4 inch of blue flame. The entire grill is very even in heat with the middle between the burners being about 25 degrees cooler. It's nice to have a digital infrared thermometer to learn how your grill behaves. After that, you shouldn't really need it anymore. One thing I remembered about my cast iron skillets - the absolute BEST thing for seasoning them is cooking bacon. And I just happen to have a big jar of bacon fat that I plan on using on this griddle

Good quality that eliminated the need to.
I use this on my Weber Summit 600 series and it fits very well. Does a great job and easy to season and clean. It’s a very heavy product and is quality built. Caution to evenly heat the griddle so it doesn’t warp.
