I have a Frieling 36-ounce French Press. I've had it for a couple of years now. My filter finally needed to be replaced, so I started looking at filters through Amazon. (On the Frieling website, the replacement filters are not costly, but the shipping is.) It was a little confusing at first to know which filter would fit the size French press that I own. Most French presses this size are 34-ounces not 36-ounces. So I was not sure if this would fit, especially since it said it was a Bodum replacement filter. I was looking for a filter with a center ring, one that matched closest to my original filter, and this one did. So I decided to give these a try since the price was reasonable with shipping included. The screen filters are a perfect fit! The quality seems to be as good as my original one. With the first use, I had no issues with coffee grains making their way through the filter. I think it would have been very helpful for other reviewers to state exactly what French Press they are using when leaving reviews, maker and SIZE. And then let people know if it was a good fit and the quality compared to the original one. That is why I wanted to leave this review. For anyone who has a 36-ounce Frieling French Press, these filters work perfect and compare in quality to the original filter.

Fits great as a replacement in my 34 oz Thermos Nissan (https://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Insulated-Stainless-Steel-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B00004S1DB). Much better than the original filter. Not only is the filter mesh of a better quality, but the whole piece is a bit more rigid and shaped, so it seals better against the edges and doesn't warp and allow grounds to push through at the sides. Now, just like any filter, you have to be careful and not let the edges bend otherwise you get gaps where the grounds can some through. Interestingly, in the photos for this product, some are inaccurate. The photos with the blue background ARE an accurate representation of what the filter looks like. Strong, sturdy and rigid. The photo with the white backgrounds (the first one with a pair and the one that shows it with the french press stem screw base) do not show this filter. It actually shows the type of lesser quality filter that came with my Thermos French Press. This is much better.

A buddy of mine is going to Hawaii and staying at a Airbnb and the one question he had was does it have a French press or did he need to bring his own? I told him I had a French press I really like I got from Pier One Imports but I needed to get a new one because the screen had holes in it and coffee grounds are getting through (Living in our “disposalable society” I didn’t even think about you could just replace the screen!) He stated “why don’t you just go to Amazon and order a screen? Duh!! Well, after some research, I went with these screens and I am very happy. They appear to be great quality and fit perfectly! You can see my old screen on the left and new spare on the right. Made my first cup today and worked great!!!

I ordered these to replace the filters that came with my Coffee Gator. These are SO much better! After just a week or two, the edges became frayed and the Coffee Gator filters were so painful to clean, causing me to bleed several times. But the edge on these Bodum ones are sturdier so I’m not getting poked constantly. There are a few sharp edges starting to pop out but it’s nothing compared to the CG ones. I don’t know how long it’ll last but these are definitely my go to replacement filters until someone invents a French Press filter that doesn’t fray!

Excellent, well constructed, and good value. I make probably 600 pots of strong coffee per year in a 24oz, aluminum thermal press. The pot and all internal devices are well cleaned after each pot is finished. I'm very particular about the screen's metal mesh integrity and probably replace them long before most folks would. These screens last me12-13 months before slight fatigue/metal-mesh discoloration begins, at which point I replace them. These screens are superior in construction and materials to the screens that came with my press. The press was fairly expensive, of high quality, and, other than the original screens, has performed and lasted well. This order is my fourth set of these screens and they are the best replacement screens I've used in over 40 years of using French Presses.

I have the ubiquitous Bodum Chambord 8-cup French press. The filter has always been the most finicky bit, difficult to clean, and over time the wire mesh unravels itself. When I finally managed to render the old filter unusable, it seemed silly to replace the whole French press when the pieces are fairly modular. This replacement filter is indistinguishable from the original (when it was new, anyway), fits perfectly in my French press, and now I have a backup in case I wreck this one. Protip: clean it immediately, because it's not going to get easier if you put it off.

Quality exceeded what I expected. They're a much tighter mesh than the one that came with my Ikea Egentlig 30 oz French press. A press I highly recommend. They feel very sturdy and are definitely better built than what came with the Egentlig. Like the screens that come with my press, they have the center metal ring. They've performed brilliantly since I received them and they haven't begun to fray at the edges like the stock screens did after just a couple of uses even though I use the James Hoffmann French press method where you don't even press the coffee. They're inexpensive enough that I bought 2 sets. I would definitely purchase these again and outside of the random problems being reported in reviews, I have NOT experienced any issues at all.
