Stopper has to be pressed all the way down into the bottle. Then use the pump. If the pump doesn't vacuum well, you can run some cooking oil through it, and clean out the excess. The rubber gasket will soak up the oil and expand causing a better seal. We played around with the shoppers and pump for 30+ minutes and drank a few different wines just to play with the vacuum pump.

On my first attempt to vacupump a bottle, the handle came right off. Looks like the old saying “you get what you pay for” The price is very low, so I am not going to bother to return it. Update, not only did it brake right away, but using another pump I found out that none of the corks hols a vacuum. Totally useless!

I am truly pleased with my Kuissential Wine Vacuum Pump. I've owned plastic wine vacuum pumps, but they paled compared to my Kuissential Wine Vacuum Pump. The vacuum closure assured the last drop of my wine was just as good as the first. The stainless steel casing is attractive, durable and functional. Kudos to your company for this device.

It's a great product for preserving wine. The first stopper we used didn't work and we found out that the rubber pieces had become separated. The next one we used worked fine.

I bought this at the end of August but just used it for the first time this week. It doesn't work at all! NONE of the stoppers has a lip big enough to make a seal. Each one is different, like they didn't come from the same mold and none work. Piece of junk to go to a land fill.

My review was requested by Kuissential: After one time use the stopper did not function properly. it would not hold a vacuum. The second one seems to be working OK. There is no way to effectively release the pressure so you can remove the stopper easily. On a vacuum pump I had previously, you just had to toggle the top of the stopper to release pressure, I tried to toggle, press, etc. but to no avail. I have to pull the stopper like opening a champagne bottle. I have not tried the remaining two yet.

This is a very good product. It keeps one wine fresh after being uncorked by being able to vacuum the air out of the bottle. Having four stoppers allows one to have more than one flavor open at a time.

The first pump came apart the initial time I used it. I superglued it back together but shouldn’t have had to do so the first time.
