Can you screw in a extension handle?

No not on this model, it has just a solid wood handle. You would need our model number MR02130 which is a 2 X 2 steel roller with single fork or MR02090 which is a 2 x 4 steel roller with double forks.

Is the roller on a bearing and if so, is the bearing sealed? I plan on having it soaked in a bath and don't want grease getting into the bath.

The roller is on high quality, nearly frictionless steel bearings. They appear to be ball bearings, not roller bearings. The bearings are not sealed against liquid entry. In my opinion, grease from the bearings could get into the bath liquid.
